I was there the night of comedy with the belligerent customer who was allowed to stay. I'd been there other comedy nights where other patrons were loudly and rudely talking during sets with no assistance from the very inatrentive bar staff but whatever. I was there for my friends. Then THAT NIGHT happened. What an ugly display of humanity, exacerbated by the employees. How unfortunate your "regular" was given more consideration than the folks actually bringing in guests that night. If these are the type of people you prefer patronize your pretty crappy bar, then you deserve them. Bitter Republicans...you can HAVE your bar!

Friday night for March Madness. First time walking in the door. Server was friendly. I had a Turkey burger with fries. It was quite tasty. TVs all over the place. The bathroom was clean which isn't always the case in a bar. I will go back!

So I was at the open mic here tonight, and am disgusted by both a customer's action, and the establishment's handling of it. A drunk douche was being a real cretin, hitting on all the girls and being loud during the sets and he starts shouting at the comics and the performer onstage using racial and homophobic slurs as bad as they get. Even crazier stuff calling us "wealth distributing liberals". He threw a punch at a comic. Apparently he's a regular, so instead of being immediately kicked out, they coddled him and he hung around for a good 20 minutes. After he was ejected with an even more disgusting verbal tirade, the staff apologized with the shocking, "Don't worry, he won't be allowed here on THURSDAYS anymore!" How about he won't be allowed back EVER? Great way to stick up for your customers and comics that are giving you free entertainment. I loved doing comedy there, but I won't be back ever.

    THE WORST PLACE POSSIBLY EVER.
Warning: this rating is mainly based on horrible customer service.

To be fair, I did frequent this place a lot last baseball season and was huge fan of their street tacos. However, this all changed tonight. I'm so enraged that I'm writing this review at 12:15am.

I met up with a friend tonight at FSG to grab a beer and to catch up after work. To our surprise it was stand-up comedy night. Everything was going great, good tacos, average beer and some good laughs. This all stopped once a customer got out of control and started a verbal fight with one of the comedians. It immediately escalated and got confrontational. I was literally sitting next to this brewing hot mess before people intervened. To my surprise this customer was not kicked out. HE WAS ALLOWED TO STAY IN THE BAR EVEN THOUGH HE WAS BEING CONFRONTATIONAL AND THREATENING.  And to make things worse he was being insanely racist, rude and offensive. The bartenders did not kick him out because he was a "regular" customer. They allowed him to stay but he kept trying to start fights repeatedly. Eventually all of the bartenders left with the customer to the back while they left their other paying customers in the bar by themselves. My friend wanted to leave but there was no one around to close out her tab. My friend, after waiting a substantial amount of time went behind the bar for her card. A waitress eventually appeared out of nowhere and accosted her for trying to get her card. THE WAITRESS WHO DID NOTHING ALL NIGHT, GAVE US THE MOST ATTITUDE AS IF IT WAS OUR FAULT THAT SHE WASN'T CLOSING OUT TABS. Horrible service, just horrible.

I am beyond angry and offended by this establishment. To let a customer say such offensive comments AND be aggressive AND violent is not acceptable. I don't care if he's a "regular" customer.I will never set foot back in this place because this type of behaviour should not be allowed anywhere at anytime.

My homies and I have been frequenting this place on weekdays after work. They have the illest beers on tap and some fine honeys to look at.

Best place to eat and watch sports in all of Sac County. Great food, they show all football games, college and pro, and hold special events for the UFC shows. Safe to take children, the waitresses appropriately dressed.

I have given this place chance after chance, they consistently disappoint!!! Food is the quality of an all you can eat buffet in Tahoe or Reno. The service is always lacking. I wish it was better as the location and TV setup is excellent. The Purple Place is less than a mile away and will get all of my business from now on. Sorry sports garage you had your chance(s) but you always let me down.

Used to be a big fan, but they seem to have lost their magic. food is average/pretty good. The last time i was there, I got 3/4's of a couple of beers (too much head). The place is pretty dead.
Sad, it was really awesome a year or two ago, it seems like someone let the air out of the baloon.

Yes, we came back. They really need a bartender that has experience. Food not so fabulous. Why are they still here?

I've been here four or five times and to put it bluntly, this place needs to get its act together.  The food is decent enough (chicken wings and potato skins) and the beer is cheep enough ($3 for a big CL during happy hour), but what pisses me off about this place is the happy hour prices keep changing and the wait staff does not have a clue.  I asked how much a beer was and the waitress could not tell me.  The last time I went, they had shifted the happy hour around and my bill was double what it usually is.  The waitress implied that  it was my fault - what a bitch.  I hope she enjoys her penny tip.  Go to Purple Place.

