What you expect to find in an old time Ocean City establishment.  Crab Cakes were delicious.  Only the bar area is air conditioned, so it's a bit hot sitting on the deck.  Kind of nice though.  Drinks were pretty good too.

Waited half an hour with no service. Got up and left.

nestled outside the touristic hustle and bustle of Ocean City and just north of Assateague Park (killer ponies and even more killer mosquitoes) is a string of small harbor-side restaurants. A group of friends and I just finished a great but rainy weekend camping out (see killer ponies) and were recomended this place by the park ranger. A large outside deck overlooks a picturesque harbor, locals look on with awe/disgust at the city folk coming to crash their joint! ID at the front by the secutiry gaurd, then ID again at the table by our waitress, this place must have had a recent run-in with Alcholog Control. The menu is your typical Fry-shack fare withsome salads (topped with fried goodness) and tropical drinks to send you adrift on a sunny afternoon. The service is very friendly, and our table of 12 was seated, and served quickly. The food was A-OK but what makes this place worth the visit is the live music (2 guys in Hawaiian shirts and guitars doing covers of 70's rock), the great views, and the utter lack of tourists (Save us of course)! If you are in the area and want to get off the beaten path, I'd suggest Harborside. Prices are a bit on the hight side, but with all that outside seating (yet an odd paucity of parking out front) it might be great for an evening drink, a song, and a sunset with friends!

My first time coming here with friends and the security checking IDs completely ruined our experience. Made us pull out 2-3 forms of IDs staring us down like teenagers trying to sneak in Tina fancy club. 1 We are in the early 30s/late 20s and as much as I would like to look 18 again none if us do. He was checking our IDs for 15min (we were 4)and when we asked what the problem was he threatened to not let us in- seriously? It's a restaurant!
However the food especially scallops as well as waitress made up for our horrible 1st impression.
The manager should really consider who greets at entrance because its bad for business. We almost left and went next door.

This will be a third time my husband and i are having dinner here since we have been on our one-week vacation everything is amazing the atmosphere the food... the drinks everything is great. The scallops are to die for, and we loved our waitress Amanda, she was personable and funny we are here again tonight because of the food but also because of how much fun we had here last night!

We were here again on 4/20/2013 and this place is STILL the best.  The orange crushes just blow them all away and they keep coming up with new ones.  If I don't visit here when in town, I throw myself on the floor and scream until I get my way or embarrass everyone in my party.  They are never sorry when they go here either.  My "bestest" favorite.

I've been coming here since the beginning.  Always a great time due to the outstanding bar tenders and servers.  Best part is the new slips that make coming via the sea a breeze.  Always a special or music happening, killer food, and never a dull moment with the locals around.

A must if you exploring West OC

We were here in off season. I could see I being a madhouse in the summer months. It seems to be a maze to get to the hostess. Once passed that though the meal was outstanding. My lovely bride had the original Orange crush and the Ruby Red (grapefruit) crush. As others stated, she preferred the grapefruit.

My friends and I went to Ocean City on an adventure and we found our selfs at this bar/grill. WOW, this place has really impressed me. This is the perfect place to go on a hot day with a group of friends. I had the Crab Club which I thought was priced a little high but then I realized that it was fresh crab with bacon, cheese, lettuce, and tomato. How could I go wrong. The fries were great and the Crab Club was amazing. I had no idea that I would be a fan of crab after this dish, but I am now. The service was great and the waitress didn't mind that my group was a little loud (mainly because of me). She also recommended a great drink, THE FAMOUS ORANGE CRUSH! Yes people it is famous and you must have at least one if you are of age. After one I had to have another and again I asked her to recommend another. Round two, THE GRAPEFRUIT/PASSIONFRUIT CRUSH! It just keeps getting better. If you ever find your self in Ocean City please make sure to check-out this place and sit outside. Your going to love the atmosphere, the drinks, and the food.

