I ate at Giordano's two of the 4 nights I was in town, once on Thursday night with a group of 14, and returned Saturday evening with 3 friends. The deep dish was some of the best pizza I've ever eaten and JoAnn was an amazing waitress. Be prepared to wait for a table if you come after 6PM. The pizza takes about 45 minutes to cook so if you're starving have a salad or appetizers. Also, there's no bar, so if you're alone either carry-out, enjoy delivery, or be prepared to sit at a table by yourself. They sell frozen pizzas you can buy and fly home with. Frozen pizzas are good for 8 hours. Also, if staying at the Westin, you can easily walk to this location.

The deep dish pepperoni pizza was gross.  The crust was doughy the sauce was lacking something and the cheese was off putting.  I may give this place another chance to try a non deep dish pizza but we will see.  Still not a fan of the ingredients but if you stop in I hope you like it.

Meh is the best way to describe this tiny location.  The seats are packed so tightly together that it's literally like a huge community table--which, hey!  If you're into that sort of thing...

The pizza is standard, and standard is okay when you are starving a we were.  We ordered our pizza while we waited for a seat, which was certainly a nice service, as deep dish can take awhile.  The kid who took the pizza order very clearly was too busy flirting with the girl next to him as he wasn't even listening long enough to get the name on our order correct.  But, the hostess straightened it out for us; no harm no foul.

But, I wish someone would have told us that they changed the calamari!  It is no longer just straight calamari; now, it's got some mixture of weird breaded stuff... lemons and lemon peels, green beans and red peppers thrown in the mix?  Ew.  There was little to no calamari on the plate.  When we asked the waiter what the deal was, he said they'd recently changed the menu.

Lame! Change a recipe, don't change the whole dish to spice things up!

AND, the bathrooms are horrible.  At least the ladies one was not at all appealing.

Do I really need to elaborate on how good this pizza was? I would have given it 5 stars, but the wait staff was very slow and the table next to me was very obnoxious! Dang, I have heard of guys night out, but this was ridiculous and it seemed as though other patrons felt the same as I have due to the "looks" they kept getting. Instead of asking them nicely to take it down a notch, their server just joined right in with them!!! Shame on her.  Now I can say that the Giordano's near Michigan Ave and the Mile is fantastic! This one was a bit loud for me.

We got into Chicago late on a Friday night and ordered from here since it was very close to our hotel.  We ordered a medium pepperoni and a house salad. The salad was nothing special but the pizza was out of this world. A medium for 2 people was a lot since the slices are so big and filling.

I'm a pizza lover and I've tried different types of pizza all over the United States. So far Giordano's is my favorite.  I ordered the personal-sized pepperoni pizza, which is one of the lunch specials.  The waitress kindly advised me it would be 30 minutes before the pizza was ready, since I had arrived toward the end of lunch time and they had to bake a fresh one.  Normally it is less than a 15 minute wait for these, but I was willing to hang around.  Well, it was definitely worth the wait!  The crust was buttery and flaky.  The pizza was packed full of cheese and pepperoni.  I highly recommend going here if you are in Chicago!

This is what Chicago style pizza is supposed to be like awesome pie crust, tons and tons of cheese and toppings, and great marinara sauce. I have no idea how anyone can eat more than 2 slices cause this pizza is filling! I also tried there wings here but they were pretty depressing so I would stick to there pizza only.

Giordano's is the second best Chicago style pizza... losing only to Lou Malnati's.

Came to this location a few weeks ago. Was expecting a Long wait, but we were seated right away. Ordered an appetizer that came out very quickly as well as a stuffed pizza and a thin crust. It actually didn't take very long and it was delicious. This place is a must when visiting Chicago.

Recently ordered a stuffed pepperoni pizza. Brought it home and found the pepperoni on top of the sauce and very little sauce in general on the pizza. Called to ask about a new recipe and was told "oh yeah we put the pepperoni on top unless you want it in" hey genius thanks for telling me when I ordered. Worst pizza I ever got from this location. If ordering again I will try the one on Dempster. Very disappointed.

The pizza here is the shiizzznet.

Atmosphere is really appalling.  Service was ok.

    Jeez, Rosemont, two strikes now.

Fair to middling. I've had better Chicago deep dish, but this hit the spot after a very long day.  Not a lot of meat and we got one of the meat choice pizzas on the menu.

