Like a case out of "Bar Rescue"

I am completely disheartened by my experience here. On a football weekend, one, possibly two waitresses. At our table right now and an order of a single Sam Adams Oktoberfest bottle took 35 minutes to materialize. When it did, it was room temperature and flat.

Wings for one member of our party were delivered 15 minutes before any of the other orders.

I got here an hour ago when our group was ordering, said I needed a few more minutes and am still waiting to give have my order taken... At this point, I'm doubtful.

This "Coach" needs some help. Service is disjointed and dismal. I don't say this often because I spent 5 years in the food service industry and know that it can be challenging. BUT there is No excuse for this degree of sloppy and slow.

A failure of epic proportions. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

$10 Steak Thursdays + a side (I always get the loaded potato) & side salad = straight up legit! Went 2 Thursdays in a row since my coworker hipped me to this spot & for some after work libations on a Friday. Good crowd but not overly crowded either time.

I don't think they have a super good HH, at least not the Friday we went. They only offered 1/2 price on bottles. The drink prices aren't ridic though so I wasn't tripping. Some coworkers and I chilled on their VIP couches and had a great time.

It's some good after work chill spots in the EC and this is one of em!

Not a bad place for a beer after work if you're in the Katy area, but not necessarily anything to write home.  Pretty standard sports bar all around, good drink specials and the food isn't bad.  My co-workers love the ping pong tables, they actually came back here in the same night once just for the ping pong.  The service isn't the greatest unfortunately.  No one is getting drunk here anytime soon b/c your glass stays empty for entirely way too long...

Went here for the first time with a group of friends for karaoke Thursday.  After about two hours the waitress finally came and took our drink orders.  They had a calendar on the table with specials on it so we ordered $3 frozen ritas.  However when one of my friends only received $15 change, I asked the waitress and she said the specials were only during happy hour from 5-7pm.  I looked on the calendar and there was no mention of happy hour whatsoever on the front or back.  I told the waitress and she said she would get the manager.  The manager never came.  Also the waitress was not friendly.  Her demeanor came off rude.

There was a high percentage of country singers.

This is a very good place to hang out with friends and coworkers. They have an OK happy hour but very good service.

This a huge place to with lots of TVs which was great to watch the heat game yesterday.

The only missing thing is because they didnt have the Rockets game which is not really on them but still outside of that they had the rest of the games covered.

I got a text inviting me to Coaches tonight to watch the big MNF game between the Texans and the Jets.  Sure, I'm in!  We knew the place would be busy, so a few friends got there early and reserved a primo table.  Nice!

The place was packed and the atmosphere was loud and lively the entire game, but that can be said of many restaurants and bars around town.  I credit JJ Watt and Arian Foster more for that than Coaches.  They did have lots of TV's which is always nice when there are multiple games on, but tonight, it was all about the Texans.

Moving on to the negatives.  Many of the viewing areas have terrible sound.  The speakers are located in the center of the restaurant, so audio is great there.  But we sat in one of several viewing areas where we could barely make out the commentary, so we missed much of the incessant praise Jon Gruden heaps on everyone.

Then there was "The Wait".  It started with me ordering a grilled chicken sandwich when I got there at 7:20.  It ended when it made it to our table at 8:55.  In between were a couple of complaints to our server (who we understood was not at fault), side bets on whether the food would come before halftime, a failed request to speak with the manager, and an aborted attempt to go get some mickey d's and bring it back or have pizza delivered there.  It did keep all of us amused.

I'm not even going to give this place the single star treatment.  I'll give it a second star because the Texans won - undefeated baby! - and the sandwich was alright.  But maybe it tasted better than it really was because I was starving by the time it came out?  Comments from friends about their food was that it was OK, standard bar food, but nothing to write home about.  The burgers looked decent.

So this review focuses on this place as a venue to watch a big sports events and get quality food.  In that respect, Coaches did not have the right gameplan.  I have been to other sports bars around town that were absolutely packed for big events.  They were prepared for the amount of people coming in.  Coaches was not tonight.  Hopefully they get their act together because I really wanted to like it more.  Two stars being "Meh.  I've experienced better." is right on.  In fact, it may be a little too generous, but hey, the Texans won.

