I am used to upper scale clubs from my home city so I was very surprised by the Glass Cactus. This place rivals any club! It also helped that I got in for free due to my stay at the Gaylord Texan. Theres a free (minute long) shuttle service between the hotel and the club.
I went Fri & Sat and both times the bands were great. The second night Le Freak performed & they were awesome! During the bands breaks the DJ played great music too.
The club serves food, which looked good, but I didn't have any. The bartenders were attentive, proactive, courteous. I do have to say on Sat that the girl up front was frazzled probably because the club was extremely packed.
We were here for a wedding after party and this place is awesome! Â The music was live and there was a huge stage downstairs. Â There is a VIP upstairs patio area that leads you to the outside deck. Â The upstairs inside looks over the downstairs stage and dancing area. Â The upstairs outside is a view of the Grapevine Lake! The drinks are a bit pricey but they have the good stuff as far as liquor goes. Â The cocktails are made precisely each and every time so you have consistent drinks and service. There is a cover on the weekends and the crowd is on the "older" side compared to all the other clubs that allow teeny boppers in. Â This leads to the whole facility being a more clean and enjoyable environment. Â You don't go outside and smell marijuana and hear a ton of profanity on the patio either!!
Review Source:Free valet for Lexus!
Good drinks... as in generous pours.
It's a 30-35 and up crowd, and everyone is having grown-up fun without the pretense sometimes (often?) seen at the 21+ clubs. Less "everybody look at me", more "everybody drink, dance, watch the live band, have fun".
The cover band was very good, from Austin, forgot the name (thanks tequila shots).
I would check glass cactus website to see who is playing though as some people were saying they have many 80's bands and other styles so check before you go.
Impressive DJ sets in between live band sets: you might expect older pop music but no, it's everything you want to hear and putcha hand indah air!
Outside patio hangout has tables, bar, and the view of the lake was nice, really good if you bring a date.
This is mostly for the 35 and over crowd. Â Definitely lots of cougars if that's your thing. Â I like the 80s music. Â La Freak was playing and they were awesome.
I thought the $10 cover was acceptable. Â Paid for premium valet so I could get my car faster.
There's a nice patio to chill on. Â Good view and you can catch fireworks on Friday nights. Â Had a good time and made some new friends.
Will RTE.
We have been here a few times to see some '80s cover bands. Â Normally we just buy a ticket and stand on the dance floor to watch. Â This last time though we reserved a table for 4. Â We had to promise to spend at least $200 in food and/or drinks among the four of us. Â That was pretty easy for us to do. Â By reserving a table we also got in for free which saved us $40 bucks and did not have to wait in any lines. Â Service was very fast to our table which was awesome, because I hate waiting in lines at bars. Â Would recommend that you reserve a table if you plan on going here. Â It made the already great experience 10X better.
Review Source:First ever visit 3/1/13 for a b-day party and check out a friend's band that was playing that night. Decided to valet to avoid the green mile hike from parking garage to GC (not a big deal $15 w/tip), after 8pm so there was a $20 cover (pp), 2 drinks (crown/7 the usual) $19.00, I consumed one drink my better half had 3 or 4, total spent $100.
Definitely filled with women on the prowl, drunk chick getting felt up on the dance floor- chick was doing the drunk lean back n forth side to side- she was asked to leave the floor thank goodness as she was becoming a hazard to herself and me if her hand had come close to my face once more time.
The band was good, music pre-show and in between was good (no Wobble, haha). Being the Crown/7 connoisseur that I am (ha) the drinks here were weak talking on-inventory-watch list-weak. Nice place, great acoustics, lousy drinks, service at the bar was less than mediocre.
I remember when this place first opened up. I was 25 and thought this was a great looking club...right on the lake...great patio...and designer cocktails with orchid petals in them. At the time...I felt like the crowd is too old for me. Now that I am much older and wiser (or I would like to think)...this isnt a bad place to hang out.
I took my friend who just moved from Canada on a Friday night. The Spazmatics were playing...so thats always a plus. Now being the club snob....this isnt a bad place to go and party if you are in your 30s or older. There isnt that pretentiousness you would get at the "fly" hot spot....you just come here and have fun. The drinks arent over priced for the venue. Â My Canadian friend and I had 2 Stellas and it was 12 bucks. She was surprised because the venue is so nice that the beers were that cheap. Â The Spazmatics left the stage and then the DJ came on. The DJ was pretty good....I burned those beer calories from my Stella. The only thing I wish they did here was enforce dress code. I feel some people are just a little too casual for the venue. Then again...when I go out...I dress up. While they looked good...it would be nice to see people dress up a little more here.
