Why do people complain about "food being terrible" when they are going to a member of a well-known and understood international food chain? Denny's can't hold its own against truly delectable 5-star breakfast bistros... but why would you expect it to? Sigh - I'll never understand that (yet I see this all the time on Yelp). - / end rant- Anyway, another thing I see here on Yelp is people struggling to review a chain restaurant (do you review the experience? The restaurant itself?) Well, this Denny's is much of what you would expect from a Denny's - it's clean (for a Denny's), service is nicer than I have experienced in like-minded chains in the area (AHEM cough cough * IHOP* cough cough), and the food is much cheaper than the aforementioned like-minded chains as well! I love their skillets, so darn good, but this particular Denny's is not very adept at cooking pancakes properly (soooooo dry) so I would stay away if I were you. Their covered and smothered hash browns are right on point (made so much better than the Poughkeepsie Denny's ever could back in the day before it was shut down), and their grand slams... well they live up to the deliciously affordable expectations that you come to love. Oh...and can I say that their red velvet pancake puppies are a REVELATION?! They weren't a perfect round shape and they also were a little overcooked, but that's just how I like 'em! C'mon people... in this economy, what bad can you say about a delicious meal in a clean restaurant for under twenty bucks??
