My co-workers and I come here for happy hour at least once a week. They have excellent martini and wine deals for $6 between 5 and 7 pm- and even their Prime Burger is on the happy hour menu! It is hands down the best burger I have ever had.
Doug is their best bartender- as is Emily. The service at the bar is impeccable when the two of them are working. They both make amazing dirty martinis- and Doug always makes sure you have everything you need.
I will keep coming here!
3.5 is what I'd give Flemings.
The happy hour menu is really great in terms of value - hubby and I got a burger and flatbread each for $6. Â Blue Moons are 2 for $6. Â Great deals.
The burger was good. Â Great flavor and the fries are delish. Â The mushroom flatbread was good, not great. Â Really salty for some reason. Â If they could cut half of the salt, it would be absolutely amazing. Â And I'd never pay full price for it - it wasn't that big. Â
We finished with the lava cake. Â It was more lava than cake. Â The homemade whipped cream was incredible, but the ice cream was just so so. Â I wouldn't ever pay 11.50 for it again - if a dessert is that expensive, I expect it to wow me. Â It was good...but not spectacular. Â I think that the frozen lava cakes at Trader Joe's are just as good (minus the awesome whipped cream).
We sat at the end of the bar, and that seemed to be the server hangout spot. Â Wasn't a huge fan of that. Â Several servers were talking about bulemic girls, hot girls, girls, girls, girls, and I wasn't hoping to spend my evening a part of their conversation. Â
I'd go back again for the happy hour menu, but I don't know that I'd go for the full dinner menu. Â Service in the bar was great, the bartenders were very attentive.
The service was very good and professional. The food was great.
A good friend gave us a gift card and we used it to celebrate our fourth anniversary.
Appetizer: We shared a crab cake appetizer that was nicely seasoned and a good start to what would prove a great meal.
The Main Course: Yuki picked the winner (as usual) with the night's special, Filet Mignon with Lump Crab and a Bearnaise sauce (cooked medium - warm pink center)... fabulous.
While my steak, Porcini Rubbed Filet Mignon with a Gorgonzola Cream sauce and Asparagus (cooked medium rare - warm red center), took second place to hers, it was still a great cut and wonderful flavor. As to steak, this is now one of the two best I have had while dining out. (The other is Boulevard Steak House in Edmond OK). We split a side of sauteed Spinach... too me a bit on the mediocre side and the most disappointing part of the meal.
Desserts: The Carrot Cake was an good version but not a standout for me or Yuki. However, the Walnut Turtle Pie was unique and decadent; it will certainly be one of our dessert choices anytime we go.
For perimeters newest hot spot I say Flemings!! They have everything you would ever want... happy hour.. Milfs.. Asian bartenders.. Old people hanging out.... Chocolate milk in a martini glass.. Late 90's music that use to be cool.. Single guys looking for anything available... Yes.. U have to come around here... It's only gonna be like this.. Forever!!!
Review Source:I ate here for Valentine's dinner and it was a very nice experience. Â They have a huge selection of wines by the glass and you can use your table's menu pad/tablet to search the entire menu + wine pairings. Â I had a glass of the Chateau de Parenchere Bordeaux and it perfect with my NY Strip steak. I shared the steak, Fleming's potatoes & sauteed mushrooms with my husband and we each had a salad. We also shared the chocolate lava cake with coffee. Â It came with ice cream & fresh whipped cream. Â I put some of the whipped cream in my coffee since they brought us milk instead of cream. Â Service was very good and attentive. Â Also, if you make your reservation on Open Table and indicate it is your first visit, the manager might bring you at $25 gift card to use on your next visit - that's what happened to us.
Review Source:I have been to Fleming's all across the country and it never fails to deliver on great food served in a nice environment by friendly, helpful staff.
And this location in Atlanta's suburbs is no exception.
I was in town for business and someone else did the choosing for the dinner. Â But the great news is once I heard "Flemings", I knew exactly what to expect and started to anticipate what I was going to order off of their menu.
We were seated in one on the comfy booths in the back (funny- this must be "my seat" as it is the same booth I am often seated in when I go to any Flemings as the decor packages are similar from location to location) Â The warm bread and two kinds of butter were put down before us and our server was over in a flash.
