Came here for the first time last night and have to say it was pretty cool. I'm from Miami and it made me feel like home. The decor and lighting is perfect, along with the DJ booth up high makes for a cool atmosphere over all. Food selection is good as well and there Cucumber Martini were on point!!!
I would recommend this place hands down!!! Excited to go out for their Girls night out tonight THURSDAY
Went here with my husband because I had a Living Social coupon for brunch for two. It was pretty good food, but just not what I'm looking for in a brunch spot. I definitely felt like I was eating brunch in a nightclub. There was even a DJ playing "thump-thump-thump" music, people buying shots and yelling across the bar to each other, etc. My husband and I had to yell to hear each other. This was at 12 noon on a Sunday. The place also had that nightclub smell, and I felt like there had only been a quick wipe-down from the night before, it just felt a little dirty/dingy to me. Our food was pretty good though, I got the shrimp and grits and my husband had the crab eggs benedict. I also enjoyed my bloody mary very much. It was just not what I look for in a Sunday brunch atmosphere, and since I'm not a club person I just can't see myself returning.
Review Source:I've always enjoyed this place until this last visit. I was there for a networking event and it was happy hour. I ordered a Crown and coke, and the bartender said $5. I gave her my card to start a tab. Long story short, 2 drinks later the bill came out to $27!! I didn't have time to argue with them since my party was already waiting outside ready to move to the next venue. Upon signing my credit card slip, two women said the exact same thing about their bill. Horrible practice.
Review Source:My husband took me here for brunch. The food was very good. I had the crab eggs Benedict which was lovely, Husband had the shrimp and grits he enjoyed it. The mango mimosa was awesome! The decor is lovely and bright. Our server was attentive and accommodating. Â I can't wait to go back.
Review Source:The Fifth rocks!! My brother took me to the Fifth for my birthday dinner & it was soooo yummy!! The wine was Magnificent! Â My burger was cooked to perfection, the
grilled avocado was so different and
delightful! I am a hard one to please, I was in the service industry for along time, but I was so satisfied. Seating outside which was nice & different from a lot of restaurants down town. This restaurant is very unique & food was outstanding. Â Also, brunch so so good! Different home cooked yummy meals! I can't say enough about it!!
Thank you for a wonderful experience !'
I always have a great experience here! The food and service are awesome. I love the Grilled Haas Avocado. They are very cool about customizing and have great Happy Hour specials. I am excited to try their brunch soon, especially for the Belvedere Bloody Mary Bar!
Ladies, check out their Girls Night Out on Thursday nights! Three course meal for two AND a bottle of wine for $20!
I am torn with how to write this review. We had a groupon, so the deal was great. The food was really tasty, but something was off about the atmosphere. It felt like a night club and we were sitting there having Sunday brunch. Just a little bit of an odd juxtaposition - but not too shabby. I might find myself back there, but at the same time it wasn't SO good that I'm rushing.
Review Source:Stopped by on a Saturday night for a friend's birthday party. I really liked this place. Bartenders were very chill. The atmosphere was very chill. Decor and music was great. Overall, just a great place to be. I didn't get a chance to try any of the food, but our bartenders were good at always keeping us topped up and making some custom mixes. The place got really packed at one point, but the bartenders were still there to help us out.
The crowd is also pretty good. I think it's cool that it's a smaller place... it filters out a lot of ratchetness in downtown Orlando.
We were there for Sunday brunch. The food was good, as was the service, and the prices were reasonable for a brunch. (The tiny, undecorated mimosa was overpriced.) The atmosphere was not at all to our liking, being cold in appeal, sterile, and very noisy. In most cases, guests are sitting very near to fellow diners in long, straight rows of tables. It's not really a place where you would take visiting guests.
Review Source:My dear friend took me here for Sunday brunch for my birthday.
The decor is tasteful and says no expense was spared. The lit glass ceiling is so beautiful. Our waitress was extremely polite and informative, the food hot and tasty.
The menu was eclectic and fresh from chicken 'n waffles, shrimp 'n grits to crab eggs benedict.
