Review Source:This IS the 2nd brandys in my neighborhood to open and being the 2nd i rate it 2nd to the original Brandys on Harlem, just a couple blocks south of Northwest Highway.
Let me start off by saying that this is my first yelp review and that being said, I am not one to complain and/or be picky, but this restaurant really lacks professionalism and honestly just makes the original Brandys look bad.
Before this "Brandys" opened it was called Iggys or Ziggys or something goofy like that. Never cared to go in there and always took the extra mile to go to Super Dawg. When i saw the name Brandys i thought wow, great i love the brandys on harlem great food and huge menu this place must be just as good. Unfortunately my hopes and expectations were false. Let me tell you why!
On my way to my girlfriends apartment she called me and asked if i would be kind enough to bring her a chicken caesar salad, which of course i said yes! I came in during the hawks potential 18th regulation win, so i was already a bit on edge. Upon entry there were about 3 tables occupied so not busy at all. I walked up to the register and placed my order right away. Chicken ceaser salad to go please, paid and sat down to watch the hawks game come to its first intermission. Patiently waiting few minutes go by 5-8 give or take when an older gentleman orders the same exact thing just a chicken caesar salad to go. The cashier asked, " did you place your order ahead of time?" the gentleman answered no and sat down to wait.
I was sitting at the table closest to the register so i overheard the order. So 15 minutes go by and i start wondering whats taking so long? I mean come on, its a salad and even if they had to cook the chicken for me it only takes about 10 minutes to cook a piece of chicken on a grill. So i think to myself, whatever its still intermission and my girlfriend lives only 2 minutes away. Sitting, waiting i see the guy (manager) bagging my salad i finally get relieved its done, but i was wrong very very wrong the guy looks at me post bagging and dosent even call the ticket number and just directs the bag to the older man who i had ordered his salad minutes after me. I stand up right away and walk to the register and politely ask for my money back. The cashier lady had a guilty look like she knew why i was upset, while this poor excuse of a manager or whatever he is looked at me with a smirk on his stupid face asking what the problem was?
I told him i think you know what the problem is ive been waiting 15 mintues for a salad number one, and second a customer who ordered the SAME EXACT thing AFTER me recieves his before me? How is that right, he then says he called ahead of time and i say no he didnt ive been sitting here, I clearly heard him say he didnt call it in, he then says well he didnt order chicken so your is taking longer. Again i just say your lying once again please just give me my money back and i will be on my way. He then tells me no we dont give refunds, only store credit. I tell him i dont want store credit i will not be returning and just grabbed the bag out of his hand. I am a white 25 year old male if it makes any difference and this middle aged, mid life crisis, balding, miserable looking poor excuse of a man seemed just mad at life and taking it out on me, but i will never return to this restaurant the staff seems scummy and dirty. Suggest not to come here. Parking lot is always full and and tiny since its shared with a 7-11 and some other little business.
This is the second Brandy's in my neighborhood and it's as equally consistent as the first.
Both Brandy's serve up great Gyros/Hamburger/Hotdog/Fries/Salads type food.
Speaking of ... they have fantastic fries and salads!
I'm totally addicted to their large Greek Salad with grilled chicken breast. Delish.
Second favorite ... their Chicken Kabob Dinner.
Next ... their Chicken Pita (it comes with a honey mustard sauce, but I order with it their yummy Tzatziki Sauce)
Best Gyro Plate in the neighborhood. (one of the best on the NW side)
If you're in the mood for some good, fast, no nonsense, better than the USUAL hotdog/hamburger stand food, you will not be disappointed.
Delivery is available, but I live so close I always use the carryout.
