This resteraunts is one of our favorites. This particular nite we have never been more disappointed. Two birthdays,  and  an engagement to be celebrated. Our party of eleven have never been treated this way. Cold food, salty food, not clearing of plates and finally air conditioning condensation POURING on our food. When brought to their attention, no apology or compensation made at all.  This was a five hundred dollar bill. We were treated rudely and got no satisfaction. Very disappointed. Our guests from out of town were outraged and sad. Can't say we will ever go back. Wonder if they are under new management?  Usually the manager comes around to ask if everything is okay, no one ever asked us.
Review Source:I really enjoyed dinner and drinks here on the patio. The bar itself is large, dark and has lots of TVs, but they seem to be a little more upscale than a typical sports bar. The food was tasty and they had a variety of items (burgers, sandwiches, pizza, apps, salads, and entrees). They had a beer menu with something for everyone and some cocktails of the week that sounded creative. I'd definitely go back.
Review Source:Still liking The Four's. Been a few more times since my original review.
I definitely would get there by 5:15 on Friday and Saturday nights. It gets so busy and the bar fills up really fast. It also gets really loud between the TVs, music blaring and people getting drunk. I'm surprised to see how many people come in with kids of all ages, from infants to 10 year olds.
Recently tried the buffalo rangoons. Pretty much a crab rangoon but swap the crab for buffalo chicken dip. It doesn't have any chicken in it( at least our order didnt) and it comes with blue cheese to dip. While they were very good, $10 for 5 of them wasn't worth it. Its an app and a small one at that. Don't really get bang for your buck with those, IMO. Thank God there was only 2 of us, otherwise if you're in a group you're lucky to get just one. So while they were tasty and different, for $10 we will get apps that have more to them.
For the meal I got the fish and chips. I asked our waitress how it was and she said its fresh local fish so I decided to go with it. It comes with fries and 'onion rings' which aren't typical onions rings. They're those small crispy things that are basically onion ring flavored crunchy sticks. I didn't eat those but the fries and fish were very good. The fish was white and flavorful and I would defnitely get it again.
Unfortunately we got there at 5:45 on a Saturday night and had to wait 10 min. When we got seated, however, we got this tiny round table randomly placed at the corner of the bar and high top tables. It sucked pretty bad but they said it would be at least 20-25 min before a regular table opened up so we bit the bullet and sat there. In the future we will wait for a table.
The Fours is a good classic sports bar, and generally a crowd pleaser for the group I was dining with on this evening. Â I enjoyed the turkey burger, which, while a little messy, was pretty worth it. Â I opted for the onion rings because I always opt for the onion rings when possible. Â We shared a deadly dark and yummy chocolate cake, and though it looked amazing and tasted lovely... it was a bit too bit for the plate on which it was served since it was hard to keep it upright while eating and the plate was too small to allow it to fall on its side. My only other complaint may have been due to the holiday season, which is the green light that was over our table, it was simply awful, and made everything set in front of me look completely strange. Â I managed to get used to it, but I do not recommend the "holiday" lighting" for next year - keep it simple and hang up a wreath, the green color was sickening. Â Our server was great and the hostess was sweet. Â She placed us in a perfect corner booth, noting that it would give us spaces for our bags, etc. since we clearly had gifts to exchange. Â I will note that there was an ungracious other worker there, but his manager was contacted and accordingly, I will not take away from the rest of the staff's clear love of their jobs.
Review Source:Would give 3.5 stars. Went for dinner on a Monday night and sat the bar with my husband. The beer and hard cider were cold and refreshing. I had the Joan Benoit sandwich. Â They had no problem swapping out fries for onion rings and omitting the baked beans. The sandwich was tasty and big. The pineapple was a nice touch. It was a messy sandwich and I was glad I had some wipes in my purse. Â My husband had the Larry bird and reported that it was yummy. He swapped out the fries for rice. The 2 girls working the bar were great - they were fast, noticed when glass was getting close to empty and they were cheerful, nice to have someone making the best of their job. Will definitely be going back
Review Source:Other than the buffalo chicken nachos I've never gotten the appeal of The Fours, in either the Quincy or Norwell location.
