Seated right away. Waitress was friendly. She wasn't all in my face which I hate yet she was there when I needed her. The girlfriend had a salad which she claimed was amazing! Very large. I didn't really like the menu as none of the sandwiches really appealed to me. I asked the waitress n she said to go for the burgers. Had the cowboy Burger n it was very tasty. Couldn't finish it. Nice size burger!
Review Source:We have eaten here twice since moving to the area. Â First time was pretty good. Â Food was good. Â It was very busy so service was slow, but waitress was courteous and apologetic. Â Desserts from The Blue Owl in Kimmswick are worth the ok rest of the meal. Â Tonight, visited again. Â It was busy again. Â Service was slow. Â Waiter was practically non-existent. Â How long does it take to throw 2 salads together? Â Anyway, halfway through the meal, a person near us started to choke. Â At first I thought the person was drunk and couldn't make it to the bathroom but a companion started doing the Heimlich. Â Here they are, right next to our table, with one thrusting and the other one puking and coughing. Â An appetite buzz kill for sure. Â I know it couldn't be helped. Â BUT, I don't know what was worse........the choker or the fact that no restaurant staff came immediately to clean it up. Â Finally, one of them threw a bar rag over it and it stayed there for a few minutes, a bar back picked it up and dumped it and that was that. Â No mopping, no kitty litter, no nothing. Â Don't think we'll return. Â I guess it's popular with the locals who live around, and that's fine.
I have heard the wings are very good.......if we can't live without them, maybe we'll get carry out.
Went to Frankie's last night to watch a bit of the game. Â We sat on the heated patio (does allow smoking) to avoid waiting. The service was fine, but a bit slow. The menu seemed vast. Â I loved the wings, but it's really not hard to please me with wings; I'm a bit in love with all types of those fire-y fellows. Â
I had a chicken sandwich as my meal. It was fine, nothing stood out to me, but it was a solid chicken sandwich. I did not love the honey mustard, next time I will ask for a different sauce. It was too thick and to honey-y for me, but some people might like that. Â
The beer was cold and pretty reasonably priced. $16 for 6 beers seems legitimate to me for there being no specials. I've heard they have $10 nights which sounds good to me. I'll probably return, but if I'm going for food, I'd probably hit up Joey B's in the concord plaza.
Dr. Seuss would loves this DUMP!!!!! Â
Chef salad with Green Eggs and Ham..... Â Also came with ROTTEN tomatoes.on the side. Â Waitress brought the bill when she served the food and then never came back. I also advised the hostess to get a manager and I suspect they never had one. Â So I gave the Hostess the green eggs & Rotten tomatoes and told her to give them to the manager so he can eat them, but I suspect that she dumped them on another customers salad. And yes, Sadly enough, My son payed for this meal......
HEY FRANKIE!!!
Now I know why your business SUCKS !!!
Frankie G's did a great job of handling a big group of us the other night. I had never been before and didn't know what to expect, so was pleasantly surprised with good food, a fun atmosphere, and a great beer list.
Let's talk about the food first -- the chicken wings here are very good, not too greasy and spiced just right. I couldn't decide whether I liked the drummettes or the wings better, so figured they were both tied for first place. I tried one of their house burgers, which was cooked well and served marvelously sloppy, exactly right for late-night fare. A friend got a sausage sandwich of theirs which also received high marks. Prices were reasonable, too, with everything well under $10.00.
The atmosphere is nice, too, with an electronic jukebox pumping fun tunes all evening. There were plenty of St. Patrick's decorations already up, and the place was hopping. It also appeared that there was a semi-outdoor area (or at least a different place to sit) up in the front, in case you wanted slightly more private seating.
Drinks were good here. The mixed ones got good reviews from my co-eaters, and I took advantage of the fact they offered my neighbor Urban Chestnut's beers on tap and downed a Winged Nut and a Zwickel. That's good beer.
Looking forward to coming back!
When in doubt on where to go, Frankie G's is a sure fire bet to make everyone in your party happy.
We stumbled upon this establishment years ago and we frequent there quite a lot. Â My husband always gets the burger and fries with provolone cheese, it fills him up instantly. Â I am a fan of anything chicken but my favorite is the Chicken Caesar Sandwich with fries. Â Yum!!
The atmosphere is great for any game that might be televised. Â This particular day they had the Cards and Rams on and it was fun cheering with the rest of the patrons.
The staff is very friendly and eager to help you with whatever you might need.
Love  Frankie G's!  We live in Oakville and go regularly. You can't beat their salads.  I recently tried the Cowgirl Chicken, in a word, WOW!  The place is packed every night so plan on a little more noise than normal. The wings are really good, I always try the butter garlic.  One of these days I really need to try the trashed wings.
