Probably my favorite restaurant in the Philly area. The food is (recently) never frozen, tons of beers to choose from, and the staff is probably the friendliest you'll ever encounter in East Falls.

The prices aren't ridiculous either. A perfect place for an after work drink or a relaxed dinner. The menu is small, but they put a ton of variety in everything on the menu

Took some out of town fellow workers to Falls 2 weeks ago and we had a great meal. Everyone enjoyed their food and drink. It was a work related event so I was using the company credit card. Did not pay attention to the bill as closely as I should have. The bill came in around $200 which I thought was close to what we should have been paying and our waitress was fine so I put my usual 20% tip in. Later my boss showed me that Falls had put an automatic gratuity for a party of 6 on the detail bill but had not put that on the credit card slip that I signed. So I wound up paying a $70 tip for a $170 tab. Have tried numerous times to contact owner about this but no one returns my calls.

Owner and crew went above and beyond, a totally remarkable and awesome performance, to help us out in a soggy bind......
May weekend, washout of my sons graduation celebration to be held out of doors. No tent, our poor planning.
From11AM to 3PM we drove around Philly and the burbs, stopping in and calling on proprietors inquiring as to their ability to accommodate 40-50 people. We'd pay anything at that point, lol. We were laughed at, rebuked and stared at in dismay. Then we hit the Taproom. We entered soggy and despaired. The Bartender gave us a business card and told us to call the owner. We did, and interrupted his lawn work :/. But he graciously and in a team spirit told me what he would have to do to help make this happen, from calling in staff early to ensuring kitchen was prepared. He called us back thirty minutes later and we were in!!!
What a fabulous night it turned out to be as well. The bartenders were amazing and so helpful. We ordered various off menu hors douevres , had open well drinks, beer, and wine for a per person price and basically turned the upper room into an all out party.  Loved every minute of it, and they were generous on the cost as well. So thoughtful.
I would highly recommend the Falls Taproom not only for their food and drinks, but for their awesomeness. They are what a community pub is truly about.
    Thank you guys!!!

Go there and get the charcuterie or go upstairs and have a cocktail. The bartenders are incredibly friendly and helpful. Good music upstairs too, has a jazz vibe.

Soooo, falls taproom is okay.  The reviews make it seem amazing, and, for East Falls, I suppose it is.  I think it used to be better with its old menu that had more options.  While I understand when super awesome restaurants cutdown their menu as their ingredients are much higher quality, a place like this needs more than a few burgers, sandwiches, and flatbreads.

Their beer menu in true hipster fashion written in chalk on the wall.  The price for the beers are not great, nor outrageous.  They are priced where you feel like you should order one, but if its not amazing, you'll miss those extra dollars.

As for the food, I've had a few things here that are all, decent.  The bison chili nachos are, meh.  First, while making your own tortilla chips is a nice touch, do them right, these were too oily and thick.  Sometimes, exotic names make dishes seem like they should be more impressive.  Adding "Bison" makes this seem like an impressive dish, but since most people know bison, in ground form, differs little from beef save for calories, you end up with...chili nachos.  It tastes like, mediocre chili on mediocre chips.  Not great.  Nachos are one thing we shouldn't try to make trendy.  I asked for salsa, they didnt have it, but they did have cilantro-lime crema....the next obvious choice.

The burgers are good, but, just good.  They have exotic spreads like red onion jam, and olive tapenade, but the meat was just okay.  I will say the fried pickles are pretty delish.  Nonetheless, the falls isn't brimming with amazing culinary options, and a place that offers good beer and good food is a place that I will be coming to again.

Huge beer selection, friendly staff, and a few spots for outdoor dining make this a great east falls place to eat or grab drinks. Prices similar to city gastropubs but with that east charm appeal. Definitely worth stopping in if you are a beer snob and looking for a place in the area to try.

Great beer  on tap (usually), great food (when they actually have everything on their menu), horrible service.

I recommend the seitan wings and black bean burger with grilled pineapple, and habenaro jelly.

I love this place! It has s fantastic beer list, both on tap and in bottles. The food is simple yet more than enough to eat in a meal. We tried the fried pickles, which were amazing. I had the black bean burger and my friend had the chicken sandwhich. We were stuffed! The wait staff was a bit slow in terms of bringing out our meal and bill compared with other tables, but we would def come back again!