Until today... I chose the portabella mushroom and onion pizza ordered well done - sooooo yummy! (The turkey burger is pretty pretty good as well)
I definitely would order it again..I might add some tomatoes to it as well.
We usually come here because there's lot's of free parking, there's never a wait and it's never packed with "yeah, dude, kheds" like the Quincy location if we want to sit at the bar.
The food is great and so is the service. I usually get the Buffalo Mac and Cheese and Kelly likes the Buffalo Chicken Nachos, either for an appetizer or for her meal when she does want to share. Everything comes out quick from the kitchen and always taste fresh. I also looove the rolls and butter that they have but usually you have to ask for them.
There's plenty of tv's to watch the game, no matter where your sitting you can always see one (or two)!
We have only been here about 4 times because it's not very conveniently located for us. Â It has a nice sports bar atmosphere, the service is good and friendly and the beer selection is excellent. Â The food is basically pub fare and they do a decent job. All in allm it's an OK place but I never crave a visit.
Review Source:The Fours in Norwell is one of my regular spots not only because of its proximity to my house, but also because of the friendly and capable service, the diverse menu, and the clean-cut atmosphere. The pizza specials are probably the best deals on the menu, and are always tasty and creative. The Shrimp Diane is my favorite appetizer, but honestly, all of the appetizers are good. Get the Triple Play if you want a little sample of everything because the wings, skins, and steak and cheese egg rolls are all very good. I would recommend the Rigatoni Bolognese for a pasta dish. I'd give the burgers an 8/10 as they always satisfy, but don't rock my world. For an entree, the turkey tips are always perfectly cooked, never dry, and the barbecue sauce doesn't disappoint. Misses a 5-star rating because it can be a little pricey and while some dishes are good, and others are great, I can't call any of them AMAZING.
Review Source:Slightly over priced, but the decor and service are great. Free Parking. Â The food is solid and the beer selection is eclectic (Guinness on draft poured corrrectly). Not 5 stars because I burnt my mouth on scolding hot buffalo chicken ragoon which was a small portion especially when sharing with two others. Â The buffalo chicken nachos are awesomw though and we tried something called a black and blue which was wachusset bluberry with Guinness. Â Believe it or not its actually awesome. Id go back here.
Review Source:I'd like to give it 2.5 stars, but I am going to round up to 3 because the service was efficient, the restaurant was clean, and I didn't get sick off the food.
I came in with an old friend on a relatively quiet Wednesday night to catch up. Â She suggested The Fours in Norwell and since it had been awhile since I've been to this particular location... I figured, why not. Â There is a lot of free parking and the restaurant looks well maintained from the outside. Â I was early and I had no problem getting a table for the two of us and grabbing a drink while I waited for her.
Our server was extremely efficient, if not borderline overbearing. Â My friend barely slid in her seat before he was standing over us, "What would you like to drink?" Â When I put my finger on the menu, he was ninja-like in getting over to our table, "What would you like for dinner?" Â I appreciate good service, but even I know when to back off.
At any rate... we split the potato skins appetizer which was grossly disappointing. Â Halved potatoes topped with cheese and they looked nearly fried (very dark brown and crispy) with about a tablespoon of bacon bits on top. Â
She ordered a caesar salad with steak and I had the chicken caesar wrap that came with roasted red peppers and fries. Â Sandwiches are also served with a cup of baked beans, too. Â Not sure if I necessarily get it, but whatever.
The food was very status-quo. Â There was nothing special to it and certainly no outstanding flavor. Â Between the two of us and two sodas, our bill was $43 with taxes, so it was just over $50 with tip. Â For that kind of money and just a little more, we could have had a better meal at Cafe Elegaza nearby or one of the Derby Street restaurants.
I guess, if you're looking to grab a few drinks with a few friends and watch whatever game is on that night, this is the place for you.
So my experience started with a 90+yo senior citizen wiping out right in front of my feet and getting glared at when I tried to help. Â Chump don' want no help, chump don't GET da' help!
So I'm not sure what kind of omen this portends but the food at this place was alright at best. Â Here's a breakdown:
-- Horrible cup of chili: small portion of watery...probably canned chili
-- Greasy calamari: these were alright but too much breading and too greasy. Â I do dig the banana peppers though.