The salad with fennel was pretty darn good.

There were 7 in our group - 2 from Chicago. They thought the variation on Italian Beef was good.

    Better then in the past.

    Deep dish is always good.

Garlic broccoli is great flavor on deep, Pepperoni is a waste on small - sausage is better.

Pepsi products (yeah!), but refills are often from a 'flat' pitcher.

I prefer Lou Malnati's, but if you are meeting someone coming in from O'Hare Airport, it is far easier for them to get to, and closer to the airport entrance - giving you an extra 25 minutes to meet (considering both directions).

Kid friendly (cuts both ways, but they have 2 sides of seating, so probably can escape).

TV volume is right at the edge during the news time.

Just in case you are not familiar with Deep Dish - it does take time to bake, not their fault, so appetizers might be worth it, but a small really did satiate the 2 men comfortably.

Tables are optimized to seat as many as they can. So it can be a little cozy moving around, but they can get real busy.

Hostess stand always seems like they are lost if they are not on a wait, but they get the job done.

Just minutes (by car) away from Allstate Arena/Chicago Wolves games and tons of the local 'airport hotels' on River RD and Manheim.

Went here a couple days ago with a friend to grab a stuffed pizza.  The waitress let us know of the estimated time for it to cook, which is always appreciated.  She was attentive as well - it's good to have a waitress/waiter who comes by you regularly to check so if you need something, you're not waiting in vain.  Delicious food, clean and upbeat place.

I ordered take out pizza while staying at a hotel near the airport. Pizza crust was a bit harder than I'm used to but the sauce and cheese was great. Mozzarella sticks were also tasty, marinara sauce was a bit on the salty side. Pricier than major pizza chains and not worth the premium.

Came to eat here for lunch while visiting my company's corporate office in Rosemont.

Looks and feels like a mom and pops pizza place.

Tried the lunch deep dish pizza and just taking a glace at the personal size, it seemed small... But after eating the whole thing... it was just enough... Sometimes my eyes is bigger than my stomach... and sometimes it's the other way around...

Pizza was think, dense, flavorful, lots of cheese (but half of the cheese wasn't melted as they either didn't bake it enough or if that's just the Chicago style...)

It's actually good in it's own way but my preference will always be NY.

A small stuffed pizza is more than enough to feed 2 people, with a couple slices leftover. I'm usually more of a thin crust girl, but who doesn't like a ton of cheese. The pizza does take about 30 minutes to cook, so the best thing to do is to get an appetizer or salad to start with...we got salad.  A small salad was enough for the 2 of us to share.

This place by O'Hare was very busy, with waits around an hour, on a random Wednesday night.  Good Chicago pizza experience.

Yeah Baby, this stuff was good!  We did not order a stuffed pizza as we are not that big a fan of cheese. Instead we ordered a BBQ Chicken Artisan pizza which rates very high on taste, the BBQ flavor was the best I have ever had.

The service was excellent from the moment we came in the door until we left.  It was the little touches that made the service go over the top.  The hostess' were all so kind even though it was very busy.  We were first timers from Michigan. My brother was acting like he was going to pass out from hunger so the hostess ordered the thin crust pizza in advance even though they don't like to do that because it might arrive before we are seated but my brother calmed down a bit knowing his food was ordered -  mercy - men can get antsy when they are hungry.  Afterward my brother asked the young girl behind the counter where they made the pizza where he might find a Target, or Wal-Mart and she cheerfully gave him directions.  Gotta love the family :)

The house Chianti was smooth, served in a nice glass with a generous portion.  Our garden salad was plentiful and fresh.  The prices were very reasonable for what you received. I can't wait to return.

Let me begin by saying I am a New York pizza snob. Since I am visiting Chicago, I was told I must try the famous, deep-dish variety. I must say this variety is not my preference, but I am glad I tried it.

We opted for a medium, stuffed with jalapenos, Canadian bacon and fresh garlic. For me, the best part was the sauce. It had lots of basil flavor, though there could have been more sauce on the pizza for me. There was tons of cheese, and it seemed to be decent quality, if mega-loads of cheese are your thing. There were a good amount of Canadian bacon and jalapenos, and the fresh garlic flavor really came through.