    *Drinks review only*

Orange crush was awesome, but it was terrible in comparison to the Grapefruit Crush!
Literally one of the best drinks I have EVER had.  By the way, if you really care that you are holding a pink drink... you might want to check your ego at the door.

You know it's good when I let people from my party who don't even like Grapefruit try it, and order one!  We will be back although the bar staff was a little rude to me.

We had the king crab legs they were good, hostess was a little slow in refilling our waters.
We had the famous orange crush not a fan. We asked for the orange crush to be taken off of the bill but were told that since we drank some of it the only thing they could do was add soda water (to cut the sweetness) and ice. Not happy about that, do to the lack of customer service (the manager never came over to our table after the drink issue) we will not be back. There are many other places to get king crab legs with better service. Plus Coins has better crushes.

Great food,  consistent quality each year and great portions at a very fair price.  Disappointed they removed the ahi tuna from the apps.  The chipolte tuna with crab and mango salsa had as much lump crab as many places crab cake.

Can't go wrong with the crushcicle! It's a yummy cocktail, made with orange juice and whipped cream vodka. Or something like that. It's like drinking an adult version of those yummy orange cream popsicles that we ate as kids.

However, my three stars reflects the prices and the quality/taste of the food. The prices, for very mediocre food, was equal to NYC prices. And that was very strange to me, because it's Maryland!

cThe next time I'm in OC, I'll definitely come here for the drinks. But I'll leave the food for everyone else. The apps and cocktails are the way to go.

The atmosphere is fun, a little touristy, but you can't beat eating a meal while watching a waterside sunset!

The atmosphere is great here! We tried a famous orange crush and it was made with real squeezed oranges and did not skimp on the alcohol!

We ordered the ahi tuna salad and the crab cake sandwich. The crab cake was above average and the ahi tuna was cooked perfectly. Our waitress was also very attentive and sweet.

Another great asset of harborside is its boat docking. It makes it very boater friendly. We will definitely be returning!

This place is AWESOME!  I almost want to say "ballin" but that would make me look bad.  Anywho, the crush drinks are AWESOME.  As a matter of fact, just watching them make the drinks is a show in itself, the bartenders are so fast and quick at making Crush drinks...

The food here is really good too!  I got a jerk chicken sandwich, and my girlfriend got the trigger fish taco...SOOO GOOOD!!!!  Definitely would recommend this place

We rolled into Harborside after killing zombies and conquering the air hockey tables along the boardwalk. The outside bar sprawled along the water under a thatched roof, gathering people in their 20's and their 60's around a bustling bar that churned out orange crushes at tremendous speed. After a few generous vodka pours, fresh orange juice, and a touch of Sprite were shaken into our glasses, Ocean City's most lethal drink was served with a smile. We ordered five or six of them in the next hour.

The crab imperial penetrated our crushed haze, its delicate hunks of flavorful meat topped with a silky imperial sauce accented with mustard. The broiled seafood platter was underwhelming, as the shrimp and scallops were not local or particularly fresh (not a surprise) and the fish was crumbly. But we were most disappointed that the crab used in the cakes was not the luscious meat I enjoyed in my dish, and that the cakes were bready. WTF? In our state, we just laughed and tangled forks in the imperial dish. We completely relaxed, and will return for lots of drinks and hospitality.

Awesome food!! Nachos were huge with delicious salsa, very chunky and flavorful loaded with beans and cheese. The calamari was tender and lightly breaded allowing the flavor of the hand cut squid to shine. The crab club was amazing, the soft shell perfectly fried. The trigger fish tacos ...... What can I say. Never ate trigger fish but has moved to the top of my list as a delectably light and sweet fish and the delicate corn meal breading cover nothing up. The blackened scallops topped with crab imperial was excellent. The crab was large lump with not too much sauce and combined with the blackened bite of the scallops was fabulous. The coleslaw was the only thing that could have used a little more zing. Less mayo, more vinegar and seasoning, but that might be a personal bias.
All I have to say us I have been coming to OC my whole life and I can't believe
I never are here. Thank you fellow yelp reviewers for pointing me toward a fabulous meal!!!

