Not bad if your a local looking for a place to chill and have a few drinks.  I've gone a couple of times and the people are overall friendly.  Food is ok.  They have a backyard so that's a plus!  Smoke away!  Lol.

We used to come here all the time. After all these years, I still wonder why we ever stepped foot in this place. The kareoke? The beer? The hot Eastern European women? Most likely the latter, but you talk about overpaying for the diviest of dive bars....

The food? Might as well just put the microwave out there for all to see.

The people? If you like the dirty looks, the fact that you need to have your guard up the entire time you're there just in case a fight breaks out....by all means, this is the place for you.

Maybe it's gotten better over the past few years. I'll never know: I'm never going there again.

I was looking for a local bar and I found it!
Super friendly bartenders with super friendly regulars.
    Made friends instantly!
Great prices on both food and drinks.
Food wasn't bad, but nothing to "wow" about.
Stays open on weeknights even when it's quiet.
Draws a good crowd on weekends, but never overcrowded.

Very neighborhoody bar if you like the neighborhood peeps.

I went here one night on a date.  It wasn't our intended destination. We wanted to stay near to my house that night and have some drinks. The intended place was closed for renovations and at the last minute, we had to come up with something else.

I come home late at night often and have always seen lots of people outside this place. it's pretty on the outside, your typical Irish pub. So I thought, OK, we'll try it.

We went in had a beer and he had some apps. (I wasn't hungry).

The service was great, the menu was pretty large, though I didn't look at it much because I had already eaten dinner.  The place seemed clean enough and it's pretty big.  Good for a group.

After our first beer we simply had to leave because the patrons were watching a game on TV and were so loud, we just couldn't hear each other.  We ended up at Spolem and I really like that place. Much more my thing.

OK, so, on a subsequent visit, I find myself warming up to the place.  This is a local establishment for local customers, and that means it's got its good quicks and its bad quirks.  While I chronicled the bad that I experienced on my first visit, I can say that on my last visit, the good of it being a neighborhood joint made it a bigger pleasure.

I dropped by there with a buddy from out of town staying with us for a night as he passed through.  It was mid-week in the summer, so the bar was quiet, with a little baseball on the tube and only a few die-hards at the bar, but there was a darts competition that had a handful of guys turn out.

My friend and I grabbed some nicely priced, ice cold Eastern European brews and chilled/caught up.  Because of the darts competition, the owners ordered pizza, and I got a free dinner.

So, yeah, there's the good side of Glenlo's local nature.  Obviously, you're not guaranteed to get the same when you're there, but, it's this vibe that works.

This is my "local" bar - it's right down the block from my house.  It's also the closest thing that Ridgewood has to a real bar.  They serve burgers and good bar food, and they usually have some decent beers on tap.  I usually end up getting a pitcher of Blue Moon, which runs about $18.  They have a nice outdoor seating section for the warmer months, and they have a dartboard and a DJ setup.   It's a pretty big place so it's good for a group of friends.  It's a local place, but it's probably the best thing we have as far as bars go.

Ever since I've discovered Ridgewood, I've been going to this place. At first it was the main bar. Then wanderlust took over, and I've since moved on.

Honestly speaking, I would only go here for the beer. The tap isn't even that extraordinary. It has Samuel Adams, Guinness, Pilsner Urquell, and some local faves. A sports bar with the average age of the patrons being between early twenties to mid-thirties.

The kitchen closes early. When the three of us went there last night, our mozzarella stick portions were tiny. What a joke. Seriously, I could get more out of a box from the supermarket frozen food section. Maybe we were better off going to 7-Eleven. A six pack of Magic Hat would've been 12, and a box of mozzarella sticks for around three bucks. WTF.

Now when I think of it, the food here wasn't always the greatest. Maybe beer does make everything tastes good, dunno. Last night's appetizer was a disappointment.

