I'm sad that we missed this bar on our recent party bus tour of the Wank. But I do think it's a solid entry, although I've eaten here more often than drank.
If you have vegetarians with you, the menu can be difficult. But it covers the bar basics along with a number of Louisiana specialties to catch the tourists getting off the ferry. Â None of the food is spectacular but much of it is solid.
They get a 4th star because one of the last times I ate here they treated our 80+ year old host like the visiting royalty that he deserved.
Sweet mother of all that is holy. Â I do not like this place at all. Â Its on the westbank on the corner of River Road and Louisiana Ave. Â As lifetime westbanker, i usually try to not hate on westbank places, however "Haters gonna Hate!" Â First off, I didn't want to give it one star b/c the drinks are reasonably priced. Â So thats the good I guess.
Lets move onto the bad. Â As an ex smoker, I try to stay away from smokey places, and I hate when I come home from a bar and smell like smoke all over. Â When I walked into this place I seriously thought I walked into a room filled with a thick fog. Â Blaaaaah!
In the meantime the bartender (girl) was too busy flirting with one of the guy customers to even acknowledge I wanted a drink. Â Later on in the night I was granted the EXTREME pleasure of watching her "Booty Pop" on the bar so she can show the guy she was flirting with how nice her ass was.
Oh, and there is also and apartment on top of the bar. Â One of the people living there came down in their pajamas to have a drink....
Jesus tap dancing Christ this place is classy!
I have to be fair though, the bar does not try to be classy and pretty much embraces what it is. Â So if you like all the things I just decribed then go for it!
