Famous Jack's is a great spot to grab a burger if you're on the north side or happen to work in the area.  They serve all their burgers on english muffins which sounds weird but very delicious.  They have a pretty limited menu, single or double cheeseburger, you can add bacon, and the toppings are DIY.  They also have a couple other sandwiches to offer.

The ambiance of this place is kind of interesting.  Its not quite a bar, although they do server over 100 different kinds of bottled beer, and its not quite a restaurant. Kind of somewhere in between.  There is limited seating and there are a bunch of TV's all playing sports most of the time.

They have a different special every day, thursdays they have a cheeseburger special, i forget the price but its a very decent value and makes it worth a visit for lunch.

My wife and I were craving burgers, and didn't want to go too far away, so we stopped by this joint.  I was shocked to find out that Famous Jack's is somewhat of a bar.  I say bar in the lightest sense of the term (they serve beer, and happened to have sports on every one of their 5-7 tvs).

At any rate, the wife and I got our food to go, so I can't comment on the ambience all that much, suffice it to say that seating is some what limited, so be forewarned.  The guy working the counter kinda reminded me of Judah Frielander (30 Rock), and was really nice.

The wife ordered a cheeseburger (1/4lb), I got a double bacon cheeseburger (1/2 pound burger), and we decided to split some bacon and cheese fries.  I dug the fries.  They use potato wedges instead of fries, and cover 'em with bacon and cheese.  They weren't the best I had, but how can you go wrong with bacon and cheese fries?

The burgers were alright.  I got mine with lettuce, tomato, onion, and jalapenos.  I wasn't really feeling the jalapenos at first, but I'm glad I did, they really helped the burger.  The burger itself was served on what appeared to be an english muffin.  It was a hot mess, literally.  The first couple of bites were good, but were enhanced when I added mor jalapenos and ketchup (burger seemed a little dry with all the other toppings).

Overall- not too bad.  Total cost was under $20 for the wife and I.  I still prefer 5 guys and boogie burger to this place, but this place is much closer than both.  If I'm lazy, I'd probably go back, but otherwise, I'd make the drive to the other two joints.

HOLY COW.  This place is phenomenal!

I was really craving a cheeseburger on Friday night.  Not fast food type burger, but really GOOD burger.  I saw this place online and figured we'd give it a try.

I had a regular cheeseburger and my man had one with bacon.  Served on a toasted english muffin which looked strange at first but is DELICIOUS!  The meat was tasty, cooked well, and you do your own condiments.

The fries with bacon and cheese are absolutely evil (meaning fantastic).

If you like beer, they have something like 120 different kinds.

The price is pretty reasonable too, $20 for two burgers, loaded fries and two drinks.

The place is pretty small inside though so I wouldn't recommend taking a large group.
