For pita bread, it's pretty good.  Not great. Not worth the prices they charge.

There was nothing "wrong" with our experience at Depot 62. There just wasn't anything great either.

Our concierge recommended it as being great for vegetarians and the touristy "Where to" book said it had fresh, artisinal cuisine.  It seemed fresh enough, but I'm not sure what was artisinal about it.

It's a swanky Middle Eastern-influenced place with a few options, a hipster feel (thanks to it being situated in a furniture store) and the price tag to match.

    Great food...Small portions....Not worth the $$$$

A quaint little place in Manchester, VT that sort of makes you feel like being in a lodge. The vegetable soup was amazing and hit the spot on a freezing cold day. The hand made pizza was full of flavor and perfect for three of us to share. Great food in a unique setting... Thanks!

It has been three months since I visited and I'm still thinking of their shrimp pizza. We loved it so much that we have recreated it at home several times since then. To be fair, the crust was simply OKAY (and a bit burned), but the topping was incredible. I also had the pizza with asparagus and olive paste...definitely didn't care for it and wouldn't order it again. Despite that, I did like this restaurant and the trendy art and music. This was a great place to have lunch before getting back on the road.

It is really fun to dine here, in the middle of a furniture store -  an exotic one at that! You can sit at one huge, long table for 16 - if you are feeling sociable, or grab your own table.
They serve wine and beer at fairly reasonable prices. The salads look fresh and abundant. We had wood fired wild mushroom pizza, which was delicious, and lamb Guyvec (lamb stew with eggplant and tomato), and lamb/veal Kofte. Both were served with wood fired lavash. The Guyvec was good, because the lamb and eggplant were tender and not fatty. However it was a little bland and lacked garlic and any heat. My husband's Kofte, on the other hand, was spicy and loaded with garlic (& maybe a bit too much salt) - so I will have that next time. I love that they have my favorite diet root beer- (Stewarts). This unusual place a terrific find.

What an utterly delightful, bizarre, delicious place. Loved the Turkish (lamb) pizza, the quinoa salad special, and the adana kebab. Everything was fresh and homemade. We sat at a long table with another family and the communal atmosphere was great - though there are separate tables. The wood fired pizza cannot be missed!!

My only slight minus was for the service. It was meh. Regardless - the next time I go back to Manchester I'm making a beeline for Depot 62 for my first meal.

Fresh made brick oven pizzas here were wonderful. Highly recommend if in the mood for pizza. The service was not the best and it's a little odd that the restaurant is in the middle of a furniture store, but otherwise it was quite good. I recommend a beer or two with the pizza (mmm, yum...)

We never would have found Depot 62 except for the Yelp reviews. It is literally in the middle of a Turkish/Antique furniture store. Really neat items all around. Locals seem to know this is a good place for stone fired pizza (you sit in view of the oven). Very casual. You help yourself to beer, sodas, etc. from a large cooler. Rather non traditional pizza selection. We had the "staff favorite" mushroom, caramelized onion, and cheese pizza but they offer several Mediterranean topping, salads, humus etc. Very nice alternative for a casual meal in Manchester (across from McDonald's).

Great food, great wine, cool atmosphere.

Came here with a group of 6, ordered nearly everything on the menu and it was all really good. The two lamb entrees were especially good. Had a great Old Vine Zinfandel to go with it.

Weird, interesting ambiance because the place is a furniture store as well as a restaurant. And they sell some rather unusual pieces. You definitely need to take a stroll through the surprisingly big store before or after your meal.

The owner was really friendly and came to our table to check on us and chat for a bit. Made us skype with some girl on his phone - kinda odd, but funny.

4 stars only because our waitress had a bit of an attitude. Like we were bothering her with ridiculous requests like ordering stuff... But not enough to mess with a great evening.

All in all well worth a visit!

Well we visited again for lunch, had a beer and this time the Turkish pizza which like all the other pizzas we have eaten there over the years was excellent. The wood burning oven gets the right level of crispness, which so many US pizza joints seem to miss. Pizza is not flabby, soft dough smothered with gloopy cheese. OK..I'm a pizza snob but having had a partner who lived in Italy for 2 years, the' Domino' effect is a sad bastardisation of a simple dish!

Onto the staff, which we've always found to be cheerful and yup the lady running the joint has a personality, which I'm sure shines through if she gets an awkward client. We have NEVER had any problems!

So if you want a simple meal, cooked fresh, a tasty bowl of soup and a beer in a furniture showroom then this is the place to go. Do not be put off by the location....it really does work and they play some great music at just the right level of intrusion.

    All in all a winner.....

