My husband's work had their Christmas party here. It was a great setting for a company party. I was surprised that the food was pretty tasty. The bartender was super nice, too.

Went to D & B for the "big kids NYE party", and it started out so-so, but got better as the night went on. The person at the table when we arrived was nonplussed, and completely disinterested in us, or the party. She seemed to forget that we paid $150 for our family to eat microwaved chicken tenders and french fries. Inside the room there was another female preparing tables who was also bitter at having to work on NYE, so that put a damper on the beginning of the evening. Once we settled in we had the nicest waiter. D & B decorated festively, and provided a magician, face painting, and a count down. I think it was perfect for 5-10 year olds. Our kids might have been a little to old, but we still had fun.

Great family time and the food was good too. The only reason I am giving it 3 stars is because it's expensive.

Dave & Busters, fun place to kick back and relive your youth while drinking hard liquor.

    Here's the skinny:
The Arcade has old school games too.
The food here is pretty good.
    Pool Tables are in front.
    Cleanliness counts.

    Here's the fat:
I am a video game fan... love 'em. The fact that they've got games like Jurassic Park and Terminator as well as frickin' Time Crisis and Time Crisis 2 here is great... old school rocks. Of course they've got the newer ones too. The ticket games aren't my thing but, they've got plenty of them there.

I think the grub here is pretty good, nothing special though. Burgers are always a safe bet, I've had some of the steaks and all that and it's hit or miss with those. Adult bevs are over priced... not made too well and are sometimes watered down, all depends on who's making it. I've had decent ones here but, it's definitely more fun and games here than it is a bar.

There are pool tables a plenty in the front. Pay for the time you use it, none of this "Per Game" BS which is great for people like me... I suck at pool so games of pool are usually over pretty quick. More bang for your buck.

This place is pretty clean considering the foot traffic that passes through here. Seems like there's always someone walking around with a carpet broom or wiping down games.

Oh Dave and Buster's... why do you confuse me so?  Your games are quite fun and with the meal/game card deal it is quite a cheap evening option.... but... your food is so disappointing.  It's mediocre at best and relatively unexciting.  You menu is not far from that of Friday's, Applebee's or Ruby Tuesday's - there's nothing special about it.  Slim it down, make a few things really well instead of a ton of things semi-oaky-like.

The environment itself is fine, very fun and inviting.  I can't say I've ever experienced poor service and the rest rooms are clean.... the games are fun and toting a bagillion tickets around with you takes as much technique as some of the games do.... but please fix your food... it just makes everything so much better.

I know that you shouldn't have high expectations of the food for a place that is a grown-up version of Jeepers or Chuck-E-Cheese's but sadly I did. The commercials and pictures on the menu really hype you up for disappointment. I have no complaints on the games and atmosphere.  I ordered the Black Jack Sirloin off the "Eat & Play" menu to receive the $10 card. First off, I ordered my steak medium rare and it was medium well. I didn't want to complain to our server because I could see that he was having a really tough time that night (he backed up into another server causing the drinks to spill on himself and the floor and then later spilled more drinks : / ) Second, my steak was completely drenched with BBQ sauce and when I say drenched I mean that there was probably a whole bottle of it on there.

I think the next time I return to D&B, it will be strictly to drink and play games.

This place is HUGE.  You really get the scope of it when you drive into the parking lot.  I had a philly cheesesteak, which was pretty good, but then again, I was pretty hungry.  Anyways, the games!

Lots and Lots of great games, but really crappy trading presents.  I think their highest paying game puts out 500 tickets (only if you're pro), and really good prizes (video games) are about 8500+ points.  yeah good luck.  The Xbox 360? about 200,000+.  Not getting that any time soon.  But what I loved most was that the non-ticket paying games were free!! And they had lots and LOTS of shooting games.  So if you don't care about tickets, don't buy the big credit card with your meal.  Just get the card (it's required to access the games) and play free arcade games.

My only gripe is that they don't have any fighting games.  I mean I was ready to kick some ass in Soul Calibur.  Sad face.

