Prices way to high for bar food, $12 sandwich is nuts, but daily food special is one good thing.

    Great Irish beer and food!

My husband and I are excited about our upcoming trip to Ireland se we decided to try the Irish food here.  There were only a few patrons here when we arrived for lunch.  The waitress brought us a menu and got our drinks.  I helped my husband with his Guinness a little while drinking my water.  I usually prefer a lighter beer.

I ordered the Beef 'n Guinness.  It was fantastic.  The marinated sirloin beef tips were so tender they practically melted in my mouth.  The mashed potatoes served with them were a little dry but they were good and that is how they make them in Ireland according to what I read.  I don't usually eat cabbage but I really liked their cabbage.

This place is decorated and ready for sports.  There were several flags representing the teams they support.  There were TVs playing soccer.  The only downside to this place is it smells like smoke as they still allow indoor smoking.

Good beer selection and that's about it.

The food is dreadful, deep fried bar fare. Went there tonight and had the fish and chips. Nothing remarkable about it at all, just deep fried frozen stuff. Captian D's is better. The slaw had almost turned rancid and the grease in the fryers hadn't been changed in a while. Eat here at your own risk. I'd recommend grabbing a bite elsewhere and going here strictly for the grog.

The service was good and the atmosphere isn't too bad unless it's crowded and loud. If they have a band going your ears are sure to rattle and your head will hurt later.

We were seated by the waiter. He didn't say a word to us and came back with two glasses of water and slammed them on the table spilling one of them on us. He didn't wipe it up or say anything. He went back to grab menus because he forgot them. We stood up and left and went for Indian food. This place should be out of business.

This place at first glance has everything it takes to be one of my favorite places.  The atmosphere is cozy and a little on the darker side.  Awesome dark beer selection.  A menu that has things other than your typical burger and fries...I guess I just have never felt like the crowd was that friendly or interesting ..not a fun bar in that aspect....

I did want to add that they do have a large St. Patty's day event.....it gets really busy and they have a tent set up outside but the party bus is pretty entertaining.  It is actually more fun on the bus than in the actual bar because they are just too damn busy....so pack your flask in your boot so you don't get dehydrated...

Great little pub.  They offer many beer and food specials and have live bands perform.  Some people gave them one star based on smoking well I gave them a star for allowing it.  People that smoke do have rights and its nice to have a place to go and enjoy a smoke.  It might be nice if they added a non smoking section but the place is to small for it to be effective.  I try to go on thursdays, fish and chips for 6 bucks special.  They have pool tables, darts and other machines for entertainment.  Place gets a little loud but hey, its a pub.  The staff has always been great, never an attitude.  Saw the bartender cut one of the regulars off and stopped another guy from harrasing a lady at the bar in a very polite and professional way.  I appreciate staff that keeps an eye on there customers and keeps them safe.  They have a very interesing irish menu and the several things I have tried have been very good.

A regular stop for me and numerous other Middle TN Manchester United supporters. This place has a great pub menu. Literally everything I've eaten hear has been really good. (potato skins, burgers, fish & chips, smoked turkey sandwich) By far the best meals I've had here have been the breakfasts...an early morning soccer tret. They also of course have a great list of beers.

Service has always been friendly and good. Pool, darts & great TV's.

The only knock for me as others have mentioned is the smoke but I've been here 20-30 times & it's only been really bad for me once (lunch time. Summer. Somewhat crowded) Most of the time, it really doesn't seem to be that bad. The vibe & good time with friends will get you through it!

I went up to the front, since I love Irish Pubs. I saw the "Smoking" allowed signs, and could smell the fumes without even walking in. Spun on my heels and walked away, which is sad since trying to find parking in that small strip mall was difficult. Oh well. If they change, I might go back.

Made it in to Dan's for the umpteenth time tonight. I had just gotten off work and I was craving a burger. I remembered Dan's offers their full menu until 12:30am on the weekends; this is a rarity in the Cool Springs/Franklin area where they roll up the sidewalks at 10:00 all across town. I remebered they had a CAB burger that I had yet to try, so off I went.

