I'm usually not a huge fan of chain restaurants, but for the most part, I do like Panera.  Due to the Newburgh Panera being pretty close to where we live and cheap, my fiance & I wind up there a lot.  While I would rate other Paneras higher than three stars, the quality of the Newburgh Panera lacks consistency.  Sometimes the food is hot and tastes good, other times we have to nuke stuff in the microwave and it looks or tastes as if though it's been sitting out all day.  Sometimes the employees are polite and go out of their way to be helpful, other times you are treated as if though you are a bother and are snapped at.  I've called and spoken to a manager a couple of times, once due to the apples & whatnot being left out of the Fuji Apple Salad I brought home for my fiance and another time due to an employee's extremely rude behavior (I changed my order at the last minute and apologized profusely about it, and in response, this young lady glared & silently seethed at me and refused to talk to me for the rest of the transaction). My fiance & I will probably continue to go there once every so often out of convenience, but lately, we have been making more of an effort to give local independently owned eateries our business.

Very friendly and helpful service.  They let me sub a bagel for a roll and warmed up a soup.  Plus our food was delivered very quickly and with smiles.  The cafe itself was very clean and seating was spacious and comfortable.  The broccoli cheddar soup was deliciously creamy and went very well with the fresh baguette.  The chicken caesar was a bit on the small side but the chicken was tender and nicely seasoned.  Definitely 4+ stars for service and 3 for actual food, so I will round up.
