Strictly giving ENCORE a five star because of the friendliness of the staff.
I don't know what it is with Seattle clubs, but I guess I'm used to being treated like BS when going to Seattle clubs, so going to ENCORE was definitely refreshing. The VIP manager, I believe it's Rick (?) got us a booth on my birthday the night of, which was pretty awesome. Even the bar service at our booth was super cute and super nice. I mean, complete 180 compared to what I'm used to.
Not only that, but it was refreshing not having to run into the same crowd and not having the bouncers make us wait for 15 minutes outside when the club is virtually empty. Instead, we got to the doors, Friday night around 11pm. No line, and the bouncers let us in super quick. We had full service going on at our booth and the place filled in around 11:30? It wasn't as busy on a Friday night, but I could really careless. The music was ok, the DJ seemed to spin a block of R&B and hip hop for a couple songs, then switched to a block of EDM, then back to R&B and hip hop and so on and so on.
The only downside to this place was the fact that they were being super slack on dresscode. They say it's an ultra lounge, but they'll probably let you in with a nice top and jeans. *shrugs* oh well. I'll go in looking good regardless. HAAAAY GUUURRRRRLL HAAAAAAY!!!!!
I went out dancing with my girlfriend last Friday and had an absolute blast! I can honestly say that this a great place to dance the night away w/ your best friend or your sweetheart and either way feel completely comfortable!!
We ordered bottle service to get the last table even tho we arrived somewhat late (11:30), we still managed to score the last table and from the door we were treated like royalty! Every bodyguard made sure we were well taken care of especially Mr. Sood! He checked up on us continually to be sure we were having a wonderful experience but our server/waitress was positively amazing! J.J. is definitely the one you want serving you! She was such a sweetheart and so relate-able...she made us feel like we were super important as if we were her only V.I.P's for the night!
I will surely be making a trip back soon w/ my hunny!! Can't wait since I absolutely loved this place!!
We came here with a group of five on a Friday night. We came around 10:30 pm and it was empty but it filled up pretty quick. We bought a table and it was cheaper then what I expected. Service was great. We had a really good time. I'm glad there is actually a nice club in Tacoma. Definitely will come back.
Review Source:I held off on writing my review because I wanted to see how this club compares to others in the area. Â I can tell you now that this is THE BEST club from Seattle all the way down to Olympia. Â All of the staff are super friendly and you can tell that unlike some other clubs, they are trained to treat their customers very well. Â The bartenders are very knowledgeable, the bouncers are friendly and respectful and the servers are always quick with a smile. Â Every time we've gone we have had a blast! We especially love the photo booth that is set up in the front! Â Super original and fun idea!
I read a review that said that it compares to clubs in Seattle. Â I completely disagree. Â After going out in Seattle we decided that we will only go to Encore from now on. Â The vibe is so much better and we don't feel like we are going to get attacked when we go outside. Â
So, in a nutshell, if you're looking for a really great time with great mixologists, a pretty decent DJ line up and people that actually seem like they enjoy their job don't bother driving all the way to Seattle. This is where it's at! Â

I went to Encore for the first time on 2/18/12, a Saturday night. It was a mardi gras party and I had a awesome time! It has a very upscale night club atmosphere and the staff there were all very polite and professional. Good drinks, a tad spendy but that isnt unexpected. There is a strict dress code so come correct! Thus every one there looked lovely. My only beef with this place is that around the dance floor there is NO seating. Not unless you wanna spring for a VIP seating area and what not. So ladies bring flats to change into ha ha. To be perfectly honest I was having WAY more fun then the people in VIP who were either sitting around staring/hating or playing on their phones. The DJ was one of the best Ive heard in a long time, really knew how to guage the crowd and what they wanted. Started with old school jams and then mixed in more and more top 40. Even added some original mixes into it so I was very happy and danced the night away. On a side note I went with a group and most of which were lesbians, and it was not a issue at all! No weird looks or comments like some places. Â There was a ton of security guards, not in a bad way though. Made us ladies feel safe and not have to worry about a fight breaking out. Great people watching too BTW, most ppl come in their finest. Another side not to ladies: If you go up the stairs/ stand by the balcony people can SEE up your skirt! so plan accordingly for that.. A really great addition to down town Tacoma, dont have to drive forever to have a good time. I dont know if it is like this every night but we signed up for their txt message thing and didnt have to pay cover before 11 so that was nice too. I highly recomend you check it out!