As usual, the service was friendly and Stephanie and Tony took great care of me at the bar, even though I was way down at the far end. The food was a little bit of a disappointment. I ordered my burger medium, topped with pepper-jack cheese and jalapenos. It came out pretty quickly, but unfortunately it was well done. It was not completely dried out, and had a pretty good, almost smoky flavor, so I decided to just eat it and call it a wash. The jalapenos were fresh and hadn't been de-seeded, so they had a nice kick. The bun was probably the best part; it tasted as if it had come directly out of the oven before being sliced and served with my burger. The outside was the perfect amount of crisp; the inside was light and fluffy, yet remained dense enough to hold up to the fairly large (I'd estimate 8 oz) burger. If only the burger had been the proper medium I'd ordered, I probably would have rated this one of the better burgers I've had in this town.

I knock off a star from my previous rating because of the missed temperature, but I still love this place.

irish pub = guiness = excited = I enter.  smoking allowed = lots of smoke = extremely stinky = immediate exit.  yucky yucky, very very!

This is what a traditional Irish Pub should look like!  The beer selection is top notch and the bar is very well stocked.  The folks there (including patrons) are friendly and pleasant to be around.  I enjoyed a quite lovely fish and chips while I was there and it is second to none.  This will now be a must visit place for me when I make the trek to Nashville.

Typical Irish pub, lots of beer and bar quality food.

Have eaten here a half-dozen times. Salads are your best bet. Scottish eggs are good if you like that sort of thing. Fish and Chips are on the Captain D's level. Soup is awful.

Expect a male-heavy crowd of your usual Irish pub patrons. That would be the Hawaiian/cabana shirt, cigar, poker, golf, loafer with no sock types who think they have style because they listen to U2, have an iPhone, and drive a BMW.

I usually end up here for lunch or a few after work.  The food is excellent, try the fish and chips, nice big bar, good beer selection and good atmosphere.

Like others have said it is still a smokers place so that does kind of sucks but it isn't that bad.

I didn't want to like this Dan McGuinness because I was so loyal to the downtown one and I thought that placed in Cool Springs, it would just become another personality-less chain so common in the area.

The first time I went there, there was a traditional Irish band playing who were fun and took requests for songs, so we had a good old singalong.

The second time I went was for drinking purposes on a Friday night. I was more than pleasantly surprised. The place was packed and it was nice to be at a Dan McGuinness that wasn't full of young Vandy students. The crowd was mostly late 20 something, early 30 something people. The great thing about having this Dan McGuinness in Franklin is that it actually stays open late and has the atmosphere of a real bar and not a restaurant (although they do serve great food too).

This is my favorite bar in the Franklin area (other than McCrearys downtown, but they close so early!)

They have a great beer selection on tap. The food is very irish (it's an irish pub!), and not really my favorite type of food, but if you like really fried fish and chips, its great! I do like the beer cheese soup in the bread bowl!

They have great booths in their 'courtyard' area - each has a small flat panel TV attached to the wall, so you can control what you watch at your booth.

They have a nice area for music, and some good irish bands on the weekends, but its often too loud to be able to hear your friends. The inside is very very smoky, so I'd say those are the too biggest drawbacks.

Overall, great beer - and good music!

Great Food.  Great indoor space.  I really really really wish they would go non smoking.  Because they are 21 and over, they dont even have a smoking area.  Its anywhere and everywhere.  Its not too smokey, but it sucks to go somewhere for dinner and have chainsmokers in the middle of the room.  The food is awesome though, and there aren't a whole lot of smokers.  There are two separate rooms, so they could segregate the smokers in the bar area, but they dont.  Too bad.  I like going there, but I dont go there as much anymore.

If they banned smoking, I would give them more stars because the food is delicious and the atmosphere is excellent.