We had ordered delivery, and the order arrived at our hotel about an hour after we ordered, which we had been prepared for when we placed the order.  I do think the price is a bit much, at $30 for our one medium, although I was only able to eat one piece, so I guess it will be good for a number of meals/snacks!

My official first cheat meal of the season! Giordano's, you seriously have my foodie heart in your hands. :-)

I've always been a Chicago deep-dish style pizza girl so Giordano's famous stuffed pizzas was a definite spot for me to bookmark and try out since we were staying in Rosemont for the NPC Jr. Nationals Bodybuilding and Fitness show that I competed at.

The restaurant itself is a decent cozy, family-sized place. There was a small line of people when we showed up around 10:45pm. We put our name down to get seated and the cool thing about their ordering system here is that you can order your pizza ahead of time, that way by the time you sit down your pizza order will come out in knick of time (deep-dish pizzas here take 35 minutes or so to bake).

We were seated extremely fast, only waited about 10 minutes. My pizza order was a small stuffed cheese, sausage, mushroom and spinach deep dish pizza. And a small can seriously feed about 2-4 people! Especially when you're leaning out for a show, my small order could have fed about 5-6 bikini girls!

I originally wanted either the garlic bread or the fried calamari as my appetizer but there were many reasons why I opted for the caprese salad.
    1. My trainer/coach told me to stay away from sodium and carbs (yes, he's pretty strict and obviously I didn't listen too well since I wanted to eat here where it's sodium and carb central!)
    2. I didn't want to get full off the garlic bread and I wanted to taste the actual crust of the pizza when it came out.
    3. I have braces, so chewing calamari would have been difficult.
With all that said, my caprese salad was A-OK, not the best, but the mozzarella was super fresh for sure. The balsamic vinegar could have been a bit sweeter in my opinion.

    PIZZA review time! My thoughts:
    1. The crust was seriously the best crust on ANY pizza I've ever eaten. How the heck do they make their deep dish crust so airy, fluffy, right-bit-of crunch and flavorful? OMG! The crust alone is to die for.
    2. Extremely cheesy to the max! But that's what stuffed pizza is all about. I can't complain about that dairy-filled goodness.
    3. Sausage was nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly.
    4. There could have been more mushrooms and spinach added (I'm a veggie freak), but there was enough to complement everything else.
    5. I ate 2 slices at the restaurant. Ended up heating up another slice about an hour later at our hotel and then I hit BLOAT CENTRAL in my belly. My abs were no longer visible after that last slice.
    6. Unfortunately I couldn't fit the remaining slices of pizza in our fridge so I had to throw out the box the next morning, what a waste. :(
    7. I'm thinking I'll be buying some frozen ones online and having them shipped to me if I'm ever craving delicious, authentic, deep-dish pizza again.

DESSERT! Yes, I had room for it cuz there's always effing room in a foodie's belly for ANY sweets.
    1. I originally wanted cheesecake, but since we were gonna hit up Eli's Cheesecake World the next day, I opted for the cannoli.
    2. There's no option of what type of cannoli, they just brought out this cute, yummy-looking pistachio cannoli.
    3. We were afraid that I was going to have trouble biting into the shell of the cannoli, but nope...it had a light crunch to it and tasted delicious!
    4. The mascarpone filling was HEAVENLY! And dipped on the sides with crushed pistachios...OMFG, jizzylicious in my panties that night for sure!
    5. I don't think I'll ever have a better cannoli anywhere else unless we're visiting Italy in the near future.

Giordano's, I effing miss you and if I'm ever in the Chi-town area again, I'm gonna stuff this face into your stuffed pizzas and cannolis once more!

My LA pal, Randy B., has it right. This is the place for really terrific Chicago-style deep dish pizza.  Right by O'Hare airport, close to airport hotels, is Giordano's.  This place could easily be your go-to departure/arrival Chicago fix.  But hey, what do I know about Chicago pizza?  I'm from the pizza wasteland otherwise known as the City of Angels.

So how about the following non-city-centric review?  Great crust, tasty red sauce, and enough cheese to make your cardiologist have a heart attack, Giordano's pizza is a winner, like the Cubs.  Oops, scratch that.  Like those LA Kings!!!  Try spinach and sausage or your own creation.  Either way it's going to be 35 minutes of culinary anticipation that gets fulfilled with the wonderful delivery of a signature Chi-town icon.  Goodness on a plate.  Cold beer optional.