This place isnt a meet market....tons of couples and singles wanting to have a good time. Its far from me...but its fun to go every once in a while. I always run into people I know from Tarrant County. I ended up running into old coworkers from my airline days and had a mini reunion. I havent seen these people in over 10 years it seems :D. Def worth checking out if you are in the area.
They charge a cover after 8pm which is $10. If you park your car in the garage make sure you have the cashier validate your pass so you don't have to pay for parking. Overall it's a nice club with a variety of people which I do like. I don't like that you can only get frozen drinks outside and the last frozen drink I had was not that good. The Glass Cactus highlights a variety of cover bands and it seems as though this place has several regulars because every time we go we see them. I love the patio areas which are really nice both upstairs and down. The DJ tries to reach a variety of people with the music but there are some songs that the crowd really does not get in to. Overall I like the Glass Cactus because it is a nice club. In case you are wondering what to wear the dress varies from casual jeans to short dresses.
Review Source:GC is a FUN nightclub; but it's not a COOL nightclub. Â What I mean is simply this: this isn't a club full of the finest young things to hit the scene, it's not full of sexy babe, or fly dudes, it's a club where people (mainly the 30 and up crowd) get together to have a good time. Â In other words all the fun, none of the pretentiousness.
My wife and I went on Friday and we got there before 8, so no cover (huzzah!). Â We also caught the last part of happy hour (until 9pm). Â Double huzzah! Â Happy hour was decent. Â All draft beer and house wines $4 (excellent). Â 4-5 different cocktails also $4, but these are more fruity drinks and not my scene (my wife had a couple).
We sat outside on the outdoor patio with an amazing view of Grapevine Lake. Â GC also sells cigars which I was THIIIIS close to buying. Â Just a chill place to end your work week.
Our waitress was spectacular: personable, friendly, and conversational. Â She gave us the right amount of attention. Â My sense was the waitstaff was all like this. Â Easy going, friendly, service-oriented.
This is not a meat market. Â It doesn't seem like a great place to pick up chicks (or dudes), which we both liked (obviously). Â The live band was good, the dancing was fun, and it was a great time without a hefty price tag. Â No question we'll be back.
The best! The ambiance is awesome, the people are nice and classy. The live music is always outstanding and fun. This place was voted #14 in USA today of best clubs for live music in the country. I can't say enough of their fun: Sushi was great and drinks are really nice. Plus you have a beautiful view of the lake. This is my favorite place of all nightclubs.

This venue is kinda like House of Blues. Â The GC is worth checking out. Â It's $10 to get in. Â Reservations and bottle service isn't worth it here. Â You're better off paying those prices in Vegas or Shreveport.
We arrived at 7:30 and paid for a reserved table ($200.00 min). Â The menu is limited but tasted pretty good. Â We had the lobster quesadillas and the pepperoni flat bread pizza. Â I will say the drinks are extremely watered down and no more than a 1 ounce shot if that even when ordering brand name. Â We ordered a side shot as ordering a double still tasted very watered down. Â Le Freak was playing. Â The band was fun, but not skilled. Â Nice atmosphere and mostly middle age and up, but young people (very young) were there as well. Â Will probably go back, but the drinks really stink.
Review Source:Fireworks on Fridays in the summer. Â Music is okay. Â People here are in from out of town. Â Patio is nice...the smoking is out of control...like the prices for the drinks and the need for 15 people at the door before you can go in is silly. Â It is not NYC...it is Grapvevine...get ahold of yourselves. Â You can take a free shuttle from the hotel to the Cactus...nice touch...unless you get on after someone wears a wet swim suit and sits on the seat.
Review Source:Went to Glass Cactus strictly to watch the sunset and then enjoy the Friday Night weekly fireworks show Grapevine offers all summer. Â Was quite beautiful and the fireworks weren't so bad either! Â We didn't stay for the band nor the crowd. Â I do sooo love the Glass Cactus' deck overlooking Lake Grapevine. Â It'd be cool if they offered lunch during the day here or at least open so folks could go enjoy the view.