I look forward to visiting the Falls Taproom at least once a week. The food is exceptional and vegetarian-friendly. The kitchen is very accommodating if I request to have something prepared other than the way it is presented on the menu. The atmosphere, beer selection, and even the music played makes for a relaxing, pleasurable experience every single time.

As for the reviewers who are whining about the slow service, perhaps McDonald's Drive-Thru is better suited to your needs. I find the staff to be extremely warm and friendly, and I am greeted enthusiastically when I visit. Made-to-order food of high quality takes time to prepare. A crowded bar and dining room takes time to tend to. If you're in a hurry, perhaps dining in a bar, where people are known to relax and socialize for hours, is not the most appropriate venue for your needs. Chill.

I reviewed Falls Taproom in the past and gave a genuinely honest good review. I understood the slow service, because the food was great. However, when i went for dinner on Friday, it was truly the last straw. My husband is the General Manager of a Philadelphia restaurant and I am a former server. So before you dismiss this, please understand that we are about the MOST forgiving table you can have.
Let's start with the server. A blond girl with a kerchief on her head who speaks to you as though you are disturbing her. I was annoyed with her the last 2 times I went in for her flippant attitude, but this time I just couldn't take it. As someone who served for a decade in very good restaurants, I can tell you that there is NEVER an excuse for making your guest feel like they are imposing. I ordered the same salad that I always get, the Grilled Pear Salad. I love it. Or should I say, "loved" it. When it came out I immediately knew it was different, but I assumed it was presentation. We also ordered the Garlic Parmesan Wings, which I literally crave.
The once cravable wings were mediocre. The salad was awful. A pile of Arugula in a sour vinaigrette with under ripe pears that were hard as a brick. When the server walked by, never checking in on us, we caught her attention so I could ask about a missing ingredient that I was used to seeing in the salad. I was told, as she walked away, that they changed it 6 months ago when they got a new chef. She didn't ask if I liked it, she didn't ask if I needed anything. She just walked away. Finally the other server, a tall man who I see there often, came over to ask how we were doing. I told him I didn't like the salad and he took it off the bill. This was a very small saving grace after the lack of concern from the first server. We left extremely dissatisfied and still hungry. I will not go back and I suggest that management get a handle on what happens in their dining room. Also, if you bring on a new chef, and don't change the menu, than don't change the menu. Look back at the reviews you have gotten in the past on your food. Why would you omit ingredients and change the contents of an item while still listing the item on the menu the same way? A local bar lives on their regulars, but you aren't doing a great job of building regulars when your server is nasty and food is changed for no reason. I live 4 blocks away and will not go back.

Love Love Love-  greatest beer list in East Falls- Burgers are amazing! I would stick to the real beef over Kobe beef burgers as they are more flavorful and moist.  The fried pickles and Carnitas tacos are not to be missed.  Can't wait for summer and the patio!!!

I *REALLY* like the Falls Taproom and have dinner there about once a week. Between the craft beer selection (both tap and bottle), tasty gastropub menu, and the daily food specials, I always find something new and interesting to drink or eat. The Kennett Square Mushroom Sandwich and the Garlic Seitan Wings are just amazing and that's from a card carrying carnivore.

The Falls Taproom is really two places in one. Downstairs a fun neighborhood pub with bar seating and a family friendly dining room. Seasonally, the front patio is a great place to people watch and enjoy a beverage. It's one of those places you can come as you are, chill out, and catch a Phillies or Flyers game on TV. Upstairs, the clock rolls back about 90 years. With the feel of a prohibition era speakeasy, this swanky cocktail lounge is great addition and a wonderful destination for date night.

Great bottled beer list, with a hit-or-miss tap list. Sometimes the tap list has been incredible, and other times, a bit pedestrian.

We have visited this place four times since the new year, and sampled food each time. On our most recent visit, we found that they overhauled their menu--keeping some of their more popular items (tempura veggies, pierogi, black bean burger), while eliminating some of the items I wanted to try (lamb burger).

We went on a Sunday evening with another couple. The bartender was covering the entire bar and restaurant and moved about quickly and rather efficiently for having so many tables to cover. As a side note: I really like the tables and chairs in the dining room.

We started with three apps: the smoked gouda, the deep fried pickles, and the tempura veggies.

For dinner, we enjoyed: seitan wings (garlic parm style), pierogi, proscutto flatbread and black bean burger.  Most of us reported that our food was nicely prepared, except the seitan wings were a little bland and lacking the garlic parm flavor. We lingered over some sweet beers for dessert and never felt pressured to turnover the table.