Nate, our server, was great! Â He was quick with suggestions and offered just the right mix of personality and professionalism! Â And after I told him I have been to Fleming's all around, he assured me that "his Flemings" was going to be a great experience too . . . . . .and you know what? Â He was right!
Our martini's arrived at the perfect moment- shaken table side and served with panache! Â And while it was so good I wanted to hug the bartender (it had been one of those days) I didn't so if you are the bartender and reading this- consider yourself hugged!
We started with some of their fried calamari- always a good, decadent choice. Â But then the real stars of the evening came- the steaks! Â My NY strip was cooked perfectly as was my friend's. Â And their signature Fleming potatoes (sort of like Au gratin with jalapenos) were out of this world. Â I usually order a baked potato when I come here but no longer . . .these are my new fav!
I also liked that the manager, Amy, came over to the table to welcome us and to make sure that everything was just perfect (it was!) Â This must be a required action at Flemings as it happens no matter what location I go to. Â But what makes it nice is that it doesn't seem required- rather like the manager really cares and wants things to be just right.
And here's a tip- when the server comes over mid dinner and suggests the hot lava cake for dessert . . .take him up on his offer. Â We didn't do it here but I have had it at other locations and it is worth EVERY calorie!
Fleming's is always a good choice, be it in your home town or on the road. Â I always have a great experience. . . . . and coming from Chicago where steak is king- that is really high praise!
I have to say that I was not nearly as impressed with the service as some of the other reviewers have been. My waiter was a "good guy" for sure, but not nearly as attentive as one would expect for a place where you're paying $80-$100 a head minimum.
But that is just the service. The food was quite outstanding. My son and I both had the bone-in ribeye, and, in my opinion, that is the pinnacle when it comes to steaks. Don't ever get a filet if you want the best steak in the best restaurants. Always get the bone-in ribeye, because of fat marbling and because the bone will ensure moisture. And we were not disappointed. The steaks were cooked to a perfect medium. On the side we got the "Half and Half", which is shoestring fries and onion rings, and they were to die for. They came with an aioli mayo sauce that was a little like Russian dressing. Sinfully good, We also had the grilled asparagus. Perfection.
Overall, I would say it is a step below Bone's and Chops, but it is not a BIG step down. It is far superior to Morton's and Ruth's Chris, both of which have gone downhill in recent years in my opinion. It is also far better than McKendrick's. If you live in the northern part of the city and want to avoid Buckhead BS, then I would highly recommend Fleming's.
This place is fabulous! Although I'm not a steak eater, their sides are absolutely delicious and their wine & cocktail menus can't be beat. The desserts are pretty darn good, too.
Service here is always on top of things. Also, don't fair to grab a few chocolate covered mints on your way out the door - SO tasty!
Probably the most underrated steak house in the city. Tremendous food, top notch service, very inviting, and extremely classy without the pretentiousness that you typically find at many high end restaurants around town.
I'll start off by saying the folks at the bar are very knowledgeable with the immense wine selections offered; and have always done a great job at recommending wines with food pairings. I typically will have a glass at the bar and follow it up with a bottle at the dinner table.
I have visited approximately a half dozen times and have always had a steak meal. The steaks have always been exceptional, and the sides follow suit. All in all, an exceptional choice for dinner.
I love this place. Â It is the perfect place for an important business or a special occasion dinner. Â That said, my favorite is the Fleming's 5 for $6 until 7:00 happy hour in the bar area. Â The bar is a big area with several nice sized booths as well as a long bar that can seat at least 20 people. Â The menu includes 5 nice red and white wines (love the Colby Napa Red Blend), 5 specialty cocktails and 5 yummy apps plus their Flemings prime burger, all for $6. Â The food is delicious and the service is outstanding. Â Doug is a friendly, accommodating bartender who is as professional as they come. Â I love this place and just wish I could fit happy hour into my schedule a bit more often.
Review Source:I'm a huge fan of this place. Â I've been coming here since they opened and the service, food and ambiance are outstanding! Â And this is the first time I noticed, but the music selection was really great, as well.
The steaks are top-notch; the entrees are a little bit expensive, but there are generally specials for 6-ounce filets including a side for around $30pp. Â The appetizers, salads and sides are typically as tasty as the steaks. Â And the walnut brownie pie is ridiculous! Â They also allow me to bring in wine without prohibitive corkage fees.
I'd eat here every week, if the budget allowed for it...
