I love to carry out from the House of Chan, and I think it's because even after you carry it away, the food is still super hot when you get home. And they are so fast you can order and get the food on your table in the time they are getting around to the water someplace else. I have never had anything bad from here, but I am not even sure that the food is so great. It always seems great at the time, however. On the other hand, I am pretty fussy and I have no complaints. I particularly like the lunch carry out, but it's really all good.

definitely not a place to dress up for. it's mostly take out, but my owner knows my mom, and we sometimes eat at one of their three small tables.

lunch is a bargain.. five dollars for numerous entrees, fried rice, and an egg roll.. my favorite is the garlic chicken, curry beef, and kung pao beef.

also try the chicken noodle soup. the chicken is sooo tender, just melts in your mouth. the soup broth is so good, definitely a hangover soup. also, be sure to add a little bit of the chili oil.

great little place, super friendly owner.

I don't have high expectations from carryout-only Chinese, especially when it is located close to my work. But I cannot understand the good ratings for this place. I ordered the house combination chow mein, which meant I got to taste quite a few of the basic ingredients. The dish was ruined by shrimp that were at least a couple of days past their prime. But the cooking oil also didn't taste fresh, and the beef was of a low quality. This dish also reinforced the principle that the quality of Chinese food is inversely proportional to the quantity of sliced celery and canned water chestnuts used as ingredients. About the only thing palatable in the dish was the chicken, so if you have to eat here, maybe order the lemon chicken endorsed by another reviewer.
Usually with even mediocre Chinese food, I can look forward to having a meal for the next day. But the shrimp in this dish made even that unappealing.