The dining room can be a little bit drafty, as the door opens right to the heart of it, so I recommend bringing a scarf or sweater. Falls Taproom may want to invest in an exterior wind blocking door, or a heavy tapestry between the bar and the dining room.

PLEASE READ THE FOOD SAFETY REPORTS on FALLS TAPROOM BEFORE DECIDING TO GO TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. (<a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.phila.gov%2Fhealth%2Fenvironment%2FFoodSafetyReports.html&s=e310b8f2b2e6a6d5b7ae971d4e075f3dd227fa554724d2d12bbe757bb118f17d" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.phila.gov/hea…</a>)

I wish I had before coming here. Had I had known that there were mouse/ feces problems and dangerous food preparation methods, I would not have ordered the pierogies and the sweet potato fries (which were tasty at the time of eating them). After enjoying my food, my boyfriend and I noticed a mouse run past our table. I got up to tell the bartender (who was the only one working that night) that we had seen a mouse, and he proceeded to tell me that there were mice because was there was construction going on next door. I would have believed him, however a kitchen worker then drug a large bag of trash across the floor and out the front door. I was so disgusted that I got my boyfriend and we promptly left after asking for our check. I immediately checked the health & safety reports when I got home and to my horror I had read NUMEROUS things that made my skin crawl, clearly showing that the owner had done nothing to fix anything that was on the report in past years. Only go to Falls Taproom for the beer (hopefully the draught lines aren't contaminated too).

Fantastic new find, everything was delish.  Great service, comfy space.  Grilled Ceasar's salad, mussels, fried chicken sandwich, all top notch!  As the name implies, great and very wide tap selection.  Can't wait to go back.

Love, love, love Falls Taproom! It is by far our favorite place in East Falls!!! The beer bottle selection is huge and they usually have great options on tap. The burgers are perfect... the best I've had around Philly. Juicy, big, and wonderfully seasoned. The service has always been great when we go, very attentive. Nice atmosphere where you can sit and grab a quick beer or post yourself up for the night for a good dinner and drinks.

Sometimes this place can be hit or miss with the service. Usually very slow or forgets about you for awhile. Then they show up with a free beer to say sorry so it's cool.

The beer list is ever changing and always yummy. The atmosphere is a cozy hangout upstairs and down. Tasty food and burgers. Highly suggested to stop by if you are in the hood and enjoy a pint and some beer fondue.

This restaurant is really close to our home and when we feel like cheating on our organic, mostly vegetarian lifestyle, we go here. The atmosphere is laid back, the head waiter/bartender is really wonderful and they have a great assortment of beers from every corner of the world. The crowd is made up of our neighbors - business people unwinding after work.

We went last night, expecting to get our usual grilled and spice rubbed chicken wings. We ordered and to our surprise, battered, deep friend wings smothered in sauce came out. Huh? We called over the waiter and was told they're fazing out the healthier wings (and the only gluten-free option on their menu) because they take too long to cook. We explained that one of us is strictly gluten-free and the other doesn't eat fried foods.

They took them back and made a special order for us, which was nice, but they came out smothered in a really uneventful sauce instead of spice rubbed. Sauces are chancy for people with gluten intolerance as some restaurants thicken their sauces with flour.

I'd planned on trying their lobster mac and cheese as we'd heard how good it is. That's gone, too. The menu here is what, in my opinion, made it a classier, more interesting place than your typical sports bar. Thankfully, they've kept two of their three mussels dishes, which are the best I've had in Philly.

Best bar in East Falls!  Service can be slow (sometimes it seems like there's only one person working both the bar and the tables, other times they have plenty of staff) and sometimes it's too crowded to get in.  But if you can get a seat, the beer selection is great (interesting drafts and a huge bottle selection) and the food is amazing.  When the weather is nice I like to sit near the big windows, which they open up to the street.  I don't like to sit outside because Midvale Ave is really noisy and the sidewalk tends to be crowded.

We met up with a friend last night, Saturday, January 5th, at the Taproom, and it was an awesome experience.  Erica and the rest of the staff were super helpful, really friendly, and the food was on POINT!  I had the turkey burger and sweet potato fries and numerous ESAs (feeling them today).  You guys just keep getting better!