This place is incredible. From the moment you walk through the door until the  moment you leave, I received nothing but outstanding service.
The food wasn't something to brag about to everyone, but then again I ordered off the bar a la carte menu. We were sat outside on the patio which I highly recommend. The decor isn't overly stuffy and it's somewhat relaxing being outside. Even though it's on the patio, they still have covers draped over the sides so you at least have a screened in patio. We tried the 5 for $6 until 7pm deal, where you order various amounts of items for only $6. I tried two of their speciality cocktails that came in a mini shaker (so cute!) as well as a couple of their apps, entrees, and side items.
We tried:
-Clear cosmo: probably not my fave martini here, b/c the sweetness resembled "cough syrup"
-Stoli bombshell: better than the clear cosmo, but still not my have
-Calamari: really oily but tasted yummy with the bell peppers
-Barbecued shrimp: reminded me of a chef's twist on shrimp scampi
-Tenderloin carpaccio: meat wasn't flavorful, will probably pass on this dish next time
-Prime burger: boyfriend loved his burger, but he loves anything "burger" so maybe this shouldn't apply
-Mac and cheese: overly buttery and not my have
-Filet mignon flatbread: meat was really overcooked, but they don't take a temperature on the meat b/c it's cooked on this hoyer belt that goes under a heating thing
-HOUSEMADE BURRATA: my fave!!! if you enjoy things like bruschetta or anything tomato-y def give this a try
A couple of glasses of wine and brews later, and our bill totaled about $98...$106 with tax. Overall, the experience was a pleasant one and I'll definitely be back!
My husband and I dined here on Friday 10/12 for our wedding anniversary dinner. We received a $50 coupon/credit in the mail, so we decided to try it. I made reservations and we arrived 10 minutes early and waited about 15 minutes before we were seated, which was mildly annoying. Perhaps I don't understand the point of a reservation?
Once we were seated, it was about 5 minutes before the server approached our table and about the same time, another server came over with a bread basket, which we politely declined as we are on a limited diet at the moment. The server greeted us and asked for our drink orders - we cannot drink alcohol at the moment because of the sugar, so we both ordered water and I asked for a gluten-free menu explaining that we were on a limited diet and that we could not have any wine, nor bread and he joked that perhaps he shouldn't ask us about dessert and I replied that "No sir, we won't be ordering dessert". It was a jovial exchange and then he made a smart remark to the point of "Well, why are you here, then?" and I replied "It's our anniversary and we didn't want to cook at home." I suppose you could say that it didn't seem to start our dinner off on the right foot. I am not one to get upset about things like that, I can laugh at myself and I knew exactly what temptations would be presented to me at dinner, but we chose to go out to celebrate anyway.
Our biggest complaint was how slow the service was. At first, I thought maybe the whole exchange about our diet and us not ordering extras like wine and dessert would impact the amount of our bill and we were getting treated with less attention since our tip would be lower because our total bill would be less than a typical table. I honestly don't know why our service was so slow and unresponsive. I will try to stick to the facts to give a more unbiased review:
At the end of the dinner, two tables nearby (with the same server as ours) had turned over by the time we were still sitting, waiting for our check. Our main server would check in with us periodically, but not frequently enough and the food from the kitchen was so slow, it was greatly frustrating. It was about 40 minutes from putting in our dinner/salad order to when our dinner arrived. Over 20 minutes from ordering our appetizer to when we received it. After our plates were cleared from dinner, it took 10 minutes for the server to return to our table to offer us coffee/after dinner drinks and for us to be able to request our check. I noticed toward the end of dinner that he had a variety of tables scattered around the restaurant, so he may have been covering two areas? I am not sure as to why his service was so slow.
I will say that the staff in charge of refilling water and bringing bread were on top of their game as our water glasses were continually refilled and bread was offered to us twice. Â
We ordered an appetizer, my husband got a salad and we each ordered steaks and a vegetable as a side. We drank only tap water, no wine, soda or anything else. Our total bill before our coupon was just over $130. Â
When our food arrived, my husband's steak was well done, he ordered it medium rare. Our server was nowhere to be found, so it took some time to find a manager in the dining room and we flagged her down to ask what could be done. She immediately took his steak back to the kitchen and reappeared almost instantly with another steak, cooked to his liking. It was almost surreal. It was also larger than the initial steak that was brought to our table. We can only figure that the incorrect steak was brought out initially since that steak was much smaller than what my husband ordered and not cooked properly. The way the manager handled the situation and the water/bread servers were the only positives to the dining experience.