This place is cool spot next to the river.  Honestly, I dont have much to say..The portions were ok for the prize.  The food was blah. The only thing that was great was the cold beer.

This is definitely a locals' place.  Which is a good and a bad thing.  The noise level is over the top, but it's fun noise, so totally ok.  The parking is tough, as is the norm in OC.  When we arrived, we walked in and were created by a guy carding people, he just waved us in (we're old) but didn't direct us anywhere. We found ourselves standing at the end of the bar not sure where to go.  After couple minutes of standing around, I asked one of the extremely busy servers if we were just supposed to seat ourselves, and she steered us to a hostess stand in the middle of the restaurant. I suppose if you frequent the place you already know where it is, not so great if you don't.
The hostess took my name an said to wait "wherever". I decided "wherever" would be out front, where, as it turns out, you can't hear when they call your name. You can wait out back on the dock or on the side where there is a sitting area, it would have been nice to know.
    Ok, all done bitching.
Within seconds of being seated, our server took our drink order.  Did I mention that the servers were extremely busy? These people work their butts off, and they are all smiling while doing it.  They are obviously very choosy about the quality and friendliness of their servers, and it shows.
The menu is interesting, and quite varied.  If I had to guess the kind of food they served based on the decor, I would go with simple seafood; steamed crabs, clams, etc, but that isn't the case.  The menu is quite varied, and reflects significant skill in choice of ingredients and preparation methods.  I ordered a simple green salad with blue cheese and  scallops with crab imperial. The salad was fresh as could be, and although I'm not a fan of tomatoes, it wouldn't surprise me if they were picked that afternoon.  Generally crab imperial is an attempt to stretch crab meat with mayo, but that wasn't the case here.  It was subtly seasoned, mostly crab, and went perfectly with the scallops.  My only suggestion would be to throw a slice of garlic toast on the plate, as there is a delicious liquor that demands bread for sopping it up. My wife had mahi-mahi, and was knocked out by it.  She also had an Orange Crush, but enough has been said about them. Suffice to say they make a generous pour. I had a "Luxury Lemonade", which was quite refreshing in the 95 degree heat.
This establishment definitely goes on my list of "must go" restaurants on future OC trips.

We follow the band Opposite Direction in Ocean City. Every year we come to the Harborside to see the band and to drink the orange crushes. I have learned my lesson about drinking orange crushes at other establishments, because this truly is the home of the orange crush. It is like drinking heaven. Enough about the alcoholic drinks. We had an order of steamed shrimp to start and they were perfectly seasoned and good on the pallete. I ordered the NY strip with the grilled shrimp add on. The steak was cooked and seasoned to my liking. The grilled shrimp lacked a little flavor, but were still good. What I couldn't finish, my daughter did.

FANTASTIC local spot!  I first learned about Harborside through Yelp and my Mom recommended I go after her positive experience.

The Orange Crush is dee-lish - they freshly squeeze the oranges for each Orange Crush and add a decent amount of booze.  Harborside's featured lunch menu is available during dinner hours; I ordered a plate of fish and chips while my sweetie ordered the flounder sandwich but requested that the chef cook it with a jerk seasoning (jerk chicken is on the menu) and the chef happily obliged.  He was so happy with his customized sandwich that we returned the very next day for lunch where he ordered his same jerk flounder sammie while I got the crab club.  For all of you crab lovers out there - this is the ULTIMATE triple decker crab sammie with a full crab cake AND a fried softshell crab sandwiched between layers of bacon, cheese, and veggies.  As a crab lover, you just can't say no to that.

If you're looking for a quiet, intimate place for dinner, Harborside is far from that.  However, if you're in search of a great local joint with friendly service, lively atmosphere, and delicious seafood, Harborside Bar & Grill is the place to be during your visit to OC.  Can't wait for the next visit!