Excellent philly cheese steak.  A little pricey for lunch at $10 + $1 for sweet potato fries + 2.50 for iced tea.  Excellent service - tea was full the whole time and food came out fresh and hot.  It's a little slow, so make sure you have a  little more than an hour.  Could definitely see this also being a good happy hour place - let me know when!

I found myself in the Sacramento area on business and planned to visit a nearby friend while I had some time to spare.  Not wanting to go to a chain since I preferred experiencing some local flavor (cuz when am I ever gonna be in Folsom again?), he suggested this nearby hangout that he frequents to watch sports, especially UFC events

A nice server and the layout is what distinguished the Garage from other places of similar ilk.  The food is about what you'd expect, the menu had enough options like sandwiches, burgers, fish and chips, etc. to go along with drinks, apetizers, and desserts.  I went with a chicken parmesean sandwich.  Even though I was buying my dinner on the corporate credit card and price wasn't an issue, I sure got out of here pretty cheap.  Almost makes me wish I ordered 2 meals, but even my appetite has limits.

We sat on the stage area where there are mini couches basically, but didn't feel like I was in the spotlight up there.  It's somewhat of a smaller place, but with the bar area to the immediate left of the entrance with some other seating options in that area, combined with the tables on the main floor and mini stage, as well as TVs spread all around, it gives the place a nice vibe and doesn't feel confined at all.  The server was real friendly and stopped to chat several times.

If I actually lived here I think I'd be happy making this my place to go see UFC fights too.

Nice set-up, nice TVs, but the service still sucks at this place. The service has sucked since it opened, and I've been there many times. Was there for the Jets/ Broncos game last Thursday, and we were waiting around so much and almost had to grab our waitress to get her attention.

The beer selection is alright. Prices on beers aren't too bad, though.

Meh.  One server for the entire dining area last night, and she was busing tables as well.  She was moving fast, but could have used help.  Food took a while to get.  Advertised sides were missing from the sandwich plate, and fries were cold.

We've been here twice and so far so good!! Nachos are AMAZING, huge portion and delicious. The Burgers are delicious, love the seasoned bread and the chipotle mayo. Great location to watch your favorite team!! Raffles are fun too!!  Service could use some improvement though.

We had a great late lunch on Saturday. My food was great! I tried the buffalo chicken sandwich with garlic fries and Boyd had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich with garlic fries. It was a nice atmosphere and good service!

Im close to rating 2 stars but there were some good things.  Bad- the wings.  All 3 of us thought they were the worst wings we've ever had.  Good- fsg fish tacos, barrio fries, beer.

Great addition to the neighborhood!  Just exactly the place I'm looking to chill after work.  Friendly enough to fill at home, clean enough to meet folks for fun and conversation.  Plus, I get all my drinks for free!  JK, not really, but prices are good, and there is a great selection of beer, food, and my personal favorite, tequilas! :)

OK food. OK beer selection. OK service. (seeing a trend here?)

I do have a gripe with the prices, however. The beer is WAY overpriced, which will prove to be the Garage's downfall. Well, that and the wings, which were not good.

Unfortunately, I can see this location being vacant in the near future... again.

Sorry guys, wish it could have worked out. We could use a good sportsbar in town. Unfortunately, Garage barely misses the mark.

Folsom Sports Garage Bar & Grill

This was my first time there. Nice clean little sports bar with TVs everywhere. They had a live band this Saturday night and they were just ok. I sat at a table that had linnen napkins (nice touch) the waitress was nice. I ordered the Polish Dog. It took 20-25 minutes to get my order. I think partly because they didn't have enough waitresses that night. My Polish Dog was terrible. It was bad even for bar food. It was tough to chew and it seemed like it was reheated from the day before. I took 2 bites and threw it away.

On the positive side: I would return there for drinks with friends. It had a nice energy, friendly staff, I would eat before I get there.