-- Buffalo tenders: decent but nothing remarkable or that tasty either. Â Chicken they used was a bit below average (some chewy bits...yuck).
-- Frozen margaritas: these were great. Â Made the right way with plenty of tequila and ice and don't overdue it with the mix
-- Service: funny and attentive waiter who brought out our orders promptly.
I love the Fours. Usually we go to the one in Quincy but we've tried out the location in Norwell lately just because their is tons of free parking and their usually isn't a wait.
My favorite, the Buffalo Chicken Nachos are just as good here but unfortunately my second favorite the french fries, are pretty bad here. L always gets the buffalo chicken mac and cheese and it is phenomenal. There always lots to take home. The service is great here also.
Definitely a go to place for us.
Food is pub quality. Mixed Drinks are very weak and expensive. Quincy Location does a better job, even boston location is better service on gameday. I have experienced the Fours in Norwell multiple times. The service is lacking but sometimes its a hit or miss. Very inconsistent. I would rather drive the extra mile to hingham and eat at one of the finer establishments that has the same prices with better food and drinks.
Review Source:I like THE FOURS....been there 10 times...in 2 years....from Sweet 16 bday party for 10 in sept on the patio.... to a recent party of 8 on a FRI nite in MARCH Â ( and no Madness!); Â and may 3 and 4 tops in between...staff is professional; food is good, fresh and fast....and KUDO's to mgmnt for debuting the first female celeb sandwich this month.....who better to run with the big boys like Bobby Orr, Larry Bird, Doug Flutie.....than Joan Benoit... a title 9 teaching moment for our table of 6 lady LAXers from local high school .....Joan WHO????
Ann is the best waitress on the planet and tho you may have to request water and /or bread....the place is meant for high energy and turnover.
The managers make a point to be on the floor and spot checking tables and I give them credit  for being accessible; many choices for the south shore dining dollar and I think they hustle... but don't rush you .
Yumm Yumm. This place was pretty good. I went here with some friends & we had some drinks & apps. The apps were okay the most creative thing I saw was buffalo chicken nachos. Spicy! The drinks were really strong who I like. The waiter was a little annoying, but did a good job. Other than that I would recommend the place, nice clean and the bathrooms are clean.
Review Source:Sent an email to the general manager at the fours and I spoke with him today. He apologized for our experienced and offered us a gift card and asked that we give his restaurant another chance.
I appreciated his response to his complaint and let him know as I stated in my initial review that we were very happy with the food.
We plan on giving The Fours in Norwell another chance but will be asking the hostess to seat us with a different waitress.
Third time's a charm! Â Last 2 visits (both for lunch) were A-OK but last night was the winner. Â MY b-day, so the hubs and I ventured out (sans daughter) for some dinner. Â Hubs ordered steak tips (medium-well) with fries and vegetable medley, plus a draft. Â I ordered the buffalo mac 'n' cheese with a Sangria. Â Delish! Â I have some left over for dinner tonight, and I'm already looking forward to it! Â Only get it if you're hungry or willing to tote home though... Â VERY filling (large portion). Â Service was good (a manager stepped in to take our order when our waiter was busy dispensing what looked to be about 50 beverages off of a large tray) and friendly.
Review Source:Nice atmosphere we usually sit at the bar watch the game and get either apps or sandwiches. Favorite apps - buffalo chicken nachos and buffalo wings. not so great steak and cheese eggrolls (Burtons are much better). Favorite meals - the steak tips either as meal or in the Bobby Orr. Cold beer, pleasant bartenders and wait staff what more can you ask for? Can get kind of loud on a Saturday night if you want to sit for dinner.
Review Source:Summary: Â Nice atmosphere, good food, surprising...
More: Â It's not a loud sports bar.
It's got everything you need for a sports bar, but it's spread out over such a large area that it tempers the normal loudness of your normal sports bar. Â Make no mistake, there are flat screen TVs all over the place. Â T
he Fours took over a former TGI Fridays location. Â I never visited Fridays there, but you wouldn't be able to tell that it was a Friday's if you didn't know it.
We went there with out friends and had a great dinner. Â The food was very good, the wait staff was very attentive.