Brought 3 teenagers here - my niece & 2 nephews - for some grub & fun since we don't have anything like this in the city where we live.

Our food was pretty decent. Nothing special but good overall. We sat in a section with only 1 other table seated. Oddly enough that other table of 2 ordered exactly what 2 people at my table ordered and unfortunately for them the runner brought their food to our table even though they ordered before we did. They got a free dessert out of it so that was nice. The server tried to give the dessert to my table - apparently we confused them by sitting at that specific table! Seems like only 2 tables in the section wouldn't make it so difficult, but what do I know?

Had a lot of fun with the games, we did the deal where you pick a meal & get a game card for $20 each. Depending on what games you play that $20 can go quickly & you may not have much to show for it! You have to invest a lot to get a decent "prize" from the prize room.

We all had a good time, earned $10 on each of our cards so we may have to make another trip to the East side....poor us, lol.

Fun place for young and old kids alike!

A giant bar in the center of a game room- it's bound to be fun right?  Yes but I really think it's more for adults than families.  When I see two 7 year olds sitting at the bar while Mommy orders a Long Island it really turns me off.
The food is good, and I have had excellent service while attending a few work parties.  Brought the kids on a rainy Saturday and dropped a load of cash- not a regular destination- their first and probably last.  It's an adult playground and  not for kids.
You have to use cards in the machines rather than tokens.  I went to buy three cards for my kids and the kiosk rejected my credit card on the third purchase.  The Customer Service Desk explained that they limit purchase of cards to two in order to protect people with stolen cards.  Excellent!!! WRONG- they billed me for 4 cards!!!!!!  The transaction that was "voided" at the kiosk went through!  So YES this establishment accepts credit cards and double bills you for what you purchase!

Love D&B!  The games are great.  The food is excellent.  And I even rented their banquet room last April to have wife's surprise Bday party.  The place is so much fun.  I try to go every few months.  The only negative thing is that it's kind of pricey.  Expect to pay $15-$20 for the typical dinner.  And playing games can really add up.  Expect $20 per person...more if you play the "win ticket" type games.

I have been to this Dave & Buster's several times now.  I live close by, and the games can be a lot of fun.  Overall, however, I would give it 3.5 stars.

This place certainly has that "chain" feeling.  Everything can get quite pricey rather quickly, unless you take advantage of the coupons.  I really wouldn't go there without one of those BOGO entrees or a free appetizer deal that they always seem to have in the paper.  If you're into playing the games, there's good coupons for that too, or you can take advantage of the "eat and play" deal.

Some portions, such as the nachos, are quite generous.  However, some of the other entrees I've noticed run on the small side.  All of the food I've tried there is pretty good, but the service tends to be middle of the road.

D&B was our saving grace for this rainy wet 'summer' day.  Arrived around noon and had the place to ourselves (it was a Friday).  Pretty cool because I've been there when it's packed.

Took advantage of a free $10 game play card (happy birthday to me) and had a blast.  I'm a sucker for anything that will shoot out a ticket.  And even better....they combine trivia and tickets.  You get tickets for being smart.  Bonus!

Some people complain about the food or the service but I've always found them to be pretty decent.  In fact, the Philly Steak & Cheese is downright tasty.  They have great food/game combos.

Go.  Have fun.  Be a kid.

Power hour during happy hour is the way to go. Only drawback is that you can't play every game this this special. Only the shoot-em up and racing games for the most part. My husband and I went there for our 5th anniversary and we didn't know how to play half the games--and we're not that old!!! Wished we could have played the carnival games. Oh well, it still makes for a fun date!

So, this review is going to be a very pointed one.  I've been to Dave and Busters more than a few times.  I've always enjoyed the place, but have never found it to be the best food or service.  To be honest, my most recent visit was disappointing.  We ordered an appetizer that came after the meal and I ordered a side that never arrived.  It finally arrived as we were getting a round of after-dinner drinks.

So, it was disappointing...to say the least.