In summary, I think the price charged for the food is way out of line with the quality and the service we experienced. We've eaten at a number of steakhouses around town and we've had better steaks for less , even in large cities like San Francisco - with higher cost of living than Atlanta. (Try Bobo's in SF for a fantastic bone-in filet and a great, fun atmosphere!) In the end, we were offered a $25 off card on our next dining experience, with some chocolate truffles to take home (I think this is given to all guests) and another $25 off our next visit for filling out a survey. I will complete the survey, but only to let them know of my poor experience (so they can fix the issue for future patrons), but I do not believe we will be back. The atmosphere, ambiance and clientele were not our style. We'll stick to a steakhouse closer to our home, which has reasonable prices, a nice atmosphere and wonderful service. Simply not worth the money, even with a coupon.
Once our dietary challenge is up, we'll be doing a "mulligan" on this dinner and perhaps go somewhere more suited to our tastes/styles.
Service here is absolutely amazing - you will be treated like a star! Â The music selection (2000s pop mixed with Norah Jones) is weird and makes what should be a super swank ambience a little Chilis-esque. Â The wine list on the iPad is super fun and handy - it made selecting a wine by the glass easy peasy. Â The sliced filet mignon small plate sure was tasty, even if the risotto was crunchy... My hubby's sirloin was flavorful, but not the best I'd ever had, and with a $40 price tag, I would have expected more.
I'd totally come back for their happy hour deals! Â Also, if you do OpenTable, this is a 1,000 point restaurant. Â :)
My wife took me to Flemings for my birthday dinner. It was by far my most enjoyable dinning experience. The service was excellent from the greeter at the door to the manger that stopped by our table to ensure we were enjoying our meal. The portions are huge and the food is flavorful. The cocktails are tasty and their wine selection on the iPad offers a touch of elegance. Keep up the good work !!
Review Source:What can I say, I have never had a bad experience at any Fleming's, and the Dunwoody location is no exception. Â Staff were exceptional and food was absolutely great. Â Happy hour is awesome and the lobster tempura is one of my favorites. Â
I flip between getting steaks and the pork chop when I come here, but both are fantastic. Every steak I have ever ordered is cooked to perfection. The pork is usually cooked great too, but sometimes they will cook it a bit too long. Still tastes great though.
Fleming's Steakhouse & Wine Bar offers a great happy hour setting and a specialized menu. Â Fleming's is located outside of the perimeter (OTP) near Perimeter Mall in the Perimeter Place Village business district. Â My friends and I ventured to Fleming's on a Thursday evening to partake in the "5 For 6 'Til 7 bar menu.
Most happy hours take place in dive bars and less than fancy restaurants but let me tell you that Fleming's is a first class, all around sexy restaurant. Â The lighting is very dim (yes, even on a bright sunshiny day at 5p) and the background sounds make for an intimate ambiance. Â We approached the bar to order drinks and were quickly greeted by a friendly bartender whom familiarized us with the drink menu and a welcoming smile. Â Ohhh, how I love great service! Â The three of us ordered a round of Blood Orange Fizz cocktails while mingling with other happy hour goers. Â The place holds a pretty decent crowd.
The bar area is small but you can also enjoy the bar menu on the enclosed outdoor patio with ceiling fans.  Being that the bar area was a bit too dark and crowded for girl talk, we ventured to the patio deck area.  The bar area is lovely if you can manage to grab a seat or table.  If not, have a seat outside where you can see and hear your friends better while enjoying Georgia's weather.  On the patio we were promptly greeted with ice water and bread to munch on while viewing the food menu.  The sourdough bread is very moist on the inside while crispy on the outside.  It is accompanied with garlic butter and sun-dried tomato butter.  The garlic butter was my favorite but the sun-dried tomato butter was also flavorful and savory.  My party placed orders for Sweet Chili Calamari and Roasted Mushroom  Ravioli.  Both dishes were well presented, generously proportioned and delicious.
I recommend the Happy Hour at Fleming's Steakhouse & Wine Bar if you are interested in delectable eateries while having intimate conversation. Â This isn't the type of venue that offers a wild happy hour setting that can be found in most bars. Â It is much classier and the patrons are mostly after 5 o'clock professionals still in business attire. Â This would be the ideal location for hosting after-hour business meetings, couple dates and indulging in early dinner specials.
