I just discovered this little bagel shop this week, and I've already been back twice! I would be in major trouble if the shop was in walking distance, because I wouldn't be able to stay away. Excellent breakfast-bagel sandwiches (good bacon!) and decent coffee, all south of $4! You couldn't get a better price at a fast good joint.
Owner was very friendly a personable. They have a nice seating area, with a little offset for some privacy. (Nothing like enjoying a good book with a warm bagel and coffee!)
Check it out, folks.
I love this bagel shop. I moved to the neighborhood within the past 6 months and go to Grandpa Pete's to get bagels a few times a month. Everything is homemade. The bagels are huge, doughy and so tasty you could eat them as is. There are a variety of interesting bagel & cream cheese flavors. I'm a fan of the spinach everything bagel - much less doughy and more flavorful than their other everything bagels. The scallion and jalapeño cream cheeses are super fresh and they load it on. The service is quick & friendly and the prices are super cheap.
Review Source:Grandpa Pete's bagels took over the Bagel Place early on in 2011. I have been to this place 3 times and it's safe to say I am not a fan of their bagels. The bagels are heavy, greasy and very doughy. Although the prices are very reasonable, it still does not make up for the quality of the bagels.
Review Source:Just your typical bagel place. Â Situated in the upscale/touristy area of Mt.Pocono. Â There's a very small eat-in area but most people get takeout. Nice variety of bagels and sandwiches. Â All the bagels are made in house and the strawberry cream cheese is pretty good too. Â Disappointed that they don't have a maple walnut or other "sweet" cream cheese. Â Good for a quick lunch if you're in the area and craving a bagel but not worth making a trip of more than a few miles for. Â I will definitely visit again.
Note: This review is for the Mt.Pocono location, not the Stroudsburg location.
