Fuel

I keep trying to love this place--it has so much going for it-convenient location, locally sourced food but its just not quite right. The portions are really small, the food lacks much flavor and the muffins are tasteless and stale. I also find the staff to be pretty unfriendly--its almost as if they groan when we walk in the door (I usually go there with my three kids under three by myself). =

Horrible, absolutely horrible. we went there with a living social coupon. Got reservation for 6pm, when we arrived at 6 we were told they will only be ready at 6:30, great. once we were in, we got a special coupon menu, what the hell is this ?? I asked for a regular menu as well, a fast comparison discovered that some menu items are the same, but the prices on the 'coupon menu' are almost twice as high and seriously over-priced. I'll also mention the hair in my girlfriend's salad, and the complete absence of kids menu. Over all, it was really bad. 1 star is also too much, scam manu for people who pay with coupon and awefull food, have no idea how they are still in buisness.

The servers were clearly in the weeds as we arrived, and it took a bit to clear empty tables for our party of four. My water came in a dirty glass that smelled of cleaning solution. The staff here employs the dreaded rim-grip claw method of carrying your glass, leaving one to hope that they wash their hands thoroughly at 90 second intervals.

An unfortunate consequence of the restaurant's layout is that almost every table is adjacent to the flow of foot traffic and you always feel like someone is standing over your meal.

Something we ordered was obviously a challenge, because we watched diners who came in after we ordered enjoying their meals. The food was quite tasty when it arrived. The coffee was better than most.

I will return to Fuel to see if they iron out their service issues, and hope they succeed.