So, "Tom," you ask, "why did you give it even three stars?"  This is a valid question, and once again calls into question my sense of self and sanity.  But, I have good reasons.  First, my double chicken parm sandwich was quite good in that, it was consistent and I know what I'm getting kind of way.  I enjoyed it.  Secondly, we were with a large group.  There were 14 of us including two teachers and five 5th graders from Wales (think God Save the Queen not Jonah), one of my teachers, and his family which included a newborn, 1st grader and a 3rd grader.  So, we were probably a handful.  And, really, it was a success.

First, the kids were constantly happy and moving.  There are a lot of games there.  Kids love games.  Kids love = adults conversing, and this is what it was all about.  Our waiter, though completely inept in nailing my order was AWESOME with the kids.  He treated them like little adults and took their orders, made sure they had refills, and didn't do the "i'm going to blow them off because they're not tipping," move that so often happens in these situations.  He did well!  Moreover, the place was incredible hospitable.  Whether it was out of self-preservation (seeing the group when everyone got there) or out a sense of obligation to the kids, they sat us quickly (about 30 minutes early) and catered to the young ones.  One server even allowed them to play a shuffle board game while the group that rented it was eating.

So, all-in-all, though my personal experience was lacking, I need to give credit where credit is due.  And, these guys came through for the most important people of the night, and our guests were well-fed, well cared for, and delivered back to their hotel next door.  It was a good experience...just don't order the appetizer!

This place does not take reservations as the profile says.  They told me you can call 1 hour in advance and if you have a group of 10 or more, they will put you on the wait list.

Kids like all the games, but the food is average at best.

When it first opened, it was a place which was pretty different than the eatingtainment venues of the time. However, the place was pretty pricey for what we got. Plus, the Waitress miscalculated the bill, so after coming back again and saying we owed more...completely stumped me.

    Here are some other buggeries which prevented my satisfaction for the night;

    * I ordered a Rusty Nail and they couldn't make it because they didn't have Drambuie. Whenever a place of business tells me they don't have a liquor on hand...I think they are just being cheap. I worked in the bar business, I know how they are supposed to inventory and there's no reason for the missing items. There isn't as much demand on Drambuie as there is Bacardi, so I'm sure they just didn't run out of it.

    * Ok, so I compromise with a nice Shiraz, right? Wrong. I got the Shiraz in a brandy glass instead of a wine glass. (This is type of glass is too small to enjoy wine in.) The bottle of Shiraz they had on hand - $7, the cost of my Shiraz $7.75.

    * Food - Can you say Gordan Food Supply? Not picking on GFS. If I go to your run of the mill Coney Island, who's complaining. But the dishes here were pretty expensive for the greasy, cheap dishes they gave us.

    Saving grace:
Build your own taco/burrito. This was a pretty good dish, and an original idea. The additional star you see in this rating is due to this one item.

Interesting... "Guy D." (read other review)... I collected 10 Thousand Tickets as well (Literally), but I walked away with a video game for the Nintendo Wii (that normally sells for 40 dollars).   It also helped that I took advantage of their Wednesday Half-Off Game Days...

I did a little math and figured out that if you spend 20 dollars to get 100 credits put on your game card, then 1 credit equals 20 cents.  (Of Course, if you have some kind of coupon, you'll get an even better deal).   Or, you can spend 50 dollars to get 300 credits put on your card (which is a better deal as well).

Anyway... if you play a game that says that it costs 2 credits, then you spent 40 cents to play it.  Or, if it says that it is 5 credits to play, then that costs you a buck.   On "half-off" day, most games cost 5 credits OR LESS to play... in fact most of them are around 2 to 3 credits (40 to 60 cents a play).

I really think the reason why places like this went to a "CARD" system for playing the games is that most people don't even take the time (or the effort) to figure out just how much they are paying to play those games.  But, as you can see, if you do a little math... you can find out how much you are actually paying.

I will add that when you pay some money to put some "game credits" on your game card, always pay the extra few dollars for the "power charge", or "Super Charge", or whatever they call it.  I've figured out the cost per credit with a calculator, and that "power charge" is always a good deal.  Also, the MORE MONEY you spend, the better deal you get.  If you spend 20 bucks (for 100 credits), then you are paying 20 cents per credit.  If you pay 50 bucks (plus throw in an extra 5 bucks for the power charge), you'll get 375 credits (and you'll only be paying about 15 cents per credit).  Or... if you spend 100 dollars (which gets you 750 credits), you'll only be paying a little over 13 cents per credit.   Believe me, it makes a difference in the long run...