Fleming's gave us a perfect evening! My boyfriend and I went for his birthday, and the service was exceptional from the moment we walked through the door. Our server was attentive and friendly, and the food was delectable. We ordered the chicken breast, mashed potatoes, and a six-ounce steak. Everything was wonderful. The chicken had a great flavor, the steak wax tender, and we couldn't stop eating the potatoes. Neither of us enjoyed the Fleming's Potatoes, but that was minor.
Before we ate, my boyfriend was given a birthday card signed by the staff. After the meal, the staff gave him a box of (rich, delicious) truffles and a $25 gift card. We weren't too hungry, so we skipped appetizers and dessert. It's definitely a costly meal (it was more than $100 after tip for the two of us), but it was a wonderful experience. Perfect for a special occasion.
Server was Sean and he was very good! He kept on checking up on us and was just very good..
Ordered: Lamb chops (very tender and good) loved it
North Atlantic Lobster (it was okay, there was A LOT of lobster meat, but i wish that some sort of seasoning was added to it instead of simply giving butter)
Mac and cheese: prob one of the better sides they have
Molten lava cake: mmmm good!!!
If i came back i would definitely order the lamb chops again..
LOVE: The steak and the service
NO LOVE: The price
This place is expensive. 2 adults and 1 child, each ordering a soda, and the adults having steaks. Total cost of dinner was around $180. No appetizers, no desserts.
That being said... these guys are on it from the second you walk in! The hostess asks for your name, and it seems like suddenly everyone in there knows your name! Everyone was absolutely polite and helpful! The bathrooms were nice, love their towels! The dining area was elegant with a touch of trendy.
Their wine list? They give you an iPad to go through their wines!!! I ended up picking one for Amanda, and she LOVED it!
So... here's what we ordered. Lola had the child's steak and fries. Her meal also came with sliced apples with a ranch dip. Amanda had the filet special (topped with crab meat), and also had a loaded baked potato. I had the bone-in ribeye with a side of creamed corn. The bread they bring you is pretty good, but it's served with 2 different kinds of cheese spread, which were both wonderful!
How can I best describe my food experience?? I love taking pictures of my food and posting them on Facebook. It pisses off my friends and makes them hungry, which brings me pleasure (evil laugh). When my steak came out, I didn't have a chance to think about taking a picture. I believe i blacked out for a minute, and came back to reality after having a few bites of my steak. O... M... G... yeah... need a minute here.
Yes, it was that good! Amanda also said her steak was better than J. Alexanders (which is the only place she has found who can cook a filet to her liking). Sure it's better... it has to be! You're paying for it! lol
Yes I will be going back, but will have to save my trips for very special occasions. It's absolutely worth the money, and I think every steak lover ought to try it!
BTW - we both ordered our steaks medium rare. So glad they didn't do what other places do... over cook it!
Another great spot in the Perimeter Mall area. Four stars is for the group/corporate entertaining aspect (ie, not my favorite steak in town but still solid, which would merit 3 stars). . .
Perfect for entertaining business clients, especially at dinner. If you have 10 or more (and an expense account), definitely consider their private dining room for a special evening.
Love the decor, and the service is great. Excellent wine choices and solid food. This is what I'd consider an "entertaining" spot- whether it's work or pleasure, if you're looking for something in this part of town that's a little bit schmancy, Fleming's is a great choice. The bar is perfect for a quick drink before you sit down, and the seating is nice whether you're a party of four (taking the in-laws to dinner maybe?) or a bigger group.
I always get filet and enjoy theirs. The usual sides. If you're looking for a good steakhouse in this part of town, definitely check them out.
It is an amazing experience. The courtesy in this restaurant is a gold rule from the moment you arrive. Â They really make feel Us really welcome, the waiter was incredible well trained, the food was beyond of outstanding, the environment is casual elegant and impecable.
I will definely recommend this place to my friends and followers.
This is an amazing place! Â The service is so friendly and attentive and the food is terrific. Â I highly recommend the lava cake. Â They make their own whipped cream and it's the best.
I have absolutely nothing but good things to say here. Â We've been several times for special occasions and it's always perfect.
Great steakhouse but as I've stated before The Capital Grille is my one true love when the subject is steak.
