I like this place a lot. I eat lunch here a few times a week. Good food & excellent service. But beware...they charge you an extra $1.50 for chips & salsa without advising you in advance. They just bring them automatically and then there's an extra $1.50 on your bill. I'd prob give them 5 stars if they started telling you that in advance.
Review Source:After performing a late night gig, we headed here for a food run.
First and foremost, the service here is great! The waitresses and the cooks are attentive and very nice, but I wish I could say good stuff about their Taco meat.
I wouldn't know about their Carne Asada, since I only ordered Tacos de Suadero. The Suadero here was very unusual, because it seemed much like pulled pork, and I believe it was a bit undercooked.
Their overly watered-down agua de horchata didn't make things any better.
Surprisingly, this is first Mexican restaurant I've seen that serves what I believed was sour cream with chips & salsa.
Man, this is by far my favorite Mexican Restaurant. I haven't ate here in awhile since i moved a little north and I work a lot. So I managed to eat here twice in the last week, and since I ate here the first time in the last week, I've been having cravings!!!!!!!!
Just right now I'm having cravings which made me  write this review.
I love the Carne Asada here, I prefer to eat here rather than take it to go. Especially because I love their chips and salsa. They also serve sour cream with their chips, which I quite enjoy. lol
I don't have anything bad to say about this place, except no one can park within the parking lines right next to the building but that's not Taconazo's fault.
Not much a review on the types of food, I usually just get a torta or some tacos but I had to voice on how good these guys are and give them a five star rating.
They only get 4 stars cause their service is horrendous, but I've got to say it's my utmost fav taqueria.. My go to.. I love their salsa and chips and my favs are tacos and tostadas de carne asada. MMMMmmmm!! My hubby loves the sope de camaron (shrimp soup) and jugo de tamarindo! Can't go wrong other than replacing their staff... Â ;)
Review Source:My favorite place to come for tacos.
The tacos al pastor are made GREAT unlike other places where its suggy an such. They are cut into small cube squares so if they fall of the tortilla u can easy pick it up with your fork, or hand.
The al pastor (seasoned pork) meat you can see it cooking on the turning machine an they cut it from there when you order.
The food here is delicious from everything I have tried. My wife likes the chips with the salsas they give you when your gonna eat in.
Only downside they only accept Cash and not credit cards. Theres also no alcohol
This is their north side location. They have two south side locations.
This is definitely one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Chicago.
They have the best torta. I always get torta de milanesa (breaded steak) and a strawberry milkshake. The pork tacos, and the enchiladas are also delicious.
If your ever in the area this is definitely a great place to grab a satisfying bite to eat or satisfy a late night crave.
Came here Sat. evening after a hard days work. Â I was so hungry so I ordered a Torta - which is bread, meat, beans, sour cream and cheese. Â They charge you extra for the sour cream and cheese however. Â The rice water is really tasty. Â
There was a lot of Mexican families in there and then two african american people came in screaming about how everytime they come here people won't stop staring at them. Â I thought that was really weird because they came in screaming so of course people are going to stare at them! Â Nobody cares who comes in! Â When you're being loud and obnoxious who will NOT look. Â duh.