Can't wait to get back there and try more dishes!
From the moment you enter, you will eventually be greeted by either an older gentlemen who bathes in cologne or a slightly aloof young woman. Frankly, the service is a bit awkward.
Before you are even seated, you will notice a trendy ambience accented by cool lighting, a white ledger stone accent wall and framed televisions. Clearly, this restaurant serves as a bar a night. But, I'm not one for downtown's nightlife.
I have tried a number of their dishes since their opening. I haven't really been disappointed with anything I've ordered. My go-to choice is their veggie berger. It is, hands-down, Orlando's best veggie burger. I recommend adding the blueberry cheddar. Everything else on the menu is good. Though, you should keep your expectations low when ordering the soup.
If you are celebrating or looking for a quick buzz before your meal, I highly recommend the Ice Ice Baby. It's a perfect blend of peach and champagne and other fruity goodness. Truly refreshing and delightful.
Brunch was absolutely lovely. Â I had the steak burger which I ordered medium rare and came out more on the rare side. Â The burger was delicious! Â It came with small potato wedges which were cooked perfectly. Â My husband ordered the shrimp and grits. Â There were four large shrimp on the grits which were topped with corn. Â That dish was also very good. Â I also enjoyed a mimosa with the meal. Â The atmosphere is very trendy and cool. Â I made a reservation to eat at 1pm and the place was well staffed and everyone was very friendly and helpful.
Review Source:Great place! Staff was super friendly and drinks really good. Appetizers and flat breads that I got to try during a yelp elite event were pretty good. Nothing spectacular, but great to go with some drinks. Loved the interior and the vibe. Thanks to the guys at the Fifth for a great event !!!!!
Review Source:Trendy, cool, great decor and colors! Awesome drinks but super expensive! I had the cucumber martini and it was really refreshing and pretty strong.
I ordered the grilled cheese with chicken which was pretty good and very filling. The lobster bisque portion they served me was depressingly tiny and either completely pureed or they strained all the lobster chunks right out of the bisque. Super disappointing.
Someone had reserved the inside of the restaurant so we weren't able to eat inside (which was lame because it seemed like turnout for the private party was dismal). We ended up eating on the tables on the sidewalk which is always a gamble since you're bound to encounter quite a few characters stumbling around downtown on a Thursday.
Not a terrible place to nurse a strong drink one evening but the kitchen could use some improvement.
I was fortunate enough to check out this new hotspot for an Elite Yelp event and I must say I was impressed.
The ceiling lighting itself was an attention grabber for my visual self, I loved the sleekness and almost Hollywood lounge scene feel.
The cocktails were delicious. In my opinion, anything that involves St. Germain will be a guaranteed success.
I would definitely recommend this lounge when you want to impress out of town friends and show them that Orlando is much more than a "mouse trap"
think of GreyGoose 180 Lounge on top of Amway, but smaller, not as loud, and not as crowded. The place has good atmosphere, good drinks (although on the pricey side), and in good classy company. not the typical dirty dive bar, which is a thumbs up to me if you want a dressed-up night out.
Review Source:Went here on a Saturday nite, with a party of seven. The service was prompt and friendly.  W started with the hummus and it was pretty tasty. Some if the main dishes ordered at the table were the streak burger-the eater of it said it was awesome, and it looked huge, the crab macaroni and cheese-mixed reviews of deliciousness vs it tasting very fishy, and I got the blt which was pretty good with crispy bacon and a really good pickle aioli. Took a taste of the chicken sliders as well and  they were flavorful and a decent size portion. We finished with a tiramisu and an apple dumpling with ice cream. Both were pretty legit, I favored the apple. Would totally go here again. The interior is very slick so the down home food is a little surprising, but not unpleasant.
Review Source:Had dinner at The Fifth after walking around in downtown Orlando, unfamiliar withethchoices and looking for a place to eat. Â Curb appeal and a quick check for some positive reviews on Yelp got us in the door..
