Have eaten here many times. Â We love the Trifecta with eggs, choice of meat and pancake or waffle. Â However, this time I ordered the Healthy crepe with fruit, granola and muffin. Â The coffee is great. Â Server was friendly and food came on time. Â
The crepe was good and full of very fresh fruit. Â However the yoghurt topping was very pink and very cold, supermarket yoghurt. Â The granola was not sure if it was topping or cereal size. Â Came in a little souffle cup and was about 1/4 cup or less. Â No milk in sight. Â Too little yoghurt on the crepe to use to moisten the granola. Â Good flavor but dry.
The blueberry muffin was very cold and totally sticky. Â Either right out of refrigerator or wrapped while hot and put in cooler. Â I have never been served a cold muffin (no butter in sight). Â Suggested they visit Perkins to see how to serve a muffin.
I took it home and microwaved it. Â It fell apart and it tasted like a packaged mix without any fresh blueberries in evidence.
I contacted the company and they said the cold muffin was SOP (standard operating procedure?) but must have been covered while too warm. Â They suggested I should have asked for the muffing to be warmed up. DUH. Â The yoghurt was Stoneyfield. Â No comment from them on any of my other issues.
My husband had one of the crepe with egg choices that had a sauce on top that he said was too lemony tasting.
I would go back again because I love the Trifecta but other items not as successful.
--had Sunday breakfast here. Â This place is not fancy-shmancy w/ high prices. Â It was very good & affordable. Â The place has bright & cheerful colors to greet you. Â It's been in the old Sunrise Cafe spot since April, but we just discovered it. Â They offer some healthier alternatives & tout no heat lamps, no deep fryers, & no microwaves. Â It does have a strange name though. Â
We were up early and though the place was full, there was no wait. Â We were greeted & seated promptly. Â Our waitress was friendly & came w/a full pot of coffee. Â We browsed the menu (nice selections) and ordered. Â My husband's pecan multigrain pancake was light & fluffy even though whole grain & my waffle too. Â My only slightly negative comment is that Belgium waffles are soft in the middle & crisp on the outside. Â This 'said Belgium' but it was all soft like a regular. Â
All in all, we enjoyed, were in & out, ready to enjoy our 72degree November day!
My 4 stars--good service & a combo special called the tri-fecta. Â It's a choice of many kinds of pancakes or waffle, egg & meat. Â (Nearby breakfast restaurants overcharge for a waffle, then you have to add the egg & meat ala carte. --too expensive.) Â
We'll be back. Â Their 1/2 soup, salad or sandwich for 6 something makes it look like a good place to pop in.
