This is an old fashioned diner that has not been updated, and that's its charm. Â Service can be a bit slow when there is a rush of people. Â One improvement is needed-the pancake batter recipe. Â The pancakes are small, thin, and flavorless and taste like cafeteria hotcakes rather than what you expect from a diner.
Review Source:Coming of age in New Jersey I know my diners. Â The Stewart Airport Diner is not on the level of a good Jersey diner. Â It is however, passable and a hot sit-down meal is better than the fast food offerings across the street at the truck stop.
I don't like going for dinner. Â The dinner menu is typical diner fare but it's all packaged Sysco frozen reheated stuff. Â Breakfast on the other hand is much better, and saves this from being a 2 star place. Â The coffee is strong and hot, the eggs have been prepared well no matter how I ask for them and the bacon is crispy but not overdone.
Again, not my favorite place, but if you get off 84 it much better than the fast food choices near by.
Stick with burgers, club sandwiches and breakfast fare and you'll be okay. Â I find the dinner specials not so great - the veg is always overcooked and the baked potato looks like it sat there all day. Â
If you're looking for a great greasy spoon with very reasonable prices, a friendly staff and comfort diner food then this is it. Â If you want anything more best to select another diner or restaurant.
