This place is located at the end of a strip mall on 176. Â They are best known for their "Pizza by the Slice" and their pig-roasts. Â They have a pretty extensive menu of greasy options, but I have rarely seen anyone order any of it. Â
I used to go here for their lunch special pretty often, but there have been a couple things that scared me off, and perhaps you will agree:
First of all, this place is dominated by teenagers from the high schools (CLC and PR). Â They are loud and rude, which is no fault of the owner but should be noted for a potential customer. Â The place really turns into a cafeteria at a HS it is so loud. Â
Additionally, they do not do a good job of removing old pizza slices. Â They will sell pizza that has been sitting for quite a while. Â You really have to examine the pizza in the warmer (spinner) before you buy. Â Due to this I have stopped going here even though it is close to work. Â
The owner is also a loud and brash guy. Â He is often there, but I am not sure that is a good thing as he does not have the best business sense. Â
I DEFINITELY agree with a previous poster that they would have no business if not for the HS crowd. Â
Good prices (for the lunch slices). Â Poor quality, poor atmosphere.
First of the pizza is terrible. Â I work right next to this place and I would rather drive to Texas for pizza. Â It does not suprise me that people were upset with the pig roasts, because everyone I work with that has been there says the owner is very rude. Â It was the same with me.
If it were not for high school kids that don't know good food, this place would be out of business.
We had a graduation party at my house for my wife and decided to go with a pig roast with a "large" pig from here. We also got pans of mac & cheese, chop salad, mini corn dogs for the kinds, and the pig comes with buns and barbecue sauce.
All the other condiments, plates, napkins, etc. we had to buy on our own, which I can understand.
The party started at 4pm and we wanted to eat at 5pm. For some reason they had it down as 5:30pm and no matter how many times I asked someone that worked there in the days leading up to the party, they could not get the time straight. The day of when 5:15 rolled around I wound up calling down there and sure enough some person claiming to be a "manager" said she checked the order and they had it down for 5:30. Bah.
Anyway it was closer to 6pm by the time the van rolled up and two guys jumped out to unhook the pig trailer. It was a lot of fun having them finish cooking it in the yard and watching them cut it up. They weren't really butchers or anything. It wasn't like they were pulling off different cuts of meat for us. They just took knives and sliced off what they could, and then chopped that all into tiny bits to put on the sandwich buns.
They guys wound up losing a couple bolts or screws or something in the lawn so we all wound up doing a scavenger hunt to help them find the parts so their boss (Clayton I think?) wouldn't be pissed at them. They were pretty cool and we wound up giving them a couple beers for after they got off work and tipping them something like $20 each.
The whole cost for the "large" pig and all the goodies was something like $1,200 so be ready for a bit of sticker shock.