This Place is one to skip. I own a motel and restaurant in town and used to send a good amount of business their  way. never again. We have always had problem with the surly attitudes and lack of attention table side. We only would go because my kids liked the pizza, food is incredibly overpriced as well, a $7  small water glass of so so wine? This visit the woman groaned and rolled her eyes as we entered, as if bothering her. We soon discovered she was much more interested in her magazine than anything else. My daughter got up 5 times to ask for things as she wouldn't even look up. Our meals sat at the counter for at least 10 minutes before we caught the cooks eye and he got her to bring it over. she is incredibly rude and just plain should not be in the front of the house. No responses from her, no checking up on us, no offerings of anything to drink or desserts, no clearing of the table.... I could go on and on.  I will now steer everyone away from this place, removing their menu from my book of places in town for our guests. Too bad as Alp is a nice guy.

I've had bad dining experiences before, but only once have I left a restaurant and swore I'd never step foot in it again: the last time I ate at Depot 62. This had been one of our regular places to eat in Manchester. While the service was often short of excellent, the food was good and we liked the setting. But then we received the most inexcusably rude, unpleasant treatment we could imagine by restaurant staff. Shocked, we mentioned it to the manager, but she dismissed it, made excuses and didn't apologize. Definitely not the way to treat regular customers -- or any customers. I'm sticking with my vow to never go there again. Besides, there are far better restaurants in Manchester.

Very unique experience. Not as weird as the other reviewers made it out to be. IKEA has a dining area, and Depot 62 actually has nice, high-end furniture. The earthy ethnic tone made the dining experience rather romantic and cozy. The pita with leeks and the turkish lamb pizza were both excellent (see pics).

HORRIBLE service. Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food but the poor service will prevent me from ever coming again. Two months ago I bought an (expensive) ottoman from the furniture store of Depot 62. They awarded me a 2-for-1 entree coupon toward a future restaurant purchase. Tonight when I handed the coupon to the waitress, she didn't recognize it. The owner then came over & said that the coupon was no longer valid because it was made 6 years ago (there was no expiration date!). After we explained that we only got it two months ago, she begrudgingly agreed to honor it - although it was clear she didn't believe us. She then told me that they ran out if what I wanted to order, along with 3 other menu items. I had to swat away flies while waiting for our food. While the food was yummy, the rude service killed the whole experience & will prevent me from returning. My husband also overheard the owner complaining about us when he walked to the bathroom. So nice.

This is a furniture store with tables in the middle for  the restaurant. Nice feel to it.  The food portions are very small and very pricey. Especially the salmon! Dont expect any service. They are not really cut out for that. I had to go up to the counter to order my food, Too pricey!!!

My husband and I had dinner at the Depot Cafe in Manchester Center last night. Very funky inside you enter a furniture store, with what looks like exotic furniture...you look around and see a few people sitting at tables, otherwise there are are tables but they seem too ornate to sit at. Not to worry you can sit anywhere there is a table. The wait person was a very friendly young woman,as soon as I looked at the menu I said some of these things sounds Turkish,so my husband asked the wait person who told us the owner was Turkish and the cook was Bosnian.
The food was served in clay dishes presented on a pizza paddle. The food came to the table still bubbling and stayed hot through out. My husband had the Guvec, a casserole of lamb and eggplant with fresh tomatoes, onion and garlic he deemed it very good. I had the Adana chicken breast with a side dish of yogurt, mint and garlic . The chicken was very moist and tasty. They also serve pizzas that looked really yummy and the salads that went to the different tables were huge and certainly appetizing.
Maybe a tad expensive but considering they are using organic ingredient such as lamb and the chicken well worth it.

    Good, easy, yummy food.

Been on this very critical reviewing street lately (actually just decided I should be more critical so its actually beginning now) but Im only giving 3 stars. Its good. But its not all CAPS good with an exclamation point at the end good.

Had the lentil soup and it was very hearty and fresh and wholesome. But thats all I had so I dont know why I am reviewing it....I checked in so I thought Id try and shed as much light as a simple soup and a simple check in could.

    Thanks for reading.

    :)

P.S. oh ya, service is a little slow? Only a question mark because it kinda was....but not really enough to write about.....but ill write about it to make the pros and cons on an even level.

Eclectic cafe in the middle of a furniture shop. Food was good but very pricy for what it was. Wines looked reasonably priced, but didn't try them. Service was only ok.

My husband and I have been to this place twice. Mainly because we were looking for a cup of coffee. The first time we waited at the counter for over 10 minutes and no one even acknowledged our presence. So we left after letting them know how unsatisfied we were with the service. We got no reaction.
The second time, several months later, once again needing some coffee, we stopped by. Unfortunately, we were faced with the same reception as the previous time. Because I was not willing to drive around looking for coffee, after a couple of minutes of simply being ignored, I stood in front of one of the servers and forced my order. We purchased two cups of coffee and a couple of cookies from their counter. No smiles, no thank you, no idea of good customer service.
It is too bad there is no Starbucks here and I'm certain we will not be going back.
It is a shame because their coffee was decent.

