I was a little worried about this place after the reviews but watching it on Diner's Drive In's I knew we wanted to try it!

I loved this place!   I was worried about a wait but we were seating immediately, the service was also fast and friendly.  I liked how they give you samples of homemade danish with your breakfast and this was delicious.  This was important since we were not going to order anything additional (which you should because it is a bakery to) and it allowed us to see more of what they offered.

I had the Sausage  patties with eggs, home fries and biscuits, and found all attributes to the breakfast was different then where I had elsewhere and delicious. My wife had biscuits and gravy and enjoyed it is all.

The cakes and other bakery items looked top of the line was well, the full menu accompanies buy the bakery makes it a must go!

This restaurant is VERY clean and worth the try!!

Breakfast was quite tasty thanks to the following: fluffy eggs, indulgent little pastries,  skillfully cooked savory meats, and fresh fruits and veggies.  In other words, delicious. The place was slammed at noon, but we were seated and tended too right away.  The food was delivered quickly and as ordered in big but not absurdly huge portions.  Thanks to all that plus reasonable prices and capable waitstaff I will Definitely be returning to Grampa's. On a final note, be sure to get the fresh squeezed orange juice!

I stopped in there last night for a dinner for one and I just didn't feel like eating take out in my hotel room, a meal at the counter sounded good.

The busboy and the waitress were very nice and attentive. It was 30 minutes before closing and it really seemed like everyone was itching to leave.

I got an order of lasagna that could have fed a small family. No kidding. Garlic bread with it seemed superfluous given the fact I got dinner rolls and pecan sticky buns along with my salad. Lasagna itself was just okay. A little dry, a little bland, buy very cheesy.

I heard an interview in the radio today. A well known actor had done a play on Broadway that had gotten a great response from crowds during previews - people were laughing at all the right spots and went wild at the end. Then the NY Times reviewed the play and ripped it apart. The same night that reviewed was printed and until the play closed, people didn't laugh and the closing applause was reserved.

Why that story? Because I feel Grampa's is the opposite of that. The fading clips from the papers, the pics of celebrities past and the omnipresent Guy Fieri (signs, the shirts the busboys were, a huge poster, the website, etc) all tell us this place is awesome.

    It's not.

It's just okay. If it were in Jersey it'd be unremarkable.