Positively surprised when we went inside. Â Very interesting decor. Â Kind of eclectic, contemporary-chic might be a way to put it. Â Even the ceiling was interesting. Â Nicely done on the decor. Â Hostess and server also get an "A" foir smiles, friendliness and attentiveness. Â
Appetizers were interesting and very good. Â Hummus, grilled avocado with salsa in the center and some warm, soft pita chips. Â We pretty much gobbled up everything that was brought to the table for the main courses. Â I had a proscutto-wrapped pork tenderloiin. Â Again nicely done. Â The portion sizes that they served were right-sized. Â
Not sure if this turns into a "scene" place later in the night but it may be cool for that too. Â You'll need to test that if you want.
I must say, this place was amazing. The quality of the food here is top notch and the chef really put in time to create a credible menu.
My friend recommended this place and she went on and on about their mac and cheese. I tried it and it was pretty good. The cheese smelt horrible tho. But good, nonetheless.
I ordered the ceasar salad which was pretty good. Lots of green lettuce, light dressing and cheese. For the main course, I ordered the chicken sliders and it was a party in my mouth. The flavors worked so well with each other. I usually load my chicken sandwiches with condiments but here, I didn't need to put anything on it. These chicken sandwiches are better than Chik-Fil-A, and until today I thought Chik-Fil-A had the best chicken sandwiches.
The potato chips cooked in truffle oil was a bit bland to me and came out at room temperature. I would have preferred them to be warm with a bit more flavor.
The ambiance is really nice inside, but its pretty small. I would recommend making reservations because of the limited seating.
I would give this place 5 stars but the service could have been better. Our waitress was great but there was another waitress who had some friends show up and she wanted to seat them. So mid dinner, she asked us to move to another table. I felt like that was very unprofessional. She ended up just moving our table to allow them to accommodate her friends. I have been to a lot of restaurants, for a place so sophisticated, I would have expected more professionalism.
We had been waiting patiently for"The Fifth" Â to open & now that it has we are delighted that the food is so great. Our staff frequently orders lunch from there & we all have tried just about every item. The atmosphere & decor is top notch. The staff is friendly & the prices are quite reasonable. We highly recommend "The Fifth."
The Ego Lab Staff
We decided to venture in for dinner last night after reading the fantastic reviews online. Â We love our fellow Orlando yelpers, but I just don't see what they see in this restaurant.
We were pleased with the ambiance. Â It's super clean, fresh and trendy, and were greeted immediately by the hostess and taken to our table. Â That is when everything started going downhill. Â We were seated at a high top table in the most uncomfortable bar stools ever. Â Our table was so uneven we couldn't put any pressure on it for fear that our water glasses would fall off. Â
We ordered the truffle oil potato chips, the arugula salad, the meatloaf and the chicken and waffles. Â The potato chips came out tasting like plain potatoes fried with salt. Â We couldn't find a hint of truffle oil anywhere. Â We actually had to ask for an aioli or something to dip it in. Â The meatloaf was pretty good, but they burnt it on the bottom and tried to hide it by smothering it with sauce. Â I could hardly even cut through it with my knife. Â The chicken and waffles were pretty good, but sweet, like previous reviews said. Â
The service was the part that was so off putting. Â We had a hard time getting water refills, and she literally took my husbands plate away from him when he was mid bite. She didn't even ask if he was finished. Â She left my plate there until the end of eternity though, and only cleared it once she saw there was no room for the check.
With all of the delicious choices in Orlando, I don't think we'll return to this place any time soon.
What a wonderful option for lunch for Downtown employees. I dined here recently for lunch with a friend. Very sleek and modern with a feeling of upscale without the high prices. Service was very attentive and food was served in lightning speed. I went with the grilled chicken sandwich with sautéed brussel sprouts and crumbled bacon paired with white truffle potato chips. Very tasty and filling. My friend had the crab and Mac and cheese and she loved it.  Prices are affordable. I will definitely be back!
Review Source:Funky, swanky and with interesting and reasonably priced menu options. Welcome to downtown, The Fifth. Please stick around.