Definitely go after work for happy hour... they have $5-6 drink specials and 1/2 priced appetizers...great place to start your evening after a hard day's work.
Would I dine there again?...probably not, nothing special, no fireworks on my tongue, no tingling feeling up and down my spine BUT for good cheap happy hour it will do, since I live in the vicinity :-)
Excellent staff and great food. Â We love to go for the 5 for $6 until 7. Â Drinks as well as food are very flavorful. Â Also sign up for Friends of Flemings and be sure to check your receipt because if you spend over $100 you get a $25 credit when you make a reservation via the web for your next visit.
Be sure to ask for chips as well as bread and the great spread if you sit in the bar area. Â Also, they have seasonal specials that are usually enough to share with an appetizer, entree and dessert at decent prices.
Flemings is a top tier steakhouse, with middle tier quality food. Â I'm utterly shocked at the high ratings it receives here - I have to believe most of the high raters haven't been to the other top steakhouses in Atlanta.
Don't get me wrong, all of the food is good. Â But for the price point Flemings is in, I expect to be impressed, with occasional wowing. The only wow I had was my Martini (which was the best I've ever had). But there just wasn't anything that I thought I couldn't make just as well at home. Crab wrap appetizer - good, not great. Caprese Salad - nice presentation, average at best taste. Creamed spinach - good, not great. Ribeye steak - tastey, but frankly one of the worst I've had at high end steakhouse (and it first came out refrigerator cold in the middle and I had to send it back - I eat out a lot, and I almost never send anything back). Our server, Janet, was excellent, and service was great all around. The decor and atmosphere definitely did fit the high end steakhouse mold, as well - if only the food did.
Overall, Flemings is trying to play in the same space as Bones, Rathbun Steak, Hal's, New York Prime, McKendricks, BLT Steak, etc, and it's not in the ballpark with those restaurants. Don't waste your money.
Ditto Wanda J. Flemings is definitely one of the best chain steakhouse ever~ Â My hubs and I wanted to celebrate my new job so we decided to go to Fleming's since I've had it on my "to eat" list for a while. Â We stopped by the Perimeter Costco on our way there and we picked up a $100 Fleming's gift certificate for $80! Â Thanks Wanda J for the suggestion. Â ;) Â
I got the chef's special, a 5 ounce filet (medium rare) with risotto and 3 blackened scallops. Melt in your mouth goodnesss~ YUM! Â I didn't have to sprinkle any extra black pepper or salt on my filet. Â Anyone who knows me knows I ALWAYS add my own seasoning. Â The risotto was perfectly cooked (not too mushy) and the scallops were great too (not too salty). Â My hubs got the 6 ounce filet and shared the mac n' cheese side with me. Â Very cheesey mac n' cheese with a nice bread crumb topping. Â =) Â I love the extra crunch from the bread crumb topping. Â We shared a bottle of wine, I don't remember the name, but it was a Sonoma Valley Organic & Sustainable Pinot Noir (around $35?). Â Very affordable and tasty at the same time.
We shared the molten lava cake for dessert. Â OMG. Definitely the most lava-ish lava cake I've ever had. Â I loved the extra lava oozing out of the cake =) made me want to lick the plate clean. Â
Service was great the entire meal. Â Other than the pricey check we paid at the end, Fleming's was definitely a great place to celebrate!
Flemings is awesome. Here's a breakdown--
Free bread: Bread is bread, but their spreads are amazing. I just HAD to ask them for extra bread and both spreads to-go.
Appetizer: Calamari. It's served crispy with banana peppers covered in some type of deeeelicious sauce.
Sides: Half & Half. Just regular onion rings and fries. Nothing too special. Now that I think about it, I should have ordered a different side.
Spinach. YUM. It was super buttery, and geeewwwd.
Main Dishes: Ribeye with Bone-In. GREAT STEAK. Pricey, yes, but it was just so tender cooked to a perfect medium.
Peppercorn NY Strip. I've got to say, it wasn't as good as the ribeye. But it was still good, no doubt.
Dessert: My one MAJOR recommendation? Save room for dessert. Get the molten lava cake. It was the best one I've had, ever. Cake, hot chocolate lava inside, two scoops of ice cream. It's not so "thick and cake-y". It's sweet, but not too sweet. They give you a bowl of home-made whip cream to go with the lava cake, which is light and delectable. I would come here just to get the dessert.