You can get nit-pick'ey and say Lou's or Gino's or somewhere else is better, but this is just solid, memorable, local fare in a casual, often busy, setting.

Giordano's is Chicago's bragging-rights restaurant version of my LA's In n Out Burger.  Unique, gotta-have-it provincial food.  Just don't try getting your pizza animal style.  Like totally knarly, dude.

An excellent choice for my last day in Chicago before heading back east! After finishing up work at Anime Central, we decided to have one last meal together and I'm happy we chose Giordano's. Walking distance from our hotels and the convention center, standard service; nothing horrible or amazing to say. Fairly attentive at least, although I did have to help myself to some new utensils when one of us needed a replacement.

The food was absolutely delicious and well worth the wait. We of course ordered a classic deep dish with some apps and one or two more entree's. If memory serves, the pizza took about 45 min to cook and if you have the time, I suggest waiting. Delicious, flaky crust, cheese that goes for miles and just the right amount of sauce. Coming from New England and being used to a big, floppy NY pizza I can fold in half and eat by hand, it was a treat to have the waitress serve our completely stuffed, cheesy slices to us from the pizza... tier... thing at the center of the table. There's definitely an art to it! Can't wait to go back!

Being from the East Coast, you can rarely find a decent stuffed crust pizza, so while out in Chicago what better place is there to try this delicacy.  I was tipped that Giordano's was the place to go and luckily there was one not a mile away from my hotel.

I decided to go for the stuffed crust supreme which had mushrooms, peppers, onions, and sausage. I was mightily impressed with the pie....beware though...it weighs a ton!  The pizza had good flavor and the crust was nice and crispy. I guess it's true what they say - Chicago pizza requires a fork and knife!

I haven't had much experience with true Chicago stuffed and deep dishes.  I've had Lou Malnati's last I was here a couple years ago, and didn't think it was very memorable...not bad, just nothing to boast about.

And here at Giordano's, I'm left feeling the same way.  It's so overwhelming, like I'm swimming in cheese.  Other deep dish pizzas I've had are typically well-balanced in sauce, cheese, and crust; they all compliment each other, not overpowering one or the other.  Two slices were enough, but I wouldn't doubt that one would've left me full on a half-empty stomach.  And I have a big appetite, enough to where I could eat a medium thin crust in one sitting.

The atmosphere is very group/family-oriented, booths, lots of seating--appropriate for their large servings.  My server was great.  I had a long day and he knew to keep the liquor coming before I even asked.  My cell phone battery had unexpectedly drained, and he was gracious enough to call a cab for me.

Being a Bay Area and only knowing deep crust pizza through Zacharys, I asked my Illinois friends for a real chicago pizza joint when I passed through this town. Everyone told me to go to Giordano's.

The wait can be a long bit for a pizza to bake, but it is worth it. The sauce is rich and delicious, the toppings generous. Bring an appetite and satisfy it in a sitting if you can even finish it.

The beer selection is a bit weak for a west coast beer snob like myself, but the waitress searched the back room and found the last Leinenkugel Honey Weiss they had that day. What a champ! Made the wait fantastic.

Came here on the first day of a business trip upon the hotel concierge's recommendation. God bless her! Girodano's is the perfect introduction to Chicago deep dish pizza. My friend and I ordered the pepperoni deep dish with garlic bread to start. The garlic bread was crunchy and perfect with the delish marinara sauce it comes with. The pizza takes a hot minute to make (around 40 minutes), but it is well worth the wait. So cheesy, crunchy and just absolutely perfect.

Next time I'm in Chicago, I'll definitely come here (and then Gino's to compare).

Wish they had places like these in Miami!

Food - Co-workers and I eat here sometimes. Just ok. I prefer Gino's East food.

Service - The bare minimum. Not rude or anything. Not friendly either. Just your normal "I'm a serving drone" service. UNO has waay better customer service.  Friendly staff, too. Bus boys are always super friendly & efficient, though. Kudos to them.

Hostess - May need some lessons on being more professional. You are the 1st person customers meet after all. Came in last night with 14 of my out-of-town relatives. They were excited to try the so called "Chicago deep dish pizza". Yes, it was my fault. I did not call for a reservation. I figured at 8PM Wednesday night, there would've been space for us. I was mistaken. The place was full. I have no gripes about that. The turn off was the hostess. I came in & politely asked if they could accomodate 14 people. She gave a sarcastic "Pfft! Um no." Wow! The professionalism!  A simple "Sorry ma'am, we're all booked tonight," would've sufficed. Total turn off.