This place is great.  Very laid back and a nice place to enjoy some Orange Crushes while watching the boats come in on the commercial fishing harbor.  Staff was very friendly and the couple of appetizers we ordered with our drinks were very good.  This is a nice change of pace destination from the rush of many of the establishments on the other side of the bridge.  They also had a nice selection of beers to go with the variety of crushes they offered.  I'd recommend trying at least one crush so you can say you had one.  I'll definitely be back.

This is my number one go to place when in OC!  I always come by boat and the newly renovated docking area makes it very easy.

Orange crush, yes please! Boozy but not that you would know it until you try to leave. They do sneak up on you.

The rules on the back of the menu are hilarious.

Crab club is a must try if you cant decide between the soft shell and the crab cake. The Crab Club is both and I usually have it at least 3 times during the week!
When I am not in OC I dream about this sandwich!

We start with the crab dip which is always a delight, creamy and full of crab meat.

While this is a little off the path it is absolutely worth the effort to get here. This is a locals place that has been invaded by the tourists during the summer.

Entertainment and happy hour specials are advertised regularly.

I came with a family of four. The food was great, atmosphere lively, and service impressed.

Everyone in my family ordered different entrees and we all sampled them. Every single dish was excellent. The Snow Crab Legs were perfectly cooked. The various seafood mixes were all enjoyable, and the steaks were good.

The building looks like a simple bar, and serves a specialty Orange Crush drink. But in reality it is perfectly kid friendly, and  has seating outside that overlooks the marina. The band playing was a bonus.

The service was good, not great. There were bus boys picking up plates constantly, and the waitress was attentive.

This place is seriously hidden.  You wouldn't know about it if you didn't do some research before going on vacation, or unless you were a local, as I once was.

Harborside is a little bar with an outdoors and indoors area.  I consider it the biker bar of Ocean City.  We came here only to get drinks and then go to another place for happy hour appetizers.  Well, after 10 minutes there, we ended up getting appetizers here.  And Im glad we did!

My first orange crush was weak, not a fan.  I asked the waitress if they even put any alcohol in it because it was like drinking an orangina and she said that the problem was that there is a ton of alcohol in it, and you just cant taste it... She was right, because two Orange crushes later and a dirty banana (which I HIGHLY reccomend, omg so good) I was laughing at anything anyone said and having a ball.

Onto the food, we got clams casino, delicious and served with a vat of butter to dip them in, yum!  Seafood potato skins were so yummy, they were topped with crab, bay scallops, and shrimp and you could see it all, it's not mystery seafood here, they were whole and intact pieces of huge seafood!

It was a great time on the deck outside.  As we were leaving though, I went to the ladies room on account of I had drank everything in the entire bar and as I was leaving, the bouncer stopped me and asked for my ID.  Well Hubby had it and was waiting in the car for me.  I was reprimanded and told that if I'm going to walk through a bar, I need to carry my ID on me... Im 25 and have had 3 kids... I know it's his job but I was leaving, it's not like I had any alcohol on me or that I was ordering alcohol... I was literally holding the door open to leave as he stopped me.  So make sure you have your ID handy.

Just had dinner at Harborside, for the first time in two years... It's still as wonderful as ever.  Of course, had the Orange Crush.. With Crab and Lobster Bisque, and Chicken Chesapeake! Wonderful!!!!
The only downside was, we were told that when our check was dropped off that there was large group waiting for tables, which I found very rude. I grew up in the restaurant business, and that should NEVER be said to a customer.
The food was great and service fast!

A friend of mine who is local said that restaurants on the opposite side of the beach island were usually better.  They cater more to the locals and don't gouge you with exorbidant prices.  He recommended Harborside and I was glad to have ventured here to try it during summer 2010.

Whether or not they serve the original orange crush, I definitely enjoyed the drink.  Nothing like vodka and orange licqueur at 11am in the morning.