    Worth another shot.

changed from 4 to 3 stars. They no longer have Allagash on draft. THe beer selection has slimmed and they tend to be out of whatever I order. The food is still "ok"

Folsom Sports Garage gets a thumbs up in my book because they are one of the few "sports bar and/or grill" 's in the area that actually offers NBA and NFL ticket packages (and probably other sports but basketball and football are my favorite) which show all of the games one could desire. They have a long bar and they dining room seating is nice, not to mention the food is really good too. Sundays they offer bottomless mimosas for a relatively low price which is reeeeally nice for football Sunday fundays! But be warned, the last time I was there our group literally sucked them dry of all their champagne... I don't know if that is a negative aspect of the establishment or simply a tribute to how awesome me and my friends are :)

Place is awesome.  Great service, good food, excellent happy hour specials.  Plenty of tv's and seating.  Good crowd.  Great place to catch a game.

went here for some Monday Night Football action. I got nachos sans meat and a coupla glasses of wine. The nachos were kinda bland, diminutive in size and lacked any serious quantity of cheese, the guacamole, the pico, even the jalapenos were all bland - weird, right? I wish they had black beans and maybe some more inventive veggies. The quantity of TVs was great and the waitstaff was pretty attentive. I didn't see the bill, so I have no idea if the prices were reasonable, but I think I saw on the menu that my itty bitty plate of bland nachos was $9... over-priced from my POV, but hey... all that being said, I'd probably go back... for the TVs!

HD TV's everywhere. Awesome sports bar. The food keeps your belly full so you don't get too drunk.

Went there to watch Monday Night Football and it was a horrible experience. Too few bartenders, overcrowded, long wait for service.  Twice now this has happened.  Will not be back.

A great addition to Folsom's northwest side of town (Briggs Ranch & Empire Oaks areas. Located near the intersection of East Natoma and Blue Ravine.

SG is located in the defunct Ravine location which has yet to produce a keeper.

Lots of brew on tap and great pub fare. Excellent TV placement throughout so it is great for catching the big game with friends.

During this past season's NBA playoffs this place was packed.

Indoor and outdoor seating is available.

The $2 street tacos are excellent and no doubt a natural result of having a sister restaurant (Mexquite) at the opposite end of the shopping center.

I really like the setup here. The walls are almost literally lined with TVs so there's practically good seating everywhere. Bar is fully stocked, nice beer selection on tap or bottled. Haven't tried much of the food yet only because I've only come during happy hour and get full off the dollar tacos and free appetizer plate. I did try the mushroom, jalapeno burger which was really good.
The servers are real nice and have been good at making sure you have everything you need. I think it's a great place to watch games and/or have happy hour.

I'd read the reviews....and figured I'd check em out, since I wanted to watch two games at once....Red Sox/A's and Yankees/Rangers.

The place was "lightly busy" when I arrived at 7 pm on a Sat night.  Parking was easy, but you could see it could get tight quick....but there are plenty of spots just a few hundred feet from the place.

Started with the chips/salsa ($3.50 for that?)....chips were warm and didn't appear from a bag, which is good.  Not sure if they are made on site, but they aren't your regular nacho chips.  Salsa didn't look inviting at all, but tasted pretty good.

Added a "tall" Blue Moon with that, and also ordered the Jalapeno Mushroom Burger with onion rings ($1 extra).  Didn't taste many jalapeno's if any in there, but it did have a nice kick, and the mushrooms with jack cheese were very nice.
    Burger was done perfectly.

The onion rings?  Well....be ready to EAT!  BIG onion rings and not just two or three....  Came with some dijon mayo/mustard combo that really hit on the rings!

That "tall" Blue Moon?  $9.50....so this place knows how to CHARGE....but it was the equivalent to two regular beers....so maybe that's ok?

Near the end of my visit, I switched to diet coke and got an (unrequested) refill of the chips/salsa.  Neither appeared on the bill.  That picked them up a star!

I'll be back.  This place appears to have potential and there are NO shortage of HDTV's to watch to follow your favorite team.

    Update - 9/12/2010

Well, it seems this was the place to be to watch the Patriots game today, so I went back.  Had the Mexican Skillet and a diet coke.  The staff was great again and I've decided that they deserved a 5 star vote.

I'll be back weekly....gotta watch my Patriots!

Good atmosphere and good setup for TVs, with plenty and bountiful number of flat screens.  Definitely a place which would be good to watch a big game and have drinks with friends.

The food left more to be desired -- I had the classic burger with onion rings, which was good but not quite as big as Smashburger.  It was bigger though than Smash's and at $9 maybe just a touch expensive.  My friends had the nachos which were decent and fish tacos which were also decent, but not very noteworthy.

The happy hour ... could be better with only $1 off beers.  Appetizer deals were better though.

Give it time and I think the Folsom Sports Garage could grow on us, almost a 4 star rating.
