I was really craving a Gyros, and I have recently moved from Northwest Indiana here to Central Indiana. Â So, I googled restaurant's I could possibly get my lamb fixing from and came across the Gyro Stop. Â Well, what they need to do is STOP this Tom Foolery. Â I come from a place where Great Gyros are made... the Chicagoland area! Â I was appalled first off by having to pay extra for Feta Cheese to Greek it up they say, and the cucumber sauce had no taste to it at all (money wasted on extra sauce)! Â No onions, no tomatoes...the pita was even bland! Â Finally, we come to the heart of this sandwich "The Meat", which I could't hardly keep down (Yack). Â It tasted like what I would figure Opossum would to the palate. Â Long story short please save your money, especially if you are from up North or any other place that know's good cooking. Â Nicky's King Gyros would put them out of business in 2 days!
Review Source:Pretty standard gyro fare. I enjoy just the plain #1 gyro with french fry combo as a quick lunch. The gyro meat is good, the pita is fresh, and I enjoy the toppings. I am looking forward to trying the falafel after reading the good reviews about it. Its a great place to stop for a quick, tasty, and inexpensive lunch.
Review Source:First off, there isn't any better Gyro spot other than Nikki King Gyros, which is a product of North West Indiana. I just had to get that small outburst out of my system lol. However, because I'm stationed in Central Indiana, it's gloomy and rainy out, and I was beginning to feel very famished, I decided to Journey to Gyro Stop off of 86th ST on the North West side of Indiana. I wanted to try something new as well as a combination of items in order to really experience what they had to offer, so I decided to try the Trio Kabob. The Trio Kabob platter comes with a skewer of three different meats, along with a side item. My side item of choice was hummus (Winnning...).The platter included chicken, lamb and kafta. Kafta is ground meat seasoned with peppers and onions in case you didn't know. It was a very tasty meal and although I didn't dine in, the owner treated me as a guest and was very hospitable. I have to say that Gyro Stop was definitely a good experience and a restaurant that's worth exploring again.
