Upon pulling up to Gordo's I realized hat this was a place I used to go to 30 yrs ago for burgers or wings. Upon entering it all came back to me because nothing had changed in 30 years. It's old, dingy, and dirty with the same tables and chairs, wall paneling and carpet. We started with wings which were oily, tasteless, no flavor. Had to wipe the oil off with a napkin. I had a medicre at best cheeseburger. I felt sick after the meal. I was one step up on my girlfriend though who had the penne Alfredo w chicken. Hers was tasteless and she actually got sick in the bathroom after eating abou 1/4 of the dish. We've been checking out restaurants once a month using http://restaurant.com certificates. After a couple of great hits, this was the first bad miss!! When you are in the neighborhood driving by.... Make sure NOT TO STOP!!!!
Review Source:Great food and great service, you cannot go wrong with Gordo's. As local as it gets, but it's still a great spot to catch a game with friends or have a good sit-down dinner with family. Only minus is the crowded weekend band nights, but the staff is great and I highly recommend Gordo's to you.
Review Source:It's simple, not LeBernadin. You go for burgers, fries, wings and pints of beer. If this is your desire, look no further than Gordo's.
I had driven by for years & met a friend who got off the train. Lo & behold, the wings were meaty & spicy but not overwhelming. The burger was cooked perfectly, bacon was crisp, lettuce & tomato fresh. Good Guinness, too!
The bartender (Kevin) was quick-witted, personal & had enough charisma to win us over if the food didn't. Luckily for both of us, he didn't have to. We'll be back.
Gordo's is a local bar/grill, with a large selection of meat and seafood dishes, as well as salads, pastas, etc. Â Went here for dinner with a group. Â The waitress we had was pretty helpful and prompt. Â Ordered the linguine with mussels...found it to be decent, but a bit too oily for my liking. Â Many of the mussels were closed, a sign that the seafood wasn't the freshest. Â Prices were reasonable. Â The menu offered a big selection...I think I just ordered a dish that wasn't necessarily their specialty. Â This place had a neighborhood-y feel to it....you could tell that there were a lot of locals in the joint.