It's not cheap, so make sure you got enough money in that bank! hah!
I want to give a big thanks to Mr. Tousek for hooking me up with a gift card in the mail.  Never been here before, but this place was great for a Prime Steakhouse anywhere.  This place can rival Ruth's Chris or Stoney River  any day.  These people know what they are doing - History lesson - Flemming is the "F" in PF Changs China Bistro, by far the best chinese on the North side of town.  I did work there though.  Back to Fleming night -  I got there just in time for the great happy hour deal on a couple of Hefe's (beers) and a seared Ahi Tuna app, that was huge and great with an awesome ginger slaw, that I consumed, even if it was mainly for decoration. Â
Here is where you can save some money if you are trying to live on a budget like my fiance and I - We split the entre and side. Â We got the full size Prime Filet - with both bernaise and peppercorn sauce on the side. Â The Fleming's Potatoes are a must try - probably the creamiest, cheesiest "gonna make you fat" potatoes you can find. Â All there sides are oversized and intended for sharing. Â
Wish I had room for dessert - they all looked amazing. Â Guess what people - service was A+. Â I sat at the bar because the main room was full, but that was cool, becuase I got to see the Braves come from behind and then lose it to the Giants. And yes I did write this a couple weeks late, but this place deserves a full dining room every night.
Wow, I hate to hear anything bad about Fleming's as we have had nothing but wonderful experiences every time we go (we go about four times a year and have been doing so for the past four years).
The food is some of the best in Atlanta - in fact, my husband and I think their steaks are better than NY Prime, Bones, Chops and all the "big" steakhouses in Atlanta (we have tried most of them). Â They are seasoned just right and cooked to perfection! Â I recently tried the scallop dish, as I was not in the mood for steak, and it was delicious as well. Â The Chipotle Mac & Cheese is the best mac and cheese I have ever tasted and a must for our visit to Fleming's! Â If you have room for dessert, you must get the Chocolate Lava Cake which is served with ice cream and chopped pistachios - a nice addition to this cake that is served so many places. Â
As for the service - we have had nothing but fantastic service and everyone has gone above and beyond to make sure we are happy. Â I cannot think of a single time when our service did not meet our expectations. Â It's too bad to hear that others did not have the service we seem to always have.
If you can, get on Fleming's mailing list as they host several wine dinners throughout the year to a small group which are always a great deal and an enjoyable experience!
The first Fleming's I visited was back in 2003 in Birmingham AL. ( I don't think Fleming's existed here at that point) The steaks there were AMAZING! Really thick cut and cooked so well.
It seemed quite different this time. My husband and I went this past weekend. We got the 2 $50 giftcards for $80 at Costco. We went to the Perimeter location. First, for a Saturday night, it was totally dead. I'd say two other tables were seated. One family came in later.
Food: Super over priced for the quality.
Bread on the table: Eh. But served with delicious butters. The best thing I had all night.
Apps: We tried the crabcakes and the mushroom ravioli. Crabcakes (2 cakes) were bread-y and salty and I supposed you get what you order with mushroom ravioli (3 pcs). It was just mushroom ravioli
Entrees: I ordered the Lobster tails (2 tails mkt price) They were cold, dry and rubbery. Definitely overcooked. My husband got the porcini filet (somewhere around $38) It seemed overcooked. He ordered it medium. He cut about a 1/3 off the steak and it was brown. He cut directly in the center it was barely pink. In my experience, a good medium center should be pink throughout.
Sides: Half and Half (onion rings and thin cut fries)- I love onion rings and these were pretty good. Probably my 2nd favorite thing of the evening. And we got the Fleming's potatoes- which are are like scalloped potatoes with blue cheese. They were pretty good.
The portions are of good size. We ended up taking home pretty much half of our food.
I won't ever go back though because of the quality weighed against price. I don't mind spending money on really good food. I have spent a pretty penny- Joe's Stone Crab in Miami comes to mind. . .But this place isn't worth it. Go to Wildfire across the street.
Fleming's is a smallish chain of higher-end steakhouses like Ruth's Chris, Morton's, Chicago Prime, The Palm, The Capital Grille and so forth. Â Now that I think about it, there are a lot of restaurants with similar menus courting the same market, but I guess it's a pretty classic concept. Â Â Now normally I'd prefer to go to a local non-chain like Bone's, Kevin Rathbun Steak or McKendrick's, but I was invited to a birthday dinner here.
