Food was good, price was average with other similar places. Service was clumbsy, rushed, overly doting though well intentioned. Waitress spilled water all over table, reached across us several times, swooped in to take plates if you put ypur fork down for a second. Other waiter poured salad dressing all over table and floor, left it on floor. Our waitress dropped a clean fork on the floor, picked it up, wiped it on her leg and put it on the table she was setting up.

Noone seemed to have been trained, she tried to take our order without writing it down and immediately repeated it back to me wrong, i told her to get a pad and write it down and she still fumbled with getting it right.

We asked three people for our own take out box after watching the dirty fork drop and a few other things happen, it took three requests to get one of the fiveeople working in a restaraunt that had only three tables occupied.

We might go back, but maybe not. The waiters and staff need serious training, and the place was dead when we were ther, on a busy night it must be a disaster.

I was here for both dinner and lunch.. and enjoyed it on both occasions.

The selection for the $12 fixed menu was good but for a meat lover like me, it seemed limited at first (with only lamb and chicken dishes).  However, to my surprise, I enjoyed the eggplant and the cabbage stuff with lamb meat.

For dinner, the grilled meats were done nicely... and delicious.   The table next to us had a birthday party and the :"cake" was made of many drinking glasses filled with different color liquid 3 to 4 level high.  I was very impressed that the waitress carried it from the kitchen to the table with ease.   I certainly would not challenge her for an arm wrestling match for sure...

This place is located at the back of the building and may be hard to spot from the road.  Look hard for it as it will delight you.

In an area known for mediocre and overpriced restaurants, this new place was a very nice surprise.  It seems there have been a lot of new greek/turkish/kebob and this place trumps them all.  Four of us went last night and ordered an assortment of grilled meats and shrimp and one was tastier than the next.  The only negative -  I will agree with one of the other reviewers  in that our food was served warm (I like it hot), but once it's on the table, there isn't much you can do without starting from scratch.  The service was excellent, and I can't wait to try one of the stuffed breads next time.  We will be back soon!

Just had lunch here.  For $12 one gets a choice of 2 appetizers and a main course.  The food was delicious, but was served just warm.  I like my hot food served really hot.   Everything was fresh and service attentive.  I don't love lamb, but tried it in the stuffed cabbage and it was very tasty and not gamey at all.  Babaganoush  was lighter and fluffier than most.  Yummy bread to dip in olive oil.

Its pretty inside, but a little boring.  I hope the owners can make a go of it.

Pleasant surprise in Tenafly, NJ! However, I'm concerned that they're not doing enough advertising and the entrance/facade leaves something to be desired (pretty bare bones). We couldn't tell from the outside of the building how nice the inside actually is (exposed brick, large viewing window into the kitchen, Mediterranean jazz playing in the background) or what type of food they're serving. Europe Cafe serves up a great Lebanese lunch special - $12 per person for three courses! The food is expertly prepared of fresh, authentic ingredients. Portion sizes are good and presentation is lovely. This is a nice little spot and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that more locals discover it. This is a tough neighborhood for business as rent prices are so high. Europe Cafe is in a particularly difficult location - hopefully they don't suffer the same fate as their last three predecessors in what appears to be a doomed building. The food and pricing of this new restaurant stand up nicely to many of Bergen County's Lebanese/Armenian/Turkish restaurants (i.e. the competition) and I would definitely dine here again/recommend to others.