Excellent  pizzas, salads, appetizers, and desserts (we didn't try the middle-eastern inspired entrees), quirky atmosphere (literally in the middle of a furniture store).  One of very few places in town that vegetarians actually have more than one menu option to choose from.  It's also a nice reasonably-priced (while still entirely satisfying) alternative to all of the super swank restaurants in town.

This place is so strange and wonderful.  I was in town looking for a nice dinner and this was one of the few places that offered genuine vegetarian food.  The rest of the places in town had what I like to describe as "token" vegetarian dishes: you know, veggie plates with no protein alternative/pastas with whatever their side dish is thrown on/etc.  Serious "why bother" veggie options.

The rave for this place was actual appetizers and meals built around a non-meat item.  I had these caramelized leeks that were as tender and delicious as sweet Amish butter.  Served with house-made pita.  And had a black olive, asparagus and feta pitza (pita-bread kind of dough made into pizza).  followed by one of the top 5 tiramisus I've ever had (qualifier: two of the best five I've had in Little Italy).

The best part?  on top of the great food the restaurant is in the middle of an antique store.  as in there's great old furniture on both sides of you.  I'm not sure what was there first, the kitchen or the furniture store.  The food is affordable and generous.  The furniture is pretty swank, but priced well above Pier One standards.

Wifey and I stuck the older son with watching the younger one so we could buzz down from Stratton for a date night. It seems a bit dangerous to take your wife to the casual brick oven cafe ... in the middle of a high priced furniture store. However, in spite of the large collection of  interesting pieces,  wifey let my VIsa escape unscathed except for dinner.

Dinner was very good. We ordered some apps (a baba ganoush like eggplant dip; hummus; an arugula salad) and a lamb pizza. All very good to excellent. Friendly service in a motherly sort of way ('no, you don't want to order that, it's too much food - you should try this over here"). They had none of the red wines by the glass that were listed (and those were all simple value wines), but no matter, the quaffer Cotes du Rhone they offered was pleasant enough. I'd come back.

We shopped in Manchester and stopped here for a bite at a friends suggestion. The best meal I ate all weekend long.  I ordered the lentil soup, which was made with red lentils and was delish!!  In addition we ordered the arugula salad which was the freshest, tastiest ever...and lastly the mushroom pizza...OMG, fire roasted, perfect ratio of mushrooms to cheese, and that thin brick oven crust was perfection.

Here's the best part, you can order your food and your wine, then walk around the store and shop!! Very beautiful home furnishings there..by the time I was finished perusing the store, my wine arrived....oh!!  we also ordered the hummous which was fantastic, and I make my own, this was on par to perfection....with the home made pita bread that came out warm....so I now shopped and now I'm eating an app and having a glass of wine, perfect place. A must stop when in Manchester!!

While I was visiting Vermont during Memorial Day weekend, we decided to stop at Depot 62 for lunch before we headed to the Manchester Outlets for some shopping. A friend in our group had mentioned she had seen the reviews on Yelp and suggested we try it out. I thought the place was cute, the service was okay, the food was pretty good. It's a Mediterrean place, so for started we ordered the hummus and pita, I ordered the argula salad (which was really tasty and probably something I will re-create at home. We ordered a bunch of pizzas, we ordered the argula pizza, the mushroom pizza(which had 3 kind of mushrooms on it and probably my favorite of all the pizzas considering mushrooms aren't even my fav veggie), a margarita pizza, and a pepperoni pizza. While the food was very good and fresh, I thought the service was lacking. We had 3 families with kids and needed to make sure everyone had a seat so we were going to push two tables together but the women told us not to and that we should wait for another family who was just about to leave and then she would seat us there instead. I also think the waitress should have been a little more careful about where she was placing the pizzas given that there were a lot of small kids sitting at the table. Placing a piping hot pizza in front of a baby's chair is probably not the smartest idea. Nonetheless, the food was good and fresh and great for an afternoon lunch.

.I had the mushroom pizza and thought it was good. It did have good flavors and the crust was good, but I didn't think it was THAT good. I've definitely had better pizza more worthy of 4 or 5 stars. I didn't try the dishes cooked in a clay pot, and perhaps I would have enjoyed the food better if I had. The ambiance is interesting. It truly is smack dab in the middle of an antique/furniture store. It is fun to walk around and browse at the furniture while your dinner is cooking. Overall, the pizza is worth checking out, but I thought there were better overall dining options in Manchester.

Fantastic pizza. Ultra fresh, bright flavors,  wood fired, crispy, chewy. Delicious. Some of the best I've ever had. Lemon evoo dressing for green salad is exceptional. Amazing table in the bow if the restaurant / furniture / rug store. Have to see it to believe it. Well worth the trip.

