Dublin Pub is the back up plan to my back up plan. Generally speaking, the food is nothing to write home about. Appetizers are standard fare. Horseshoes are so-so. Cheese sauce isn't great. Pizza tastes frozen. Really its only saving grace is that you can usually get in pretty quickly and it's open pretty late. And the half price Bloody Marys on Sundays. Sunday brunch is okay, but you aren't missing much. Service has always been spotty. Two stars is generous.
Review Source:Sadly, my experience at Dublin Pub wasn't what I was hoping for. When my brother and I arrived to experience the Springfield culture of the horseshoe, we were greeted with slow and scattered service. I think there were a total of 3 people all trying to manage the hostess location, which seemed to just make things worse than if they just allowed one person to handle it. On top of that, I was told that the wait would only be 10-15 minutes, and 10 minutes later, I was still 5th in line on the list. Additionally, there were tables empty in the dining area, and it wasn't because there was a lack of staffing.
We eventually overheard that we could just sit at the bar, which wasn't given to us as an option when we first arrived, and so we just notified the hostess and ambled our way over to the bar - which was only about half full. We ordered our horseshoes, and it again seemed to take a very long time for our order to come out.
For a location primarily consisting of bar food, I was very disappointed in the overall service, and would recommend that you go to this place either on a slow day or when you plan on staying to have a beer or two.
This place is so hit and miss, after my last trip there I'm loathe to suggest this place to anyone. Â I helped convince a small holiday party to come here on a recent Sunday evening. Â Service was great, I have no dispute with that. Â The food, however, was far from it. Â The appetizer of chips and spinach artichoke dip was fine. Â The entrees were all messed up. Â A friend and I got hot wings. Â My first bite was STONE COLD. Â They were soggy and obviously just recently thawed out and barely warmed. Â Definitely did not see a fryer at any point in their existence. Â A friend's fried ravioli were probably fried at the factory, but not at the restaurant. Â Another friend had the Sirloin steak and said it wasn't the worst she's had. Â I think she was being nice. Â This experience bothers me because a week prior my family came here, sat outside on the patio and had a wonderful lunch. Â They need to work on their consistency before I would attempt to recommend this place again.
