The Harp

I was craving shepherd's pie and a Guinness, so I decided to give the Harp a try.  This was my first time going there and my first impression pulling into the parking lot was it looked a little run down.  When I walked in it was a nicer on the inside, kind of your typical Irish bar decor. I sat at the bar and ordered the chips and house made curry sauce as an appetizer and the shepherd's pie, and a Guinness of course. I wasn't impressed with the chips and curry sauce.  The curry sauce seemed bland to me and it came out so hot that it had a hard layer of skin on it.  I added some hot sauce to it and it tasted better.  However, the shepherd's pie was pretty good, not the best I ever had, but good. The bartender was pretty friendly and she checked to make sure I liked the food and she was diligent about keeping the Guinness flowing.   Overall, I won't be running back to the Harp, but I would go back, especially for the shep's pie.

We got take out last weekend and when they bagged the order, they left out all utensils including napkins.  We were at a place where we did not have access to forks/knives and it's difficult to eat a salad with your hands.  When I called and complained they asked us to drive back to the restaurant to get them, and also asked us why the person picking up the order didn't ask for them.  I've worked in the industry for many years and it should be understood that if someone orders take out, they should automatically receive the necessary items to eat the food.  In my opinion, they should've been willing to discount and/or deliver the utensils to us.  Will not be eating here again!
