This is a gem. There is nothing else like this in Greenwich and it's surrounding areas. Perfect location for great food. If you like Interior design, this is even more so a place for you.

It has just been renovated so it is so much more enjoyable. The owners have great chic taste. Anything from the soups, finger sandwiches, or some scones are delectable treats. If you're ever in Cos Cob, CT and find yourself wandering around, take a step off the post road and have some tea :)

Fantastic!  This is my favorite hidden little gem in all of Greenwich.  Delicious coffee, teas, scones, sandwiches, etc .  Every time I stop by, my mood is instantly enhanced; there is always a sweet smell in the air, inviting you in to enjoy the warm and welcoming vibes.   Most recently, I came by and discovered they had converted the boutique space into a gallery (the boutique is now adjacent on the Post Road.) This was such a great idea.  They gallery adds to the cool ambiance of the café and is exactly what Cos Cob needed (not another bank!)  Recommendations:  Chicken salad sandwich, the daily soups and the ginger/green/citrus tea is amazing.

My husband and I treat ourselves to lunch at The Drawing Room every week.  I have to say it is definitely an indulgence.  The food is absolutely delicious. Everything is fresh and made to order, so you should not eat here if you are in a hurry, it takes time to make food this good.  The chef, Angus, really knows what he is doing.  But with choices like Croque Monsier, Croque Madam, gourmet grilled cheese with heirloom tomatoes (all on grilled brioche), gourmet quality turkey with all kinds of fancy ingredients, quiches, etc. you are in high calorie, high fat, high carb heaven.  But it is so worth it!  Mind you, you can get salads and healthy soups (which are surprisingly good), but the scones and huge dessert selection are too hard to pass up.  You can also get traditional high tea, with finger sandwiches, and scones, and pastry. We have never had a bad meal here.

As I said we've been coming here on a weekly basis for a long time.  We've gotten to know the servers by name and I have nothing but good things to say about them all. Hannah and Joe are very pleasant and efficient, but Kim is outstanding.  She goes so far above and beyond the call of duty that my husband and I have nicknamed her "Kimpossible," because everything is possible with Kim.  No, we are not her personal friends, it is just that she never fails to impress and she has managed to produce our favorite scones even when they were sold out (I think she has a secret stash somewhere).  Whatever the servers are getting paid, it should be more because they make a good dining experience great.

Drawbacks:  1. The place is small and if you come at the wrong time you may have a long wait for a table. 2. The Drawing Room is not open for dinner, and I think that is a big mistake, a lot of people cannot come for lunch, even on weekends. 3. They were forced by the town of Greenwich to stop table service on their beautiful patio, so if you want to eat outside you must place an order to go and bring it out there yourself. 4. They take credit cards, but not American Express.

I am lucky to work a few blocks away from this hidden gem on a side street in Cos Cob. I ordered coffee here once, and have been dying to return for lunch. So, one day I treated my self and relaxed at a cozy corner table at The Drawing Room. I entered through the lovely gift shop, and was greeted immediately by the hostess. The menu includes an assortment of finger sandwiches, quiches, salads, baked goods, tea, and coffee. Seating is very limited and service is unhurried, but I had enough time to enjoy a frisee salad with poached egg and a pot of Vanilla Chai on my lunch hour. I had the oatmeal raisin cookie for dessert. Everything was excellent, but prices are very high. $25 lunch will be an occasional indulgence, but not a practical lunch spot. This is a perfect place to catch up with friends. Cozy, charming atmosphere like a British tea house, and fresh, homemade food with warm, and welcoming, service can easily make the Drawing Room my favorite spot in Greenwich.

I love this place no matter what time of year. In the winter, the tomato cheddar soup with their homemade croutons is a must! In the summer, definitely try the heirloom tomato, avocado and tarragon mayo sandwich served on a brioche. But if you are feeling dainty, order the assorted Finger Sandwiches and a scone to go. Of course the trip is not complete without a delish tea, hot or cold. A personal fav, Hot Mamma or Ginger Citrus Peach.
Hope you enjoy as much as I do.