One more update and the last one.  Falls Taproom is back and better than ever.  Their menu is killer right now, too.  Lamb burger? Yes.  Fried seitan?  Now I don't have to venture all the way to northern liberties.  Count me in.  Not sure what happened for a few months but it's back to the great little spot it used to be.  I take everyone here for a great dinner and some good beer.  Their bottle list is huge.

    Til there was you.

Small, cozy, fun atmosphere. We go here a couple times a month, when we want to relax and have a tasty dinner. Solid draft list, with the occasional tap takeover.

Everything on the menu is a great value. For $10, you are fed! Buttermilk fried chicken sandwich and a mound of fries with delicious dipping sauce is my current favorite. I also appreciate the music selection.

Yep, this is my favorite bar in East Falls. Since I moved from Center City to East Falls, my reviews have tended to be 3 stars and less. It's the Varga of East Falls for me. A staple, we know it will always be good.

The food here is really good! Much better than I was expecting for bar food. It has more of a gastropub feel to it. So far I've had and enjoyed: burgers, sweet potato fries, and the fried gouda sticks. The beer selection is good too. The only issue with the place is the service, as others have mentioned before. It's totally hit and miss based on who you get. I just went there tonight and had an awesome server who was attentive. But when I was there last week I had an awful server who ended up sitting down after taking my order and started eating her own dinner. I never saw her again and ended up just leaving money on the table and leaving.

Overall, great food, good ambiance, but I just can't give it a higher rating. I really want to rate this place higher but the two things holding it back is the service and the price.

Been here 3 times... and 2 of those times I got the Mussels with sausage and so on.
They were amazing... the gravy/sauce was fantastic and so was the meat.
Good beer selection THOUGH the last time I was there they had some issue with their drafts or something so could not get any of them
Right off the east falls bridge, I enjoyed sitting outside and having some good food after running a 5K on Kelly drive

Great spot -- exposed brick, wooden rafters, TVs with football on!  Had a 15% ABV Bourbon barrel beer in a tulip glass.  Heaven.  Small joint ... bar not that big and not too many tables, but looked like there is an upstairs to this place, which could open things up a bit.  Would definitely go back!

This place has a freaking awesome beer selection.  Not TOO many drafts, but tons of interesting bottles.  The food is way better than any average pub food you'd get elsewhere (really creative choices for vegetarian food too. Not just the usual "garden burger" type stuff) and the crowd is mixed from 20 somethings to 30 somethings, hipsters, non-hipsters, young professionals, non-young professionals, you name it;)
I've loved the music selection each time too. Excellent choices and the volume is just right.
Parking will make you want to die, but it's totally worth the hassle.

Food was great.. Beer was great.. Selection and Ambiance were both great. I REALLY want to like this place.. it has so much potential.

$7 or more for Craft Beers? Um No. Nor is $7 the average market price per craft beer as bartenders will tell you here. No. We go to all the competition in East Falls.. in Manayunk.. in Fairmount.  Yards, Philly Brewing, Victory.. go for $5.. maybe $6 for a Golden Monkey or another good Belgium. $7 is far above the going rate, sorry guys. Again, I want to like this place.

The Falls Taproom is an excellent spot to stop for the cyclists on the way back from a long ride, craving a cold one before returning to the city proper.

Great draught selections and great appetizers, fresh and at a reasonable price.

The MUST TRY - smoked gouda triangles: deep fried cheese triangles beer-battered and panko crusted, served with a side of tangy marinara. Delicious and not as heavy as you'd think!

Another great, refreshing option is the Mediterranean plate. Daily house-made hummus served with flame-kissed roasted red peppers, a selection of olives, goat cheese and warm pita bread. It's a sure winner!

First, let me say the positive. This place has a nice beer selection and the food generally does taste quite good.

Here are the downsides. It is SLOW, and this comes from someone who is definitely not into rushed experiences. We are talking SLOOOW, whether it's crowded or not.

Also, one server in particular is not too bright. On the menu, they have a bunch of different types of wings. Half order ($7) or full order ($14). We like to get half orders of a couple different varieties. Server could not get it through his head. Insisted the kitchen "wouldn't do it" and they had to be the same (we order this ever time). Finally on the 3rd go-around with him, decided we'd eat elsewhere that night.

    Overall, has potential, needs improvement.

What a difference!  We tried this place again after they contacted us and apologized for the bad service we received.  Very cool of them to reach out.   She explained that they were very busy for a thursday night, and weren't expecting that many customers which explains a lot.  They were also having a staffing issue they were working on resolving.  Nice to have someone listen, respond and obviously work on problems.

