Harry's On Elston

A lovely neighborhood bar with reasonable prices. This is one of the few bars left in Chicago that doesn't charge an arm and a leg for a drink. It is also one of the few bars that isn't completely packed with obnoxious people and the bartenders are efficient and friendly. I have to assume this is because it's so "far" from everything. The NW area gets looked over, and I'm OK with that if it means I can find nice little spots like this.

My friends and I stopped here after dinner at Smak-Tak, which is another place I highly recommend. It was pretty late and dark and we didn't feel like traveling too far. We looked for something close and Harry's was just down the street. There didn't appear to be too many other options and with a bar as nice as this one, that's all you really need.

This is another small bar in the Northwest side of Chicago. there was nobody the night I went. It is a nice average looking bar with a really small patio and a nice view on Elston. The older bartender was frindly and drunk..which you have to love. This is such a refreshing change from the yuppie bars of Wicker Park and Wrigleytown.

"Come to Harry's its Sexy" is the slogan my friend Casey made up last summer.  And it totally is "sexy" .... I mean who can resist a neighborhood crowd of regulars, awesome bartenders, great music, harryokee seven days a week on demand and a super cheap prices that are nowhere to be found.  
On top of all that awesome stuff there is more: Barney, the manager who sings on request ) note: you must be a little buzzed to appreciate this and it is funny and one on a lifetime experience) the crowd range (from "I just turned 21 crowd to the retired creepy overly awesome old men) The Great Bartenders ( here is the kicker: I work here on the weekends and so do two of my awesome friends along with the oldtimer amazing and sweet bartenders, who are like family).
So, what are you waiting for? We have pool, darts (if we can find them ever), harryokee, we sponsor teams of any kind, juke box, and cheap drinks with Guinness on tap (one of the best in the city).

PS: Im not saying this just because I work here but because it was my Cheers and that is how I got the job.  Its a fun neighborhood place with inviting people and its so much fun with surprises every night.