The service was never bad, don't get me wrong. Although I've had warmer reception in other local bars. It's definitely more fun in places like Cozy Corner and Gottschier. Now if only Cozy Corner could fill up their tap more, then I would be a regular customer. Truth be told, we went here last night because it was cold. Glenlo was walking distance to where my friend had parked his car. If the weather had been warmer, we could've hiked somewhere else. Probably to either Cozy Corner, or better yet Gottschier.

Still, it's nicer during spring and summer, when they open the backyard. So it's not a total bust.

Average bar/grill setup that usually doesn't get too full. There's a decent patio in the back and a few TVs with sports or news depending on what time it is.
A good deal if you stay for more than 4 drinks just watch out for the "wasted and yelling by 9pm" locals.
Also, eat before you go or just order from King Wah, across the street as they don't currently serve food as they are renovating their kitchen

A comfy bar with pretty good food (buffalo wings are messy but delicious) and usually a friendly crowd.  The space is quite large for a pub and has booths as well has tables with stools.  They have a patio in the back and a jukebox inside.  There is usually a DJ on the weekend.  I've been coming for years and always have a good time.

I was a little disappointed to find out there were no happy hour specials when I came in today (Sunday). The drinks were a little weak and I was even more disappointed when the bartender forgot to give me my change for the greasy fries. That's ok, I'll consider that her tip. I Won't be coming back.

Solid pub. Decent selection of American and European beers on tap (Pilsner Urquell is my usual), back garden (now with American eagle mural!), average bar food, soccer and other sports on the TV or big screen, internet jukebox, dart tournaments, and apparently karaoke. The "sleekest" pub in Ridgewood, I think.

Good food for not alot of money. Always have the bruger medium well and it never dissapoints. Only compaints are service can be more than a bit sparse and the Karaoke on Fri/Sat nights is annoying. Other than that  like ambiance and the price is right.

hey, this is a pretty cool pub. drinks are really cheap and the food portions are enormous. i had a huge combo plate of onion rings, fries, mozzarella sticks, jalapeno poppers, onion rings, chicken fingers, the works for $15. My bf and i were both starving and still couldn't finish the plate. we each also had 3 rounds of drinks each. he had beer, i had gin and tonics. the whole bill came to $45 bucks! not bad at all.

there's also a little yard in the back that's nice to relax at or smoke, if u wish and the weather is nice. you can have your food and drinks there too. there's music inside and there were a few ppl dancing. also, there are tv's for sports watchers.

    chill ambience. very mixed crowd.

Not a bad bar, it used to be on my list of favor five with its rock karaoke on Thursdays and Guinness you wish was you last drink before you die. The polish clientele there with some "fresh of the boat" folks as someone interestingly noticed i think made it all better as they brought some of that European bar feel with them. The garden in the back is great for summer time. I've probably had pretty much everything they have on the menu but it's just simple beer food and nothing to talk about. I still go there from time to time but the rock karaoke changed into rap & hip hop karaoke and polish folks have found other pubs. And just as someone else noticed people start gathering around 11:30PM

Kind of a regular stomping ground - the owners are the bartenders (well two out of the regular 5) and after your second time there will prob remember you - and have affordable drinks.

If you go early enough for food-  the menus are typical bar munchies and meals.    Friday is kareoke and you can find the house DJ on Friday and Saturday nights.

If you show up before 10 on a weekend it will be empty and prob only with a few local older guys - but dont worry - it picks up around 11:30 or so.

Its local and a good place for us all to meet up on a regular basis.

On any given night, the clientele at this roomy bar consists mainly of middle-aged and retired Queensfolk and 20-30something Eastern Europeans right off the boat. A unique mixture of patrons indeed, but if you're looking for some fun, and you happen to be stranded in Ridgewood, make it over here on a Thursday night for the karaoke party. After about 2 hours of karaoke, a DJ spins some music (nothing special, mostly dance-y and hip hop stuff, which is always blast once you're drunk.) It's usually filled to the brim with a younger crowd on Thursdays and Sat's, there's good beer on tap, lots of places to sit, and damn good food from the kitchen. Also a backyard "garden" to chill in when the weather's nice.