Much better this time!  My farmhouse burger was amazing, and cooked exactly as I asked.  A lot of places mess up "medium-well" in my opinion, but this was perfect.  Service was quick and friendly, food was delicious, and everything was right.   We will be coming back again soon.

I've been to Falls Taproom twice now. The first experience was stellar, the second so-so, so I'm splitting the difference and calling it four stars.

My favorite aspects of this institution are that they've always got some Belgian sours on hand (my absolute favorite beers), the fact that you can go here even on a weekend night and not get crowded out, and the delicious curry aioli that comes with the fries.

The menu is pretty diverse and slightly creative, and possibly hit-or-miss in terms of quality. At my first visit I got the grown-up grilled cheese and it was obscenely well done: the onion jam really made it. Second visit I got a BBQ seitan sandwich that was pretty mediocre. Mostly the problem was that the sauce was way too sweet even for sweet BBQ sauce.

I'm not sure why it just so happened that both trips to this place happened on days when I was eating less meat / contemplating a return to vegetarianism, but next time I go I should check out one of the carne dishes.

I was there last Saturday and a baby roach crawled up my friends leg... right in the middle of the restaurant. One of my neighbors came while we were there and left right away. When we talked to her later, she said she saw 3 mice in the 10 mins she was waiting for a drink, so decided to leave. I used to go to this place a lot. Service was always pretty poor, but they had a good menu. Beer seems a bit overpriced, I mean $5 for a Walt Wit??

I also went for brunch once. Way overpriced french toast sticks from the freezer... and they didn't serve coffee!  I get more and more disappointed each visit.

    Never going back.

I wanna love this place.  Its got great food, and a cool vibe.  That's hard to find in east falls.  However there's a few things I just cant get past and it driving me nuts.  I had to tell the internet.

    1.  A Kenziger costs $5.
Why?  Every other bar in the city has found a a way to sell Kenziger for $3.  So whats your secrete?  Does it taste $2 better ?   Did you add some special ingredient?  Please say yes.  Or maybe its location?  Like how everything in Bermuda is expensive because they need to ship it over.  I guess your passing on the cost of driving 3 miles down Kelly drive to your patrons?

    2. My $11 burger taste great......but it should come with fries.
Lets not BS each other here.  Your Farmhouse burger is Fu%#king great.  For that matter all your food is great.  Good flavors, very creative.  However....if your going to sell me a burger that cost's over $10 have the common decency to throw a few fries on the plate.  Every other restaurant has figured this out (even Denny's).  Its not a big deal but it goes a long way.  Burgers and fries go together.  Charging me $3 for a side of fries that I may only eat half of is a waste of food, and it feels like your gauging me just like the $5 Kenzinger I'm drinking.

    3.  Slow, Snarky Hipster service.
You have one hipster bartender covering:The bar, dinning room, and outside.  Shes not real friendly...but honestly I don't blame her.  She's working her ass off....hire her some help.

    4.  The same record is playing every time I hang out.  Its some random folk record. Over and over and over(except on Thursday when you host some great music.)

    Summery:

Great food, Bad service, Pricey Beers and a very random folk record that is apparently on repeat.

Service was super  SLOW today (Sunday afternoon at 12:45PM). The bartender was working his ass off trying to maintain. He was all by himself again (in charge of the bar, the main eating area AND the outside patio).  The place was quite packed with people. He had to clear the tables, bring out the food, and pour the booze.  It seems that only one cook/chef is doing the cooking (do they have a sous chef/ food prepper?). We observed a couple just walk-out of the bar because they weren't getting serviced.  Perhaps the bar still does not draw enough people on Saturday/Sunday afternoons to warrant an extra person helping out but it sure looks like they need more staff.

It took 38 minutes for our buffalo wings to come out.  However, they were damn good. They were grilled (not fried) with BBQ sauce, nice smokiness to them. The Turkey Burger was VERY good (not frozen, seemed to be hand formed, and juicy). The fries were good as always.

Observation: Looks like the bar has chosen to use a iPad for a POS (Point Of Sale) system. They have the iPad laying flat on the counter, this will cause strain on the bartenders neck/shoulders over time and slows down input time...... probably a good idea to mount the iPad on some sort of kiosk enclosure (swivel/telescoping) that is closer to eye level.  /Observation

Anyway, even though the service was SLOW, we like the beer selection, the food and the background music. We just hope the service improves soon. We'll be back again.