The Drawing Room has been on my to-do list for quite some time. Not only because it's a few blocks from my apartment, but because there's just not a ton to do in Greenwich. Unless you've got kids, no job, and an alcohol problem....in which case you're rich and drunk driving them to tennis lessons and violin practice and the sitter's and misery.

The drawing room houses really cute home decor in their shop, candles and trinkets by Jonathan Adler, throw pillows, cook books, and baubles. It's quiet here and I like that. The actual tea room is teensy with maybe only 4 tables indoors, but capability for more during the summer months when their patio is open. There is a nice selection of Savannah Bee Company honey and honeycomb, looseleaf teas, scones, and cookies. I went simple with a Cafe Latte and a coconut pecan cookie. Both were delicious. The cookie was crunchy/crumbly and the coffee was 3rd degree burn hot (but not burnt!), be careful if you're taking it to-go. They also use those great Solo to-go lids where it has the little slider window so you can actually open/shut the cup. Not some flimsy tab or open gap where coffee is prone to fountain out of when you hit a pothole and spill coffee all over your boyfriends upholstery. -_-

The atmosphere was calm, no cackling wasps talking about their hedge fund, no babies screaming, no baristas on cell phones. I only wish they were open on Sundays, too.

Connecticut just doesn't get any love. Not that I'm saying it deserves any - this city girl has spent way too much time fighting all the Stepford wives for space in line at the Greenwich Whole Foods to develop any suburban sympathies. No, what I'm more concerned about is the fact that most yelpers avoid CT like the plague is affecting ME. I can no longer rely on Yelp to provide me with info on all the hottest spots in town, because the businesses in these towns are lucky if they get 1 review to their name. Maybe the dearth of CT reviews is because there aren't any "hot spots" in Connecticut... fair enough, but I'm going to branch out and explore a little first.

So in search of a coffee shop that doesn't have a green mermaid as its logo, I ventured away from Greenwich... into the neighboring town, Cos Cob. One thing that the United States generally lacks, and that Cos Cob amazingly HAS: a cute British-style tea room that serves afternoon tea (yes, with the little finger sandwiches).  Also included in the tea are scones with clotted cream - well, one scone, and you get to pick what flavor. They have more interesting varieties than just the traditional plain and currant flavors found in the UK. Their prices, however, are very authentic and close to what I've paid for tea in London ($26 for one? Not quite Fortnum & Mason, yeah, but still...)

One reason why this place hasn't been "discovered" yet may be because it's on a side street just off of the main road, and sort of hidden. It also has an adjacent shop in which you can buy pretty housewares and all sorts of little trinkets.

So I guess there's still hope for Connecticut. The NYC suburbs, at least. Let's not get started on Stamford, Bridgeport or New Haven...

The Drawing Room is a little slice of heaven in Cos Cob! It's a small tea room that serves many delicious cakes, pastries, cookies, sandwiches, soups, etc and a variety of different teas and some coffees as well. It's bright and adorably-decorated interior is cheerful and inviting! The tea room itself has a handful of tables, and they sell pretty home furnishings in the entryway (coffee table books, pretty glassware, pillows, throw blankets, art, honey holders, etc).

I went here for the first time today with my mom for an early tea and snack. She had been here a handful of times before and was always trying to get me to join her. I'm so happy that I finally did! It's one of my new absolute favorite local spots now.

This morning I had the Peppermint Rooibos tea and a raisin granola scone. They served the scone with clotted cream and raspberry jam! It was heavenly. I got the smallest pot of tea, which was supposed to be about 2 cups, but I drank about 4 full cups from the pot, so if you just want a little tea, maybe you could split the small pot of tea with a friend.

One thing I appreciated about this place was that they sell their own loose tea! It's hard to find that around here, and the bags would make great gifts.

I highly recommend The Drawing Room to ANY tea lover! Come here for cute gifts as well. The style in here is very shabby-chic, a la Anthopologie.