Review Source:My husband and I went on Saturday night. Â We got there early so we could sit out on the patio, which overlooks Lake Grapevine, and enjoy drinks and eats. Â We got there about 6:30pm and was able to be seated outside right away. Â The weather was perfect so sitting outside in the sun was wonderful. Â Their menu is limited but it is upscale bar food. Â We had the tenderloin skewers, which was very tasty, and the onion rings, "the best I ever had" stated my husband. Â
Le Freak was playing that night so the dance floor/bars/getting from one side to the other is crowded and challenging. Â But we've been there before and we knew going in that it gets crowded. Â
I really like going to the Glass Cactus to see/hear bands.
Friends of mine recommended this place for dancing/ live music, so of course I wanted to give it a try! It's a little out of the way for me, but I would say the overall trip was worth it. Â
This place was filled with the sound of the live band playing and lots of colored lights when we walked in. Â The bars were a little crowded, but it wasn't hard to get drinks (a little pricey, but hey... this is a pretty shwanky place). Â There's a really nice outdoor deck area with a bar too, but last night was a teensy bit too cold to fully take advantage of that.
The dance floor was spacious and decently lit so you could see the live band and keep an eye out for any crazy cats who were going to twirl into you (oh wait, that was me, in this case - sorry guys!). I really liked the live band (The Klocks) - they played a great variety of music and did a great job with some current pop hits. Â When the band was taking breaks/ after the band was done performing, popular dance tracks were played - and the shadow dancers made their debut at this time - oww oww! I must say, Â the crowd was a little older than I expected but it was also a night devoted to celebrating Harley Davidson's birthday/ anniversary - and honestly, everyone was having a great time so it don't matta. Â
All in all - this place is great to go with friends if you want to go to a more mature/ classy place to dance and get away from Dallas' dance scene. Just remember, they have a dress code for this place so it may not be the best place to go on a whim. I'd definitely give this place another go around in the future!
This is a fun spot. Live music, big dance floor, energetic crowd, good drinks, lots of seating - both indoor and out, and multiple bars.
The crowd here is very mixed, but definitely older than the 21-30 year old crowd you would typically expect to find at a dance club. Â A lot of out of town people staying at the Gaylord for conventions go out here, so you can always meet new and interesting people.
The outdoor patio is quite the place. It is huge and full of tables, couches, fans and misters, and it has two bars. The view is incredible (for Grapevine). The patio is right above the lake and is a great place to sit and chat.
If you get hungry from dancing your heart out, order some food! The Kobe beef sliders are incredible. Is it strange that my new favorite burger is at a dance club? No? Ok good because these juicy babies have been taking up a lot of time in my thoughts lately. The lobster quesadillas are also amazing. The quesadillas have gouda cheese which is a brilliant combination with the lobster sure to please your taste buds.
Cover is $10 after 8pm, and they accept CC's to pay cover. They also have valet and validate parking. Don't forget to ask for a validated parking ticket up at the front where you pay cover!
Definitely a great atmosphere . Â Hanging out at the patio on a cool night is always something cool to do with your friends and even a romantic dinner with your other half . Â Of course, the patio isn't someplace I would consider hanging out during the summer in the Texas heat ! Â Seeing the sunset over Lake Grapevine is pretty cool . Â And I was told that they usually have fireworks there on Friday nights, but I haven't seen it yet .
The appetizers are pretty good . Â I love their kobe sliders . Â That's what I usually get when I am there .
The crowd is definitely different . Â A lot older crowd . Â I'm currently 37, and when I'm there, I feel like a young pup again :)
They have decent cover bands for the most part . Â I do love it when the Spazmatics come to town . Â They're an awesome 80s cover band .
Love the Glass Cactus! Â It's a great atmosphere and my lovely cousin's group "Cuvee" plays there sometimes as well. Â If you've never experienced their soulful sounds, you're in for a treat! Â Here's the link to their event calendar. Â Enjoy!

Pretty cool place on a GREAT location on Lake Grapevine. Â Its a very big place with a wrap around porch (two stories of porch). Â They usually have a band playing and a pretty good DJ during their breaks. Â The unfortunate thing is they almost always have a cover and their drinks are VERY expensive! Â $5 for a beer....come on, that beer cost them about .75 cents! Â And dont even get me started on their mixed drinks! Â
If you are out cougar chasing, this is a pretty good place to go...
This place is alright of you are over 30 and want a club (i guess) to go too.
I went here and was really surprised by how many  '''older'''  people were there. Maybe i just went on a bad night.. but i didn't see anyone there under 28. I guess what do you expect with a hotel-club.
