Was curious to see what kind of place this was, walked in and literally walked out. There was supposedly a cover charge but I literally just walked right in, no bouncer or nothing. Felt like a ghost, not acknowledged whatsoever, place looked like a cheap Quincenera venue. Maybe if the drinks were not Manhattan prices I'd come to chill here with friends, although I feel like this club could be popular if someone bought it out and completely re-did it. Just because your broke doesn't mean you gotta look broke.
Review Source:This is my first time at Atlantis but judging from the reviews and what I heard from friends, I think they had "straighten" it up. Cover was $5 on a Saturday night, which was good. I have to agree that drinks are a bit on the expensive side and mixed drinks comes in a small glass mug (weird). $7 for Bud Light and $12 for Jaeger Bombs. Ay dios mio!
I don't generally go to Hispanic clubs but I went last night with a friend of mine who has a serious case of bean fever. All in all, it was a great experience and if it is any indication, it has improved from what it was merely a year ago (See reviews by Robert R., WM and John P below).
Very friendly and personable bartenders (ones behind the bar and ones going around the dance floor serving drinks).
In one week I'm turning 24. Or as I'm calling it "Twenty-Score." No Twenty-Bore here! The NEW me is adventurous. The NEW me is brave. The NEW me finally goes to Queens (for the first time since I moved here . . . almost two years ago).
Check that off the bucket list, Morgan Freeman!*
Admittedly, I'm not the most well-traveled Yelper. It took an out-of-town friend to convince me and and some other pals to have a night out in Queens.
Queens in Queens, as they say! (I think? And if not? Thanks, I'll be here all night. Keeping things punny since 1986.)
There is a cover, but if you visit their website and sign-up ahead of time, you can get a free admission pass. This is key. Do it. I'm quintessentially Twenty-Poor. Covers are lame.
Also lame? $7 beers. Seriously? $7 for Bud Light and Coors? It's a shame if you're in the mood for beer. But if you want a mixed drink, it's cheaper by a dollar or two, and served in glass mugs with handles!**
Now, the only thing this Twenty-Score year-old ever really wants to do is dance, and Club Atlantis DELIVERED. People were dancing EVERYWHERE. I mean EVERYWHERE: while waiting for a drink, while drinking by the wall, on the main dance floor, on a smaller dance floor before you enter the backroom, on a dance floor in the backroom.
What is your secret, C.A.? How can we make sure dancing like this is mandatory at every club?
Thanks, Club Atlantis. I'm officially Twenty-Floored. You haven't seen the last of me.

* Also stop macking on your step-granddaughter. That ain't right.
** Â I felt like I was drinking with Gaston in Beauty and the Beast. Gay Bar in Queens vs Provincial Town in France. Thoughts?
Everything Robert R. said is TRUE! I don't have much to add other than you better count your money when you're dealing with the cashiers! If you're too drunk, they will take advantage of you. I went to a Halloween Party there a couple years ago and it was Pricey! The staff is not very friendly and the cops like to hang out in front for some reason!
Other than that, the place is filled with HOT boys and easy pickups. Not that I need that anymore, but if I did, this is the place to go!
Get there early...and prepare to be disapponted.
Larger than most NYC clubs...but still rather tiny.
Expensive drinks and the door service, restrooms and coat check remind me of a bingo hall..
And that's NOT a compliment.
The crowd was attractive...but the "show" left a LOT to be desired.
I know people aren't paid to perform, but can they at least REHEARSE before they show up???
I might go again...but only if friend comes to town and it's a place that THEY want to go.
This club is the only true gay club in Jackson Heights; all other spots are bars.  It has two dance floors.  Club and latino music is on the main floor, unfortunately the space is not well managaged.   Expect to wait if you arrive arrive at midnight.  I think it is a  tad bit overpriced at $20 a pop.
They must think thier in Manhattan