Went out here and met a bunch of people.  I went on Wednesday, which is "Dude's Night".  They have a $8 special for a burger and a beer.  I did not eat while I was there.  People I was with had varied food, no complaints that I heard.  Wings smelled great and crawfish (2lbs) looked good.

When we were there, $2 pints & $3 22oz drafts.  Beer was cold but not really a wide array (Bud, Bud Lt, Miller Lt, Coors Lt, Ziegenbock, Guiness, Woodchuck)...Also had  $5 premium whiskey (not a great poor, but average).

Waitress was fairly quick, however, we were there fro about 7-10p and it was not too crowded.  I would go back (although driving from downtown to Barker Cypress on I-10 at 6:30p was slow).

Large place but placement of TVs in not very good if you want to watch more than one game.  Although abour 10-15 beers on tap, all basic domestic with a few common imports.  No St. Arnolds even in bottles.  Food was average, our waitress was not very friendly despite it being a relatively slow afternoon.

Nice place to go to watch any special events like UFC!! (Of which I like to watch). The food is decent and the wait staff is really nice and accommodating. Nice for large groups and nice specials. Sign up online for the newsletter and you get 5 dollars off of 25. After the event it looks like it turns into a night club cause there is a line outside every time I leave. So if you want you can stay and get your boogie on.

Coaches is a great sports bar to hang at if you're just wanting to watch the game and eat bar food.  Nothing special in terms of food or beer, but they have a ton of tv's and always have several different sporting events going on.

I've been there for lunch and to watch games in the evening.  The service is always good and it's so big that it's never felt overcrowded.

Coaches is great place for hanging with friends. If you are going to coaches to meet a lot of people then you are going for the wrong reasons. This coaches doesn't really bring in a lot of people. If you are not one of those people that just wants to pick up on girls then this place is great. Play pool, play darts, watch the game and have some drinks. Great atmosphere for a group of friends...do you really want it crowded if you are hanging with friends, anyway. I gave it four stars because of the reasons I went. Hope this helped...

Oh yeah this place has like a three dollar cover charge on weekend nights

I like this place for a few reasons:

    - it's huge! it's so big that even though the parking lot (always!) looks pretty full, there's still plenty of places for you to sit at and hang out
    - there's lots of things you can do.  drink, eat, of course watch sports, play darts, play pool, dance, etc.
-well it's near me so how cool is that, I'm not trekking all the way in town to hang out for a few hours (only of course to meet friends who are on the west side since no one really wants to come all the way out here)
    -the drinks aren't expensive!

reasons why I didn't give it higher stars:
-sometimes the drinks are really watered down.  guess that comes with cheap drinks
-the other time when we ordered food at the bar, and went to sit at a table maybe just a few feet away, when the food came out, the bartender (who was not busy at all....she wasn't tending to anyone) didn't let us know the food was there.  by the time we checked on it since it was taking too long, the food was really really cold.  And she did not provide us any napkins or silverware.

My friend works here so I had to come visit! The atmosphere is really chill and its a fun place to go to after work or something like that just to relax. As far as the food goes, I can only comment on the crawfish and the appetizer platter! $4 for 1 lb of crawfish?! Give me 2lbs! It was really good, it took me awhile to eat everything but it was seasoned great and I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor. The appetizer platter was okay, tasted like the TGIF frozen food from the grocery, not a big fan. Will come back, but probably just to visit and maybe some crawfish!

This is my spot of choice for a Wednesday after work drink spot with the fellas to talk about sports and everything else.  They have great drink specials and the food is pretty good too.  I usually stick to the Pot Roast sandwich.
There is lots of space and lots of waitresses, so service most of the time is pretty good.  Another good thing about this bar is that they usually have the UFC and other PPV for free. And there are TVs everywhere so there really isn't a bad seat in the house.  So you and the whole crew can go up there and enjoy yourselves without having to worry about paying some crazy cover charge.
I would suggest avoiding the location on 290.  Not as good a situation as the new location on the Katy Freeway.

Been here several times.  The place is ok.  Pretty big on the inside, nice and friendly staff and not considered a "dive" by any means.

The place is usually pretty packed for sporting events.  They have daily drink specials and food specials.  The food in particular is your typical bar food, though the portions are pretty big.

Beer selection isn't anything too special.  They have most of the typical drinks on draft and a few specialty beers bottled, nothing huge though.

Not a bad place to go for a quick lunch or night out.  I'd say it is about middle of the road.