Cozy and cool atmosphere. On busy nights sometimes tough to find a seat in dining area. Bar is small and usually full. Lobster Mac and cheese wasn't as incredible as I anticipated from the reviews but it was one of the biggest portions I've received and totally worth the $10 for a hearty meal.  Has the mussels and burgers on past occasions and both are tasty. Agree with other reviews in that the menu is slightly overpriced.  FYI, fries are ordered ala carte and don't come with the burgers.

Beers are great and the staff is pleasant and knowledgeable.  Good spot in this neighborhood amongst a handful of go-to dive bars.  Outside seating when it's nice is hard to snag but if you find yourself out there, it makes for a nice night.

I really like this place. I have had a few good meals here, so I can definitely say that it deserves the 4 stars.

Last night I had the Mediterranean platter which was good but that was nothing compared to the Fried Green Tomato BLT I had a month or so ago. My oh my... I am an expert on such things and I can say it is the BEST I have ever had. I would have had another last night if I hadn't just eaten shortly before heading there. The perogies are good too -- although I didn't like the rosemary ones as much as I had hoped. Luckily, I only stole a bite from a friend. :).

The beer here is on point too. It seems a good beer selection is pretty par for the course in Philadelphia these days though so we'll say the food is what sets this place apart.

Im tempted to give this place five stars on the merits of the lobster mac & cheese alone

so cheesy, so lobstery. we split this while more or less ignoring the rest of our meal, and still took home a good bit of it for later. ten bucks gets you a HUGE amount of this tasty, hearty dish. which was actually fortunate, because now that I think of it the rest of our meal was kind of disappointing...

this place is really suffering from lack of staff. there were TWO people working the front of the house, with the place nearly full inside and out. I almost hit my "its time to walk out" point before our orders were taken, and after that everything was in slow motion as the pair of servers/bartenders did double duty trying to keep up with the dinner crowd.

the burger was mediocre, and for some reason tasted like curry. at $6 on weekly special the price is nice, and about half of what a burger and fries normally runs, but it went half eaten and I would not do it again.

the caprese salad had great potential. the ingredients all seemed good, but, and Im chalking this one up to the understaffing, it came out without any balsamic, without any salt or pepper on the salad or the table, and without any silverware or napkins for the next fifteen minutes.

the beer list seemed impressive, and the one sour I tried was just what I wanted. no complaints on that front.

also the 9pm live music started tuning up at very high volumes at about five after eight.

all in all, its got potential, and some real gems on the menu - but keeps shooting itself in the foot on the way to perfect execution.

Ill be back at least once

I really wanted to like this place a lot more than I did.

Pros: really excellent craft beer selection (even 3-4 different sours!), nice, off-the-beaten-path neighborhood outside Center City, outdoor dining, decent menu selection including sandwiches, burgers, a few kinds of mussels, pierogies and french fries, and interesting salads.

Our actual dining experience just wasn't great. The place is pretty tiny, so definitely not good to bring a big group to. Luckily, it wasn't crowded when we got there, but our service still wasn't great - I think maybe she was bartending as well? Anyhow, we got seated (the chairs are really uncomfortable and don't fit with the tables they have, and only got more so as the night went on).

We ordered our beers, two drafts. Our server brought over the drinks, and I was dismayed to find that mine, a Mikkeller Limoncello, which was served in a Chimay chalice, was literally filled up barely halfway, with a giant head filling the rest of the glass. I understand glassware, and that higher ABV beers get a smaller pour, but this was really ridiculous, IMO. I wish I had told the server my concern, but I was so damn thirsty, I just started drinking. The beer was literally gone in about 4 sips.

I ordered the white mussels and frites, and my dining partner had a grilled pear salad with bacon, field greens, walnuts, etc. His salad was fine, nothing extraordinary. My mussels were definitely lacking - tough, really small, and the broth was so boiling hot that I could barely fish them out without burning my fingers. I actually just gave up on them about 3/4 of the way through and just stuck with dunking my baguette into the broth.

We were both ready to split as soon as we were done eating - not to mention this band had started playing and was so loud, it was impossible to have a conversation. Our server took forever to settle up the bill.

I was so disappointed in this place. I will most likely give it another chance though, order different food, and enjoy some more of their beer selection to see if things improve.
