It's a fine Irish pub. Â Not nearly as large or as nice as it's sibling location in Montclair.
A decent selection of beers, and all of the food is a solid version of what's more or less your standard bar food. Â However, they do offer a variety of interesting dinners, though admittedly I have yet to have dinner there.
The back outdoor patio is nice in the warmer weather.
Amazing interior!! Â Very well done. Â Too nice for that area of west orange but very welcome. Â The menu is limited and the food is just ok. Â Some things are better then others. Fish and chips and nachos are decent and the burger was good but small, doubt it was 8oz as advertised. Â Definitely pass on the fish tacos but get the sweet potato fries they are good. Â The bread pudding for desert was a miss. Â Service is strange. It's almost as if a bunch of inexperienced kids are running the place while their parents are away. Â Also too many bus boys. Â Place is never busy and they constantly see if your finished because they have nothing else to do. Â Waitresses could easily do that job too. Â
3 stars because it is the best place in downtown West Orange.
While the bar staff here are way friendlier than the Montclair location, I didn't find the food to be on par. Â Ordered the ribs, which I regularly order in Montclair. Â Seemed completely different and so full of fat I was unable to finish them. Â Coleslaw completely different as well. Â For the same prices, I would have expected more consistency.