Six of us celebrated a birthday dinner here - and yes, this is a classy joint, nobody brings out a cupcake and sings to you. Their beer and wine lists have enough interesting selections to be functional, but their cocktail list is more interesting and the Ice Ice Baby champagne cocktail is yum. For my appetizer I completely killed a serving of their house-made potato chips - mmm, sea salt and truffle goodness. Those things are ADDICTIVE and when our food arrived, everyone at the table who got a sandwich had a bowl of them on the side, and was fortunately willing to share. The sandwiches are huge and reasonably priced at $11-13, especially with those amazing taters on the side.
I ordered the chicken and waffles, and given my c+w fetishism I have to write an essay on it. I've seen a couple pictures of The Fifth's chicken and waffles where it looked relatively dainty and appetizer-ish: a triangle of waffle, a chicken tender and some bacon. My portion looked significantly bigger than that - two pieces of waffle, two pieces of boneless chicken, and a long strip of candied bacon. If you like your chicken and waffles on the sweet side, I highly recommend it. The waffles are seasoned with cinnamon which is regrettably my Kryptonite though I can't fault them for this, the bacon is suh-weet (please offer this bacon in a drink, Ravenous Pig-style!), and there's just enough syrup on it. If you're a traditionalist who likes bone-in chicken and gallons of country gravy this might not be the chicken and waffles for you. I am that traditionalist, and I'll be going for the shrimp n' grits on my next visit.
The only thing I might like to see them fix is the slightly sluggish service. The two members of our party who arrived early got drinks, then when the rest of us arrived, the server stopped by to verify we were all there but didn't ask the rest of us for drink orders - which we eventually got in, of course, but one of us never got her Pellegrino at all - it took them so long to collect our credit cards I was starting to feel like I was at a restaurant in Europe, etc. But they're new, so I'll cut them a break on logistics.
As others have said, be careful not to walk into the mirror that makes the bar area appear twice as long as it actually is. While I didn't witness this I noted there were indeed a couple of forehead marks on it from people butting into it, which was hysterical to me but maybe not so much to whomever walked into it.
To be honest, I probably would not have heard of or noticed The Fifth were it not for the very lovely girl who represented it at Yelp's Summertime Street Soirée a few weekends ago. As the event got underway, it began pouring rain outside, and some friends (including fellow Yelpers, with Chris R. among them) and I took cover underneath The Fifth's tent. The girl who was working at the tent asked me if I'd like a drink (she was serving vodka beverages with different choices of juice); naturally, I said "yes," and the rest, as they say, is history. Maybe a half-dozen vodka drinks later, The Fifth definitely was in my mind, thanks to its wonderful employee and her well-made drinks.
I went to The Fifth for lunch last week to have some lunch and to see if I could find that girl I met at the Yelp event. (I mostly was going for the lunch, though! But yeah, she is very striking and was very easy to talk to. Me like.) During the Yelp event, I looked at The Fifth's menu, which the girl provided to event attendees so as to generate some more business/interest. Much of what was on the menu caught my eye - there are a lot of fancy and seemingly delicious items on it.
The only bad part about my in-person lunch visit to The Fifth was that I did not see that girl working. (She said that she bartends; perhaps she does at night?) Not a big deal, though I may go back at some point in the future to see how she is. I sat at the bar for lunch and ordered the country-style cheese sandwich ($8), which consists of butcher's-cut peppered bacon, Vermont white Cheddar cheese, Colby pepper Jack cheese and guacamole on a toasted brioche bun. It was excellent and was accompanied by crunchy chips which resembled and tasted similar to bagel chips (which I enjoy very much). These were accompanied by what I at first thought was regular ketchup, but it actually seemed to be a spicy ketchup or spicy ketchup-based sauce (I don't know if it was intended to be used just for the sandwich, but I used it for the chips as well). It was tasty.