Or... if you're hungry, you can always do their "Eat & Play" combo deal.  You pay $15.99 which gives you a choice from eight entrees, and you also get a 10 dollar game card for when you are done eating.  Whenever I've eaten here, the food has always been surprisingly good.  I know... you're thinking "Good Food" at Dave and Buster's??  Well... it's true, try 'em for yourself sometime, you'll see.  Quite a few times when I've stopped by, I've seen the managers of the place eating here.  If the food is good enough for them to choose to eat here, that should say "something" about how good it is, right?

Dave & Busters is my family's favorite place to hit up when it is someone's birthday. Dave & Busters is a fun easy alternative to going to a casino or waiting till summer to have fun at a fair or find a place to play indoor arcade games. They have very good food which can be pricey and they also a full bar. The games all have a switch which you can flip to have a waiter bring you a drink right to where you are sitting, and they do have a good choice of 'prizes' to win after you are done playing and cash in your tickets. I would recommend Dave & Busters for birthday parties or a spur of the moment thing to do with a group of people and you are bored but still want to have fun.

I have never not had fun coming here. This place is every man, woman and child's play land.
They have a wide variety of arcade games for people of all ages and they also have pool/billiards and a nice dining area/bar.

They usually have a food-game combo deals starting at around $15 which is a steal.
The bartenders are friendly and fun and they drinks are average priced.
also if a shot person try the 7 layer lethak bomb shot !

ps: good place to take someone on a date !

I've been to this Dave & Busters several times, but happened to spend both last night (NYE) and the night before there.

I have eaten here, but it's nothing to write home about.  It's a bit pricey for what the food actually is, so usually we just go to play games and have the occasional drink .

On Wednesday it was half off games!  That meant that three of us played on a $30 game card for a long time.  While my boyfriend and his brother enjoy the shooting and racing games, I enjoy a bit more of the chance or skill games.  While they were shooting things I enjoyed the coin games and a relatively new favorite - the tic tac toe game.  Quite simple but addicting none the less.

Last night (NYE) was another fun night.  We definitely noticed the full priced games and had to reload our $35 card twice to play to our content.  I had a Caribbean Fantasty, which tasted like candy...it was excellent and a Scooby Snack Shot.  And of course we watched the ball drop and all that.

Now I understand that it was going to be busy, but sometimes I had to wait a long time to play the game I wanted (El Dorado and the Hi Rollers Coin Game)  Although I guess to be fair, once I play them I stayed on them for a fair amount of time.  It had been busy Wednesday, but not this busy.

One thing that I enjoy about Dave & Busters is their coupons/promotions.  There is always a buy $10 get $10 free coupon in our Entertainment book, and I see that advertised a lot of other places (the hotels ect) as well so maybe it's always a special?  And of course Coke Rewards.  I participate in the coke rewards program and every so often they have a $10 free in credits for Dave and Busters.  I've gotten that one 3 or 4 times.  They do expire, but I just go in and have them put it on the card then leave without paying.  The credits don't decrease.  By the time I had my $30-$40 saved up on there and played on the half off Wednesday night it made for a cheap night for the three of us.

I don't hate Dave & Buster's, but frankly I'd rather make up a bowl of pasta and turn on my Xbox than go out to D&B's for an overpriced night out. The games are old, the drinks are watered down and cost too much, and so does the food.

Speaking of which, the food is not bad. I mean it's not great, it's better than your average Applebee's. A friend actually had her wedding afterparty here - which is weird - but they had trays of pretty good appetizers that I honestly can't say too many bad things about.

The big problem with Dave & Buster's in my eyes, is that they exhibit pretty much everything that has ruined both American arcades and American restaurants. And since I love both of those things, I suppose I have a little enmity toward both Dave and Buster for making money off of that.

