Frank & Betsie's Restaurant

We had dinner there and it was fabulous in every way.  The service was attentive but not pushy.  The decor was low-key and cozy and the food was just wonderful.   the lamb shank was superb and so was the chicken florentine.  Even a non-chicken lover eating the leftovers agreed.   It's our new favorite place and I don't know how we got along without it.

Loved! Loved! Found this restaurant by searching Yelp and am so happy we gave it a try! The service was terrific - our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable, good-natured and was open to our questions. He let us try a couple different wines to get to the one we wanted with each course - twice we picked the ones he suggested over our own ideas. We were not rushed in any way - even when we were the last ones in the place and were pretty much done but still having a nice conversation.

The food was outstanding! At first the prices seemed a little high but when you find out they include soup or salad, veggie and potato/rice sides it becomes way more reasonable than the trend in restaurants today to give you nothing but the meat/fish on your plate and make you order sides etc. ala carte. The chicken was all Amish and the one I had, with pomegranate sauce, was awesome! The men had the steak which was made to order and well-proportioned while our other lady friend had a combo plate special of shrimp, fish and steak that was a big hit. Between the regular menu items and the specials of the day we each could have ordered a number of different things which is a nice change from going to restaurants that only offer one chicken or 2 fish choices. The desserts were terrific too. Wine selection is excellent with 3-5+ selections of most varietals all offered at very reasonable bottle prices and by the glass. Overall, a terrific experience with an excellent waitstaff and very tasty food and drinks. 5 stars!

I've been going there for years. Good food but the owners are not the friendliest. On our last vist after my 40 year old wife ordered her wine Frank came by our table and asked for ID. She didn't have it and he took the wine away. Betsie has served her for the last 11 years and has never asked. Needless to say we left and will not go back!
