This place just keeps getting worse and worse.  If it even happens to be open when you go there they most likely are out of anything you may actually want or if they do have it the prices are so ridiculous I've actually walked out many times in disgust. I really truly wish they would just pull it together. Offer food / drinks people actually WANT at a price that is reasonable to pay.  I can go to Urban Pantry or South Loop Pantry just blocks away and have a great selection and reasonable "convenience store" prices.   Neither of those places seem to be having any issue with business.

This establishment is pushing the fact it is under new management.  Part of this is that they are now offering "gourmet" sandwiches at the gourmet price of $7.  And when I say $7 is the price of the sandwich, I mean exactly that.  It is not the price of a combo, just the sandwich.  The person at the cash register claimed that $1 is taken off when purchased with a soda and chips.  The receipt shows everything was charged at the full price and then $0.01 was deducted.  So much for $1.00 off.

Unlike 7-11 which uses plastic wrap to keep the bread from being exposed to the air, East Coast Pantry puts their sandwiches into plastic clam shells.  The result is that the top layer of bread ends up stale.  Considering that 7-11 sandwiches are less than $5 and East Coast Pantry charges $7 for a sandwich with stale bread, I really wonder about the value of East Coast Pantry.

Considering that Potty Belly and Jimmy Johns are also available a short distance from East Coast Pantry, I don't see much benefit from their over-priced under-quality sandwiches.  The so-called $1.00 off scam which really amounted to $0.01 off just provides further proof of the lack of quality and care for customers this place has.  It is best avoided.

This convenience store/pantry (and I use the terms lightly), had NO milk today. No whole milk. No 2%. No skim. No gallons. No half gallons. No pints. No individual cartons. Nothing. Zilch. Zero. Nada. This place is now officially the most useless convenience store ever. Ever, ever. Ever, EVER, ever.