If a buddy called me up and suggested we go to D&B's to drink beer and throw balls at a net or something I'd agree to go, but mostly only because I have some cards with credits on them that need to get used up. Otherwise, I'd suggest alternatives.

When this place first opened several years ago it was packed with games and people.  Having not been there for eight or nine years I suggested it to a group of friends as a place to hang out last Friday.  Compared to what I remember from the first time I went, D&B has been almost completely gutted.  There are only a handful of arcade games and they are so out of date it's boring just to look at them.  The game room has been mainly replaced by candy-crane-esque games and basketball nets.  The drinks were overpriced (considering my white russian was almost entirely milk) which I expected but not to this extent.  They charged a friend of mine twice for his drink and then said they "don't give refunds" (interestingly they refunded a screwed up salad to another friend not ten minutes earlier) so they instead gave him another drink without even asking if he wanted one.

    Go to GameWorks.

I've been to Dave and Buster's all over the place and I keep coming back for one reason.  The Trivia Machine.  Seeing as how I could stay at home and get depressed at the thought of endless snow, I decided to drive through the unplowed streets for some entertainment.

This particular Dave and Buster's is pretty big in terms of space.  Unfortunately, most of the space is used for food service.  The menu at D&B's has never been all that great, but some people like it.  I stay away from the food and dabble in games and alcohol.  Yes, you can drink alcohol while playing games.  This place is mainly for adults who still play arcade games.  The games focused mainly on shooters, driving games, and ticket games.  Not a very good selection, but at this point I will take what I can get.  I'm a huge Ghost Squad fan and Time Crisis fan.  The ticket games include the knock the tokens off the platform, hoop shots, and my personal favorite...the Trivia Machine.

Shout out to the people of Utica for providing me faith in the people of Michigan.  I met some good trivia people out there.  Trivia people are good salt of the earth people.  After some 15-20 rounds of trivia, I left with about 1500 tickets.  Good times.  Embarrassment came when I didn't know what the name of Eminem's rap crew was.  We all lost it when we didn't know when the mating season of the mountain goat was.  Don't assume that everyone gets the easy questions right either.  People did get the "which number president was Thomas Jefferson?"  In any case, thank you people of Utica.  You saved my Saturday.

I'm really not crazy about this kind of place but my sister really wanted to go.  Well, really, it was about a week after her birthday, and on her birthday, her 2 1/2 year old son asked if they could go to Chuck E Cheese's for her birthday party, and she thought this might be an acceptable substitute that the adults wouldn't hate.  I also don't think this is a good place to take little kids, but they are allowed in, and I think they require kids to leave at some point in the evening (we didn't make it that long.)  It's loud, crowded, and smoky in there, especially in the game room, and easy to get lost (foreshadowing!)  The games seem a little pricey, and some of them take only tokens while others take only the gaming card.  There is also this weird stipulation that the last 10 or so remaining units on your card can't be use in certain machines which is just plain annoying.  The food is just so-so, mostly a lot of average bar food.  While the menu selection isn't great, they do get kudos for putting grilled chicken with rice on the kids' menu, so you can actually get something non-deep-fried and mildly healthy for your rugrats at a kids' menu price.  We did have an excellent waitress who didn't bat an eye when my one nephew gave her some lip.  And I really have to compliment the whole crew there on how they handled this one little crisis we had - aforementioned 2 1/2 year old nephew wandered off while we were waiting for our table.  We had 5 kids to the three of us grownups and he just slipped away while the other kids were running around being a little crazy.  One second he was there and the next he was gone.  In an instant the hostess got some managers on the intercom, and like 10 employees and managers fanned out in all directions to find him.  It took about 10 minutes because that place has about a million little nooks and niches between the bar, restaurant, game room, pool tables, etc. etc., but they found him doing just fine wandering the game room.  They did a decent job on that.

You know what you're getting with this franchise so I don't need to spell it out. However, I will say this place is curiously far away from a big college town like Ann Arbor. I went on a Thursday night in the summer and it was pretty empty which was great for me and my party, but it would have been nice to have been closer to homebase and avoid a long car ride.