My favorite of all the locations. The menu here is larger and it seems to change more seasonally. Food is always good and the service is great. The place is big, open, and clean. The prices are extremely reasonable too. It costs about the same as any national chains like the 99 but is definitely a few steps above in all around quality.
It's the go-to place for my boyfriend and I when we want a decent meal for cheap.
The Fours never disappoints us! Â The bartenders are fantastic and cater to us constantly. Â They know our names, they remember our drink orders and they make us laugh a lot! Â It is great at the end of the day to know you have a place to go where you feel welcome. Â Beautiful decor, always clean, everyone is friendly. Â We come here a lot and we will keep coming! Â It is too bad they don't have entertainment!
Review Source:It was a Wednesday night and we decided to come to the bar and grab a bite to eat. Â The bartender was prompt about getting our beers. Â We ordered the house wings, which came out quickly but were way too salty. Â We then got our turkey club and pastrami sandwiches. Â I expected my fries to be piping hot, but they were just lukewarm so I could tell my food was sitting there for a bit before someone was able to pick it up.
I only ate half my food, so i got my turkey club to go, and much to my chagrin, they did not put my fries in the container! - major disappointment! Â It was a $62 bill for 4 beers, appetizer and 2 sandwiches and I would at least expect all my food to be packed.
I would go here for a drink or two and appetizers, but there is nothing really extraordinary about the food.
I know I overrate places in the Hanover region but there is few and far between good places to eat. I am a fan of The Fours. The food is fresh and good quality for the price. Tons of TVs and the place has a great vibe. My only one complaint is that they switched the onion ring recipe...it was better beFOUR. I am a fan. Much better than the TGI McFunsters that was their before.
Review Source:I've been to the Boston and Quincy location before.
This Fours is my favorite by far.
We sat at a booth near the bar for lunch which was comfy soft leather and was SPOTLESS.
The entire place was super-clean actually.
The food was fresh and satisfying...and affordable, considering the location.
The service was FANTASTIC.
The bar has so many TV's that it is a prime spot to watch a game.
I will be back.
This place is definitely an excellent family restaurant as well as a great spot to grab a few drinks with friends. Â Recently, we caught an early dinner. Â We sat and ordered drinks while we waited for a few more people from our party to arrive. Â The waitress was very good. Â It seems that all the servers at the Fours like their jobs and are good at what they do. Â She kept appetizers and drinks coming til the rest of our party arrived. Â As for the food, it was excellent. The steak was tender and juicy & our fish dish was delicious. Â Burgers are always a good choice and were this night. Â At the end of our meal our server told us we were receiving 50% of 2 of our entrees since we qualified for the "early bird" - a nice bonus on top of a great meal.
Review Source:The food at the Fours is great. Unfortunately the service was not that up to par.
I went for a friends birthday and was served by christine k. This chick had been working a 12 hour shift and was letting us know it. We told her it was our friends birthday and she brought over a piece of cake. Then she was like "Do you want me to sing happy birthday?" And we're like uhhh..yes? Thanks for making it awkward!
Then after the cake she had the nerve to tell us we should all move to the bar (some of us still eating dinner) because she can't go home until she cashes out our check.
So lame, I can't even add humor to this review because of how lame this service was. So.....ooga booga, belly-button lint.
I stopped into this new place in Norwell to check it out on a Saturday night. Â It was packed. Â It took me about 25 minutes to find a seat. Â Once I did, it took me another 10 minutes to get the attention of the bartender who was telling jokes to his friends. Â I ordered a caesar and a chicken entree. Â After 40 minutes and hearing the bartender tell a few more jokes to his buddies, my entree came out. Â I asked where my salad was and he said"oh shit, I forgot. Â Do you still want it. Â My salad came out after another 20 minutes. Â After eating my salad, my entree was stone cold and when the manager came over to ask why I wasn't eating it. Â I told him the salad problem and now the entree was cold. Â He proceded to stick his finger in my rice pilaf and said oh yeah that is cold let me buy you a beer. Â He then just left. Â I still paid for my cold entree that I didn't touch and never got that comlimentary beer.