The music was kind of old too. They played Yeah by Usher. And old Black Eyed Peas, so..
but the patio area was really pretty and over looked the lake.
Woo! Â Bachelorette Party! Â We grabbed the free shuttle from the Gaylord Texan Hotel and headed over to the Glass Cactus for some drinks and dancing. Â Getting in was easy, I am not sure if there was a cover but we all just flashed our ID and made our way through the doors. Â Upon entering I was so happy that it is a smoke free environment, no burns, hacks or smelly hair!
I found my way to the bar and happily bought an obligatory round for my sister-in-law, sister and three other gals from the party. Â I was expecting a $50 or so tab and was just fine with the $32 or something total.
There was a DJ mixing up some fun songs for just another 10 minutes of so before a band took the stage. Â An awesome, awesome band! Â They played a good mix of 80's, 90's and just a few new hits for an hour. Â The lead singer brought my SIL on stage, well, after I p-u-s-h-e-d her.
Afterwards, the DJ took back over and hormones were running high. Â Notable moment...guy comes behind me dancing (close!) and my SIL reaches over, shoves his should and screams "She's married...to my brother!". Â Yeah, she did not remember that until she was reminded the next morning.
Glass Cactus was a good time! Â Drinks are not completely over priced, the music was fun, the shuttle from door to door was appreciated and there are plenty of horny people willing to hook up - if that's your thing.
Love this place! Usually go here to see  band play on a Fri or Sat nite. Journey cover band was good & Spazmatics are an amazing 80s cover band, gotta see 'em!! Valet is $10 & cover has always been $10 when I went, go before 8pm & it's free. Oh & there are always random empty seats u can snag here & there. VERY large patio area as well, overlooking grapevine lake. Fireworks go off Fri nites around 9pm I think. But be sure to go early cause sometimes valet gets full closer to 10:30ish & the parking garage is quite a trek in your stilettos...if you do the parking garage tho be sure to have it validated inside:-)
Drinks are not too bad...$5 for rum & coke. Most people here are older (35+ or at least they look it lol) & majority are couples. Lots of bachelorette parties too. Got 4 stars instead of 5 cause of all the Affliction tee wearing $30,000 millionaires that i'm soo tired of & tons of skanky hoes, mainly of the cougar variety. Can't go into the bathroom without tons of drama unfolding all around you UGH, & also there can be some catty hoes on the dance floor BUT I am good at ignoring that ish & I go here for the music & to hang out with my friends, NOT to meet people & interact with said hoes/DB's. Soo if ur MO is similar to mine, u will have a fab time:-)
I'm teetering between a 4 and a 5 this time around. I had a little bit better of an experience and was able to try the food this time, which upped the rating in my book.
A colleague and I drove out here last night for a networking mixer. I forgot how HUGE the inside is... you could easily fit 1000 people just in the main area it seems like.
The drinks were mixed well, the staff and managers were on point with everything and the entire place seemed upbeat. At one point, I stood at the bar for no more than 90 seconds before a manager asked me what I wanted to drink, got it from the bar, then said it was on the house for the wait. Whoa.
I tried the chicken spring rolls with peanut sauce. They were alright but better than expected. The chicken sliders that Damany ordered looked amazing, as well as the onion ring towers and spinach dips that came out of the kitchen.
Despite the booty dancing club music that started at 7pm, the place was empty except for our group. Maybe they get crackin' a little later in the night?
PS- LOVE the electric blue bob wigs that the bartenders wear. I want one.
As I have said, I left my clubbing days far behind me, but at the insistance of some friends I accompanied them to Glass Cactus. Â It is much like any other large club if you are looking for that sort of thing. Â I will say that the band that was playing (I don't recall the name) was pretty good. Â They were dressed up like nerds and were playing 80s music, and they were doing a pretty good job of it, too. Â
Since most of my friends smoke we spent a good amount of time on the patio, since they don't allow smoking inside. Â Fine with me. Â The patio is huge and circles the entire club, on two levels, with a great view of Grapevine Lake. Â I'm sure it would be a good spot to see the fireworks on the 4th.
Okay, so we went on a weekend night, but even at that the service was shoddy. Â At a table on the patio we saw the server for the table next to ours almost twice as much as we saw ours. Â A bit like Chill, in that. Â Also, all of the drinks, including the bottle beer, is really pricey. Â Too pricey. Â I didn't try the mixed drinks, but heard they were okay.