I met a couple at the hotel I was staying at and chatted them up about local places to go to in the area. They live close to Manchester so recommended 62 as a place they love and locals go. That enough sounded good to me so my boyfriend and I checked it out.

I saw the sign for the Depot 62 which looked like an antique store from the front, when you go it to the cafe you see a cute and large dining area in the middle of the store. As we walked in the guy at the bar told us to sit anywhere we like.

The menu was brick oven pizza's on one side and regular dinner plates on the other. We decided to go with a Tomato, Basil, Mozzarella pizza and the lamb special baked in a clay pot.

The pizza was awesome. They come in a 12" size sizzling right out of the oven. You can even watch the person making it as the oven is near the sitting area.

The lamb special was excellent. The pot was boiling when it arrived at the table. It was the most tender meat inside swimming in hot seasoned juices. Along with that came a side of onion, tomatoes, and flat bread.

For dessert we got a lemon and mango sorbet. They came in each fruit hollowed out with the sorbet inside. So refreshing.

The server lady looked like she may have been the owner. She was very friendly. The prices were very reasonable. Pizza's were $10-$14 and entrees were $16-$20. There is small wine list as well as beer.

After your meal take a walk around the store and check out the goods. The selection was very exotic.

On a recent trip to VT we stopped here for some pizza.  Gourmet pies in a wood oven.  You can't beat that.  Its also in an antique shop, which VT seems to have a lot of.  Their card says "a simply fresh, natural & organic eatery."  Nice atmosphere and friendly people.  And everything is for sale...even the paintings in the bathroom!

The most improbable collection of good food and retail items I have ever encountered in one place, Depot 62 serves as a kind of high-end pizza joint for adults.  You can get a low-end glass of wine or a beer.  You can order cool ethnic food like chicken served in a sort of tandori oven-roasted style or lamb prepared with Turkish flare.  Never count on understanding the server's accent, but know it is clean, polite, and reliably fresh.  Not romantic, but a very good spot to read your morning paper with lunch or chat casually with a friend.  Go for the food and think of the atmosphere as your surreal Turkish bizarre composed of 5K goodies.

When I first walked into this place I was heartbroken.  After reading earlier reviews - both here and elsewhere - I imagined this cozy, creeky old antique shop/restaurant with a wood-burning hearth in the middle.  While this was an antique shop it could not have been further from what I imagined.  First, Manchester Center is not quaint like the red-barn lined towns that dot Vermont.  It's a shopping (perhaps Outlet Mall) destination and that's very much reflected here.

But I got past that in short order because I wasn't here for over-priced wall hangings, I was here for food.  Truly, the food did not disappoint (but that's reflected in the price, which was a bit steep).  My partner and I split an appetizer and an entree and opted for water with lemon in order to keep the tab down.  For lunch, this was totally appropriate because the portions we received were large enough to share without over-stuffing us.

We shared the braised leeks, with carrots and onions, and the lamb cooked in a clay pot.  Both were truly outstanding and hit the spot on a cold, blustery Vermont day.  Everything was seasoned just right, a good balance of sweet and savory/oil and acid, and we inhaled everything that we were served.

The staff was also super friendly - not rude in the least.  Let's face it, sometimes when you don't order two entrees, certain servers get a little attitude-y with you.  Not the case at all - they were all smiles.  Although, the clientele seemed to be a bit ridgid in that "let's discuss what to put in the sun-room of our summer/country house" kind of way.  Despite this. it's a pretty relaxed/casual place.  If it wasn't in Manchester Center, I'd totally go back.  But, I don't care for outlet mall induced traffic.

My mom and I were visiting Vermont and by word of mouth heard about Depot 62. When we pulled up we thought it was closed until we opened up the door and saw the cafe was actually open.

No one told us it was a cafe inside a furniture store, so we were a little confused at first. Everything seemed really neat but I felt a little too uncomfortable to walk around - everyone coming through the door knew everyone else who was there, and the people who sat next to us stared at us through the whole meal.

I got a pizza and it was good, though nothing I'm going to be craving back in New York.

The sign on the door said they were open until 11PM, something that's good to know for the future.

Stopped by here for a cup of coffee, since it was the only place open in all of Manchester on Easter Sunday and I needed a caffeine boost after driving for 3 hours. Went in and it's a combined furniture store with a long table and a woodfire pizza oven in the middle. It felt like you were in someone's large home with the kitchen in the middle. They have unique pieces of furniture and it was fun to just walk around and take a look around while sipping my coffee. They didn't do mochas though, but I just asked her to throw in some cocoa in mine and it came out fine. Nice place and I'd consider going back there for a pizza come snack time.