Review Source:A girl works up a fierce hunger after being at the dentist's office for three hours. Starving and not wanting to go too far, we headed to one of our favorite Oakville attractions - Frankie G's Bar & Grill!
The prices aren't too bad (averages about $9/meal before tax and drink). The staff has always been friendly. Service is usually quick despite being packed every evening. Oh, and they have an awesome outdoor patio with a TV, because this is America and we can't eat our 1 lb. burgers without the TV on!
I really enjoy their salads, too. These aren't boring bits of green stuff. These are huge, green heavens ready to wisk you off your feet and into a land of spice, sweetness and tang all in one trip! Ok, that was a super corny way of explaining it, but you get what I mean.
P.S. If you happen to leave your debit card behind, they will keep it at the bar for you. WARNING: This place has delicious drinks, so you might be tempted to have one upon your return trip to pick up said lost debit card. This could spiral out of control and cause you to purchase five delicious drinks. You've been warned.
Very happy with Frankie G's new menu. Kudos to whoever made over their menu adding some great new sandwich selections. Their old menu was just ok and I had a couple of favorites I always ordered but not much variety. Now I have a hard time deciding what to order because there are several great options.
Be sure to try their onion rings. Be prepared with a partner and a knife and fork though because they are HUGE!
Decent price overall. Â We enjoy sitting on their patio and just getting some beers and appetizers sometimes.
What used to be just a convenient local place with O.K. bar food is now our first choice because of the upgraded options.
I love Frankie G's. I worked here for four years and ate the food constantly and yet 10 years later I'm still going there every time I'm in town. My usual first stop from the airport is this place. I pretty much love everything they have to eat here. There are some downsides, one being the smoke. I am a spoiled Californian now who doesn't have to deal with the nasty smoke in places I eat my food. Unfortunately you have to deal with that there as well as most other places in St. Louis. I highly recommend Frankie G's, aka "the G-spot"
Review Source:Why is Frankie G's so popular? My guess is no one in Oakville feels like driving further for good atmosphere or tasty food. Or am I eating the wrong things from their menu? It was packed before 6pm on a random Thursday, smokey as hell, and the service was slow. The buffalo chicken wrap I ordered was very amateur. Messing with buffalo chickens is a cardinal sin to me.
Review Source:The wife & I breezed in to eat since we had time to kill before a show. Â Figuring we had about 50 minutes, we would be ok. Â Ha! Â It took nearly 35 minutes till we got our food... A burger/fries plate and a fried chicken salad.
The burger plate was huge and delicious. The fried chicken salad - not so great. Â The pieces of chicken were not hot... Just about room temp to cold as if it were sitting out for awhile. Â Asked for extra ranch, and the waitress forgot to put it down. Â Then, she must of gone on break as we were sitting there waiting on our check, and a new waitress came by and 'dropped it off ' for us.
It looks like your standard American Food/Sports Bar from the outside, but the food is amazing and totally worth checking out.
Generally, the choices are heavily American, things like wings, burgers, and a random assortment of dips. Â All the food is quality, though it is not the easiest restaurant in the world to find veggie options. Â There are a ton of televisions, so you are never at a loss for the game you desire to watch, and the prices are spot on, even though they did recently raise them (but hey, who hasn't done that, recently?) Â
There is not exactly a plethora of great restaurants in the Oakville area, and this is certainly one of the best I have tried. Â Not that this is a fancy dining experience, but for your ordinary weekday fare, this place is great. Â Until they start building up the restaurant scene in these parts, if you live or hang out in this area, this is probably one of your best bets for dinner.
Also, I have heard (though not experienced) that there are televisions in the men's bathroom. Â Sorry ladies, we are going to have to use boring facilities.
I love me some Frankie G's. And from what I can tell from the packed booths every weeknight, so does everyone else. Frankie G's is your typical sports bar & grill, but they've decided to put more emphasis on the grill instead of just the bar. Not that you can't get a great cocktail at Frankie G's. I like the cherry-aid myself.
The food here is typical "bar food," but ten times better. It's like someone finally realized that just because people may stay to drink at your establishment, you may want to make some good food, too, in order to keep them coming around. I love the wings at Frankie G's mainly because it's the only place where I've ever seen wings served "trashed." They fry the wings like they do everywhere else but then they bread them and fry them again. You can order the wings at Frankie G's the regular way, but I suggest getting them trashed. I also really enjoy the chicken nachos, the chicken Panini, and the bleu cheese and buffalo chicken salad.