I went to The Glass Cactus the other night for my sisters birthday. The actual bar and patio are beautiful. The people inside...not so pretty.
GC is like a cougar/silverfox drunk makeout fest. We paid for a table and the table in front of us was mugging down hardcore. Like lifting up the shirt and everything.
The music here was piss poor. They were playing this sad bastard music that you couldn't even dance to. I asked the DJ if he could kick it up a notch. He said on this particular night he could only play 80s and Rihanna. Uh, 80s and Rihanna? ok. So later that night the DJ did play some rap from the 90s. If there was a "bad word" he sensored it. It was kind of ridiculous.
This place is expensive. Â 50 bucks a person for our table and 10 bucks to valet. Service is okay.
I am not a fan of the GC. The music is a real dealbreaker for me. The makeout table in front of us was the icing on the cake. They should remove the G and L from the name.
Cool place to go hang out and get your groove on.
Nice night club, not too big not too small. They have three sections, indoors, outdoors and a private section upstairs with a gorgeous view of Grapevine Lake.
The club is located right by the lake. They have a big stage with a live band playing most nights and a DJ who keeps the music flowing while the band takes a break. Â They broadcast live music from the stage to flat screen TV's on every corner of the club including the outdoor deck. You can hear the music and see the band playing on the flat screens or through the glass walls separating the inside and outside sections and still feel involved with all the fun inside. The only difference is the temperature outside and when it's cold they sure could use more heat lamps on those decks.
One thing I like about this night club is that they do serve food, about 6-7 appetizers and entrées to choose from. Don't expect anything from it and you won't be disappointed. My "shrimp tempura" was served with Thai garlic chili sauce that you could get from any Asian grocery store, go figure. We are here for drinks and happy feet right? So, I'm not going to complain about the food.
Â
If you happen to be in this area or at the Gaylord Texan stop by and check them out. Groovy!
They open at 5:00 pm, if you get in the club before 8:00 pm you don't have to pay the cover charge. So get there early, enjoy the view of Grapevine Lake and take care of your empty stomach while you're waiting for your party. Have fun.
This review is for the Sunday Brunch not the night club.
Conveniently located close to DFW airport, the Sunday after my Sis's wedding we met here to see her off to her Honeymoon in Maldives.
Glass Cactus is just beautiful with a 2 story deck overlooking Lake Grapevine that we could not enjoy thanks to the rain - still beautiful views.
The Sunday Brunch buffet is all you can eat 25.00 for adults, 17.50 kids 6-12 and free under 6.
I love peel and eat shrimp and fish tacos and filled up on those while sampling the "made to order" omelet station, fresh fruit and fresh carved ham.
I would definitely go back for the Brunch here!
Went on a no-cover night with an 80's cover band playing...
Mixed crowd from 20 somethings to 50 somethings
Everybody happy
Not too many people so not all the bars open...lots of move around room...will be back to hangout on the outside patio/bar area in the summer...only bitch is out-of-the-way location and pay-to-park
Tip: if you eat at one of the Gaylord restaurants you can park valet and get your parking stub validated
All I have to say is CHEESE FACTORY! The stage honestly reminds me of my high school auditorium. I do have to give them some credit for the outdoor patio that looks onto the lake...that is nice except for the Mosquitoes. The price of the cover and the price of the drinks leaves alot to be desired. Single ladies out there...this is NOT the place to find anyone with potential!
Review Source:I was very impressed with this venue. It sits between the beautiful Gaylord Texan Hotel and Lake Grapevine. Actually, the back pato sits right on the lake which makes it a great place to hang when the weather is right. We go lucky and had springlike weather in December and were able to gather on this porch, drink, listen to tunes and watch the planes ready for landing at nearby DFW.
The inside had an enormous dance floor. Which was just starting to fill when the night's band went on. Personally, I didn't think the band was a good fit for this venue but their calendar shows they book cover bands like LeFreak , which probably get the joint groovin.
Drinks were expensive but I guess that is not surprise since Glass Cactus angles for the upsacle name tag. The service was better than expected. Not a hint of attitude. Also, the shuttle driver from the Gaylord was VERY accommodating. I would definitely consider going back for the right kind of music.
Heard great stuff about this place. When I went, the facility was awesome! The staff was great. They are really strict about drinks on the dance floor..they have guys watching, waiting for that. The DJ on the night I went was awful, I could have done the simple crossfades he was pulling, and he played a few songs over.
More adult/mature crowd.