We did not eat there. Also the last time I'll be a patron to this place.

I think Giordano's has the idea of a 'stuffed crust' pizza down but their execution leaves much to be desired.  They advertise a 'flaky, buttery crust' but my crust was floury, not buttery, although it was flaky.  Secondly I'm afraid I got a pizza that was in the 'warm' section of the oven as opposed to a freshly prepared one even though I was sitting in the dining room.  I thought the sausage was absent in taste as well.

The pricing is reasonable for the individual size-around $7.  The next large step up, however, is around $17, which I think is pretty steep for a 'small' pizza.

I sure hope Chicago can do better.

TO DIE FOR!  What do I want for my last meal?  Yep, this could very easily be my request.  "Pizza perfect" should be the name.  Deep dish pizza definitely at its finest.  HIGHLY recommended for your first time try of Chicago-style pizza, and perhaps each and every time!   I get daily emails of thanks and appreciation from several people who took me up on my recommendation.  Alright already!!!

With a crust better than a buttered biscuit, each bite melts in your mouth, or better yet and my preference, my mouth.   I also believe to experience it best, get no more than 2 or 3 toppings on it.  You want to make sure not to dillute the amazing flavor of the sauce, the cheese, and that crust...and just keep it simple.

I was stuck at an airport hotel in Chicago. Instead of going for the standard hotel burger, I opted for delivery deep dish pizza which Chicago is famous for. Now I'm a NY pizza girl all the way, but I decided to give it a new try with an open mind.
The pizza weighed at least five pounds. I ordered a small stuffed cheese and sausage. This pizza could easily feed three adults.
The ingredients were high quality. The cheese and sausage were flavorful. I just don't get the thick crust. It was flaky and buttery like a croissant, just too much of it for my tastes.
I gave three starts not because the pizza wasn't great, but because deep dish pizza just isn't my cup of tea. Or should I say slice of pizza?

Meant to leave this as a check-in tip.

It takes 35 minutes to bake the deep dish so don't come too hungry and arrive with plenty of time to wait.

4 stars for the delicious Italian sandwich (marinara on the side) and cheesecake for dessert.

I only go to this restaurant for their Chicago style pizza and the pizza is amazing. Very close to the airport so great for a first or last meal in Chicago. Pizza is heavy though (naturally), so scale back your usual pizza sizes because you will be carrying a box out.

Usual veggie options for toppings (or stuffing in this case); nothing special there.

Service is not excellent but prompt and efficient. Don't expect the friendliness of your local diner. I've been to other Giordano's restaurants which had better service and more welcoming atmosphere.

However, if you are a devotee of the Chicago style pizza, then the rest of the review is kind of irrelevant isn't it?

Plenty of reviews for this place already, so I'll just keep it brief!

Came here to meet an out of town friend as she was at the Convention Center and knew it was close and I was craving some pizza!  You can't go wrong with the pizza choices, thin or deep dish!  The place was jam packed as we were leaving obviously due to it's close proximity to the Convention Center and partially due it's reputation for great eats!

They must put crack in their pizza crust.. it's sooo good!

I normally don't like deep dish pizza, but when I had a chance to check out Giordano's I couldn't pass it up. I planned for 3 days to make time for pizza and was determined to bring it back home for the fam to try.

I ordered a large sausage and mushroom pizza and my friend ordered the same but also with pepperoni. I forget our server's name but he was nice.. although he was a little pushy with us ordering drinks even after we declined twice.

The crust is so buttery and flaky but not crumbly. It was almost like pastry dough without the sweetness. It kinda reminded me of Popeye's biscuits.. not as buttery but the texture is similar. It's very dense. I would have like a little more sausage as it seemed like there were more mushrooms. The cheese was packed on and I liked the light layer of sauce on top.

Was this the best pizza I've ever had? No... but it's just my personal preference towards deep dish that holds me back from giving it 5 stars.

After a night of refrigeration and a 4+ hour plane ride with dry ice, the pizza was still delicious. The crust was not soggy at all which I think was because the sauce was on top. Awesome!

I will be back in a couple weeks as the fam has already requested  another pizza.