I'm going to have to go back for lunch sometime since it was very difficult to choose just one item for lunch. I may have to bring someone with me next time so that a few different things can be ordered and each of us can try a little of at least 2 different things. The Fifth BLT, which has the same bacon as is on the cheese sandwich and also has heirloom tomatoes and pico aioli on challah bread (!!!), sounds amazing. Take a look at the menu - there's no shortage of savory choices on it. I would be comfortable ordering almost anything here.
The service here was great. I showed up maybe toward the end of the "lunch rush," so for most of my visit I was the only person seated at the bar, though there were several tables of diners away from the bar. The bar's server was very friendly. I had a few drinks when I was here, so my total came to about $20. I am assuming that this isn't the norm, but the Coke in my drinks wasn't very fresh. It seemed flat, but it wasn't the worst soda I've ever had. Regardless, I still finished my drinks and didn't say anything. Maybe I should've, but I'm not overly picky and was more focused on the food and what the place's atmosphere is. Speaking of that, it's very interesting inside of The Fifth. It's hard for me to describe. It has the classiness and appearance of a ritzy bar/club but doesn't seem to be overly pretentious. During my next trip here, I will pay more attention to the décor. As I mentioned, it is pretty fancy. It also appeared to me that the majority, if not all, of the other diners were dressed properly (as was I, for the most part; I wore a dress shirt, jeans and casual dress shoes), so The Fifth seems to attract a certain style of customer. I'm not sure that you'd see the same people or type in here on a Friday/Saturday night as you would at, say, Bar-B-Q Bar. There's a different and more refined/enhanced atmosphere here. You'll see for yourself if you check this place out, whether that's at lunch or for drinks at night. I don't usually go to places similar to The Fifth, but maybe that should change a little bit. I prefer "dive" bars, usually, but this place definitely has an enjoyable vibe to it, one that I definitely could get used to if I stopped by for lunch or a drink every so often.
At this time, I highly recommend The Fifth. I'm certain that most Yelpers would enjoy it, even if only for the food. Perhaps the design and atmosphere might be a bit much for some people (and maybe it would've been for me if I didn't occasionally broaden my horizons), but I certainly left my initial visit here feeling very impressed and pleased.
I have been dying to check this place out and finally got to on Monday. So, first of all, sexy. Oh my gosh, it's so sexy! Gorgeous decor and seating - it's definitely a great place to grab a cocktail and some eats. I went with The Greenhouse cocktail. It had cucumber flavoring in it and that's all I remember but it was absolutely amazing and we also got to try the grilled cheese. It had bacon and avocado in it and it was really good except for it was a little spicy. Gosh, I'm such a wimp.
Service was friendly and fast and I can't wait to back to The Fifth for another night of delicious cocktails and eats!
Bringin' the SWANKY style to Downtown Orlando, hats off to The Fifth!
Food, spirits and ambiance, The Fifth delivers. What may appear to be a club stop, this is really an upscale lounge to grab a fab cocktail, some delicious food and relax with friends.
They have an array of cocktails but the one that caught my eye and taste buds was the Ice ice baby: St Germaine, champagne, splash of peach... Yes please. Delicious and refreshing but a bit on the rich side, be careful not to down too many before you eat!
I have had the shrimp and grits and grilled cheese here along with the truffle potato chips... YUM! All were very delicious but I have to say, I can't wait to try the meatloaf. The grits were a little too "gritty" for me, I am more of a puree grit fan but the shrimp were delicious. I also really liked the grilled cheese but I agree with Elizabeth F... a little too spicy for me but there was something about it that made me craving more.
The ambiance is really what shines here. The attention to detail from the colors to the lighting is just lovely. It's a small quaint place that I suggest you stop in and try. There is outside seating as well, great for an afternoon lunch stop.
Seriously my new favorite place to eat and hang out. Love the entire concept and everything about it. The food is awesome, thanks to their chef from Le Cordon Bleu. I'm trying to find reasons to go back here so I can try everything on the menu. So far i've tried the grilled chicken sandwhich, shrimp and grits, truffle chips, and chicken and waffles.