Here is the deal. Â Don't take being a busy restaurant for granted. Â I can throw a picture of Yaz and Orr on the wall with some flat screens and call it a restaurant too. Â Under staffed, under managed and really disappointing. Â Don't waste your time or money on this (i am sure will fail soon) establishment.
I go to The Fours in quincy a lot. Yesterday was the first time I went to the one in Norwell. Well the good part is that it's big (it was formally TGI Fridays) and they have lots of out door seating and a nice smoking area where you can bring your drinks.
The food and prices are the same, (prices are a little high for pub food) but the atmosphere is totally different. There was a good crowd for a Thursday night but everyone was really old and really rich. The young people that were there were dressed up like they were ready for the club. It was stupid. I didn't like it.
First of all, my only real gripe with the Fours is the dinner prices. The menu doesn't change from lunch to dinner, but the prices all go up.
That said, if you do go for dinner, there is a nice atmosphere. Sure, there are lots of bros and yuppies, but that's to be expected in Norwell. It's a little noisy but not unpleasantly so, and the overall effect is a warm and welcoming one. I think it's enough to justify the price increase.
The food isn't anything special, but it's good for what it is. The burgers are your best bet for price vs. quality--$10 at dinner for a huge burger, decent amount of fries, and baked beans.
And of course, you'll get a better value at lunch, and it won't be as noisy.
We tried The Fours on a recent Saturday evening. We have always enjoyed The Fours Quincy location and it's great to have the Norwell location up and running. Anyway, it has been a terrible summer for outdoor dining because the weather has not cooperated until recently. So, we decided to try The Fours for dining outside on this one particularly nice weather evening. It was late in the afternoon / early evening and we half expected a long wait for a table. The parking lot is HUGE and there were a number of cars. At first glance we did notice a collection of people waiting outside for tables and we figured our timing was not right. We stepped inside this cavernous restaurant that can accommodate huge numbers of people. We then asked for the wait time on an outside table and we were told we could get a table right away. It was a great surprise. Apparently, the groups waiting outside were waiting for an inside table. So, first impressions were deceiving.
The food was terrific and the prices were reasonable. We had the calamari appetizer and it was nicely prepared with some chunks of hot peppers mixed into the platter. We opted for a chopped salad and sandwiches... a couple of glasses of chilled white wine and cold beers... it was a good take for the price. I thoroughly enjoyed the ice cold Sam Adams drafts while sitting outside... a nice way to close out a busy Saturday. The service was excellent as well.
I am knocking off a star for the minor irritation of the smoking area. It seems there is a waiting area outside for those waiting for tables. This area is a nice spot but it's at the end of the outside dining area. The smoke manages to waft into the dining area and it can be somewhat annoying. It's too bad they couldn't put up some type of barrier to keep the level of smoke to a minimum.
But, overall it was a great evening out and I look forward to dining there more often...
I didn't bother getting any food here, this is just a review of the bar. Â First of all, the bar is HUGE. Â They had two or three guys working the bar and one of them stood out, the other guys were just ok. Â There were plenty of TVs to watch the ballgames on. Â So why only two stars? Â I'll tell you why! Â How do you charge $4.60 for a Bud Light Draft in Norwell? Â My buddy and I drank nothing but Bud, and Bud Light and our bill was about $57 bucks. Â I wouldn't even want to see how much a mix drink goes for. Â The other bad thing about this bar is it's full of annoying yuppies, with their undone ties, and rolled up sleeves trying to out bs the guy sitting next to them about the big deal they're working on. Â I'll stick with my dark hole in the walls where I can get a $3 draft and a .99 cent pizza.
Review Source:I am so excited that the Fours decided to open up a location in Norwell where the old Friday's used to be. It opened up about a week ago. I was a little nervous to try it as it just opened, but I was very pleasantly surprised.
First off, the place was packed and we did have to wait about 20 minutes for a seat...not bad at all considering it was father's day. There are tons of T.V.'s, it would be impossible to have a seat with a bad view. A lot of variety on the menu. I got the terriaki steak tips,...and I kid you not, the best I have ever had. My husband got the buffalo chicken sandwich, he said it was very good...he also agreed about the tips.
Definately stop in, you won't be disappointed!