The crabcake and softshell crab combination sandwich was also a very welcome surprise.  Crabcake was sufficiently meaty and the softshell crab was fried perfectly.  And it was only $12.  Considering how often I'm being ripped off on the beach, Harborside was a pleasant surprise.

This was a recommendation from someone else in our dining party.  A very seafood oriented menu but they do have other options which is good for me since I find crab to have such an overpowering taste.  I got a chipotle glazed pork with mango salsa.  I did not get much chipotle taste on the pork, in fact the heat was in the mango salsa.  This entree came with two sides, I ordered a baked potato and the squash medley.  What came out was 2 large pieces of pork on a bed of mixed greens, plus a potato and the squash medley on separate plates.  This was way too much food as I ate the greens underneath to make sure I got the flavors from the mango salsa.  I did not have the appetite to touch the squash medley but it did not look like anything special. This dish needs work.  Nearly everyone else got the Chicken Chesapeake and they all liked it.

I have to comment on these orange crushes.  I don't know why OC goes ape-shit over these drinks.  Numerous bars serve them.  This was the only place I tried one and was just not impressed.  I did get an Adkins Lemonade and liked that much better.  Our server was really good.

Our favorite place to go when visiting OCMD.  More locals than tourists.  Mostly seafood dishes, but the Orange Crush drink they are famous for is the best reason to stop by.
Great music on the patio/waterfront deck.

Beachy, wharfy, casual deck atmosphere.  All of the entrees are "okay", with the daily specials standing out as better than the regular fare.  My husband had the "crushed rockfish" special, which was rockfish covered with lump crab and a spicy creamy sauce with a hint of orange.  His entree was by far better than mine -- blackened shrimp over alfredo linguini.  Prices are high, but typical for the Ocean City area.

The service was not great the night we went.  The waitress could not describe the specials to us.  We wanted more information about the "crushed rockfish", but the best she could give us was that someone else ordered it and ate the whole thing.  We also had a long wait to receive our meals and get our check.

What stands out at Harborside is the bar.  They have many signature drinks all at very reasonable prices.  They usually have entertainment nightly during the summer -- either a DJ or small band.  A good place to hang out that's off the main drag, if you're looking for a more low key alternative to Seacrets.

Great setting, not too expensive and most importantly, delicious.
I had the mahi mahi with shrimp was very good.
My girlfriend had a crabcake sammich which was very good too. Had very little filler.
The orange crush was great too.

One of the cooler places to drink that the OC area has to offer.  Not a place you usually get inundated with tourists at.  You'll find (generally speaking) a more "salt of the earth" type crowd in here, which is why this place earned its 4th star in my book.

Friendly staff, sports on TVs, and bartenders who seem to handle their load very well.

A good spot, if you know where to find it!

We went here with family and friends to watch the Ravens play the Steelers just after Christmas and had a great time.

Harborside is in a great location on the docks, has good food and great drinks, including a signature cocktail (the orange crush.  The key: fresh squeezed oranges).

This place is packed in the summertime, with a good mix of locals and tourists, but is all local on the off-season.

I love this place! I typically only make it here once a year, but look forward to it every time.

We started with Yuengling drafts for $2.00; a bargain available all day long on Fridays. The fried oyster appetizer was delicious and perfectly crisp and flavorful. Instead of my usual crab cake I ordered the fish tacos (2) for $9.99! The use fried flounder and the sauce they drizzle atop compliments the fish well.

Don't overlook the seafood bisque. It is one of the best you'll ever have! If you come for only one thing, make it the bisque. Of course, you won't want to pass on their happy hour beer specials as well.

The Tempura Softshell Crab plate, and Blackened Mahi with Shrimps and Tomato Basil Sauce plates were very tasty.

After a nice day of hurricane surf, we drove in the rain and found the Harborside. It seemed a little less hectic than the main tourist venues. The place was packed so we had an ultimate Margarita and a few beers. The place had a welcoming genuine atmosphere. We had a nice table for two by the water. Our waitress was stoic but efficient.

Good food and welcoming drinking spot. I would go back.