Let me say upfront, the service was surprisingly terrible for a place in this price range (in fact so terrible, it required manager intervention just to get dessert menus), but I believe this was likely a server-specific issue rather than an intrinsic problem with this restaurant. Â I don't like to fault places for one-time bad service experiences; I do criticize places for bad service if it is recurrent and I have gone enough to establish that there is a pattern of problems with the service. Â Even great restaurants can't eliminate the possibility of rare bad service. Â So here I'll concentrate on the food, which was, for the most part, spot on. Â
They started by bringing us their rosemary bread with two different spreads. Â The champagne-infused brie was very nice. Â I ordered a Caesar salad for a starter, but it was mediocre -- they used inferior lettuce and the croutons were like rocks. Â Maybe it was just poorly prepared, but the flavor of the dressing wasn't a stand-out either. Â I preferred what I tasted of a Spinach salad (which was part of the night's three course prix fixe). Â Luckily the meal was all uphill from there. Â
My filet au poivre was perfectly prepared and delicious; no complaints on the steak side. Â I tried various bits of other entrees too. Â The prix fixee entree was a similar steak, but it came with potato croquettes and they were very good from what I tasted. Â The scallops were also good. Â As far as sides went, the Chipotle Mac and Cheddar was a stand-out. Â I think that's my favorite version of macaroni and cheese to date. Â I'd order that again in a heartbeat. Â The sauteed mushrooms were good too, and I'm undecided on the Fleming's Potatoes. Â They seem like they would be good, but it was cold by the time I got to try it so I can't really say.
For dessert, the prix fixee came with Banana Creme Brulee. Â Normally I'm not big on banana desserts, but this was excellent. Â We also ordered a Walnut Turtle Pie and it was just amazing. Â We got a cheesecake slice as a concession for the terrible service, and it was pretty good too, but the pie was definitely the standout, IMO.
Between the bread and brie, the filet au poivre, the chipotle cheddar mac and cheese and the walnut turtle pie, the food was really hit the spot, so that's why this place gets a 4 (in spite of the service).
I get here a couple time a year on a date or simply as a major treat. As everyone has said, the service here from everybody working is always good and they know their jobs well.
This is probably the only place I have paid $10 for a salad and say it is worth it. I always have the Fleming's Salad with candied walnuts and cranberries and balsamic-vinegar dressing that makes it all good.
Their crab cakes with "lump crab" is one of the very few places where the crab is ACTUALLY "lump" crab as it says on the menu! I love their Double Thick Pork Rib Chop and Filet Mignon and next thing on my list is the Double Breast of Chicken w/white wine, mushroom, shallot and thyme sauce, a sauce that sounds so good to me that I am going to ask them to put that in a wine glass!
I love the patio at Fleming's. I've been there maybe 5 times, and sat on the patio EVERY time. The interior has a sexy feel, though - not opposed to it.
The service is always excellent: kind, funny, helpful and attentive. I brought my mom here for her birthday and the entire wait staff signed a birthday card for her.
They're closed for lunch, boo. Â But, could accommodate special groups for lunch. Â Great private space for corporate events or receptions.
Entrees are a little pricey for me, I usually opt for a couple drinks and appetizers.
Pretty impressive.
I tend to not adore chains. Â Sure I go to them all the time, but I'm not expecting a lot.
Fleming's is a nation-wide steakhouse chain (I've also been to one in Omaha) that has a very "cigar and a steak", dimly lit ambiance. Â The waiters are very professional and know their stuff. Â And the food is dang good.
I came to this Fleming's for my work "holiday" party. Â We rented out a private room that was fairly small, but seated all 30ish of us. Â It was a pretty sweet deal...appetizers laid in the outskirts of the room to graze on, open bar, etc. Â
For the sit down meal, the twice baked potato was a thing of beauty. Â I don't know why twice baked potatoes aren't more common. They kick baked potatoes' asses. Â Or I'm just incredibly lazy and don't want to have to go to the trouble to dress my own potato. Â And of course what's truly important at a steakhouse: my steak was amazing. Â The rest of the night's a bit hazy...eh heh.
The other time I dined here I was equally impressed.
Two out of two ain't bad.
