I'm giving this place 3 stars because for me, it is merely middle of the road (and that's with a completely open mind and a group of friends who are "regulars").
The pros:
-85% alcohol Long Island for like... $7. Â It may not be pretty, but damn if you don't only need one to do the job. Â Bartender knows what's up.
-Karaoke on Monday/Thursday nights--largest song selection I've seen yet.
-For being a dive the bathroom was pretty clean.
-$5 pitchers of PBR on Thursday nights, if that's your thing (it's not mine).
The cons:
-since this bar is basically in the middle-of-nowhere unless you live in Commerce City (or have a friend who does and wants you to come out and karaoke), don't go out of your way to get here.
-the "scene": everyone here is a "regular", pretty "down country" (if you know what I'm sayin'), and if you show up without an "in" (again, the friend who is the regular), you're probably going to feel a little Deliverance-style awkwardness.
-The Karaoke. Â Yes, large song selection, but I was there for 3 hours and sang twice, because there were so many others (regulars) in between. Â In their defense, the DJ's (husband and wife team) did follow a set rotation (didn't play favorites which is cool), and everyone who sang took it seriously and most were pretty good (no drunken "look at me I'm 'singing' Vanilla Ice because it's 'funny'" sideshow antics).
I'd never even heard of this place until I started hanging out with the coworkers who frequent the joint; it's not like I hang around the area or anything to have any reason to have heard of it. Â Still, unless they reeeeeally beg me to come karaoke up there again, I probably won't be back simply because it's not really my style, and I'm still on the hunt for a karaoke spot that offers the right balance between wait time, song selection, and low (to no) levels of drunken-attention-seeking idiots.