Review Source:I had a blast here great atmosphere. Yes the club is small and there is VIP every where but honestly like some reviews this didn't bother me to much because the place had a great vibe and the bar tenders were great  on top of that the music was bumping. If you live in this area and don't want to drive almost an hour to Seattle for a great time hit this place up you won't be disappointed. Oh and the the waitresses were great and friendly and all very beautiful
Review Source:Great addition to downtown Tacoma, but falls short of a couple stars really. It is a little bit on the new side, but when your trying to present an elegant and classy nightclub it needs to have all the works done out. First, no coat check. Second, dress code isn't being enforced which isn't fair to others who have to dress up to get into the club. The staff seems to be on the friendly side which amazes me because most nightclubs don't know how to play nice most of the time.
The crowd is mixed and of course it's a nightclub so the drinks are on the expensive side and the girls already have a "brick wall" barrier to the guys who want to hook up so I suggest you practice your approach before coming to 'stuck up' land. The VIP looks to be a good theme for people who pay for it since it really is exclusive as Seattle and other metropolitan nightclubs have someone to actually make sure no one comes into the area.
Maybe I should give it another star but I feel that it is a bit on the small side and needs to live up a bit more to a great nightclub like those in Seattle and such.
First, I have to say I loved this place. I'd never went clubbing in Tacoma before, but this place was great! We got there kinda early on a Friday night (around 10:30pm), which was perfect because they still had tables available. If you don't get a table, there is free seating, but not very much. However, there's a lot of room to stand if you don't mind that. My group of 6 bought a table for the night and it was definitely worth it! We worked with K.C. to get a table and he was so wonderful to us :) I will for sure be contacting him again. The club does a great job with the space they have. I never felt cramped, even when the place started filling up.
I love Vegas, and this club has a definite "Vegas-y" feel to it. ADORED the decor and modern style. Friendly and accommodating staff, and were very professional. One of the guys in my group wasn't dressed completely to their code, but they were very understanding and let him come in as long as he took off his hat. Great security and awesome drinks! Our server JJ was so sweet and took care of us extremely well. When we go back, we're absolutely gonna request that she be our server again!
Anyone who rates this club down, is in my opinion a club rat and shouldn't be complaining about little superficial things like the patrons not being in "dress code". Sorry but that's ridiculous, lol. This place had excellent costumer service and my group and I had an amazing time :) That's all I care about. All of us agreed, its one of our go-to spots from now on.
I have to say that this bar is beautiful. great customer service and outstanding waitress service. The way they checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed was like no service we received before from any other bar. Two OUTSTANDING promoter's here were also on top of everything making sure we had everything (Billy S and Mike H). I will be back that is for sure! I would have to say this is a seattle grade bar in the Tacoma area! GO GO GO!!!
I think valet would be a nice touch, even though it is in Tacoma, the bar has all the qualities to pull it off.

I think the 1 review that is listed is from someone who works here or is somehow affiliated with this venue.
First off, I will say that the venue itself is pretty chic for a Tacoma club, that I give them! They do a good job trying to present a Vegas-style venue as they say with the security, decor and set-up... unfortunately what they fail to deliver in is the fact that this is Tacoma and they need to "check" the customers that they are attracting!!! They have a supposed "dress code" which obviously wasn't enforced:( and the DJ was pretty mediocre:( I heard something about Playboy bunnies being there that night but I don't think "local" Tacoma girls count as that!! hahahaha.... in other words didn't see anything close, not that I was looking. Must be a marketing ploy.
All in all the venue was okay, the drinks decent and the cover wasn't that bad, but again we are in Tacoma people, recognize that!
If you're looking for a premier, upper class, Vegas-style night club experience, this is the place to be. Dress to impress, standing room only (must make reservations for any seating area), you won't find any Tacoma-aroma riff-raff in here. Tristan's dad, the bartender, gives amazing service, and Rick, one of the managers, is very personable and friendly. Check out their Facebook page too!
Review Source:I personally love this place. It's waaaaay better then any ghetto place on 6th ave. The place inside is very nice and classy. The bartenders are great, if theres a huge line there's an upstairs bar as well. If you have bout $800 to spend on VIP for a bday or special occasion I recommend it because they go all out. No paying cover fee and no waiting in line. The upstairs is better for VIP. They pop and pour your bottles for you (thats what the girls get paid for) When your in VIP you get treated very nice :) The music there is also awesome. I will be spending my bday this saturday and I can't wait!! FYI there's perverts ANYWHERE you go!!
