They advertise $10 domestic beer buckets, but it's a LIE. What they mean is only CHEAP domestics. Apparently 312 is not domestic enough (funny bc you can't get more domestic than being in Chicago, ordering a beer brewed in Chicago). They also advertise bloody marys for $3 online, but raise the price at the bar. I don't appreciate false advertisement and being ripped off when I order a domestic beer and get charged double for something falsely advertised. At least have your bartenders notify the customer beforehand if it's not considered "domestic" to your bar standards. Â Honestly it's complete b.s. and horrible business ethics. I don't support businesses with poor business ethics. On top of that, your blonde older bartender is disgusting. She doesn't know how to properly make drinks, and prepares food without washing her hands after handling money. Where is your sanitary standards? Do you not realize you can make people sick by neglecting to wash your hands??? Especially when handling cash! In addition, the server ignores tables so you have to go up to the bar either way. Congratulations Jets, you just lost a recurring local customer.
Review Source:I came here to have a couple of drinks with a friend in town for work. It was crowded, which we later learned was due to trivia night.
The bartenders were friendly, the patrons were pretty social and they have different food and drink specials which is a bonus. My real excitement came from the variety of beer they had on draft and how my Shandy was $4.. SCORE! You can tell that its a neighborhood bar with a cool feel. If I lived in the area, I could see this growing into a regular spot I'd visit.
A great traditional neighborhood bar (I mean Public House) on the far north side. Â Daily food and drink specials (starting at just $2), wall-to-wall flat panels with access to games you'd be surprised they'd have availability (YES network, etc.) and plenty of seating for what you'd expect looking from the outside in.
Most comments were fair/accurate in that it's 20-40 somethings, has great trivia nights, as well as exceptional food for a bar. Â One thing I didn't come across was a comment on the girl/guy ratio - it's awful (any night of the week). Â It's not a bad thing, nor a deal breaker, but I wouldn't get your hopes up on walking out with any numbers, yet alone get a chance to talk to a girl on some nights. I'd expect that's due to it being a local establishment that caters to sport enthusiasts.
You're not going to find many other options on the far north side (that doesn't make you feel that you might get stabbed), yet alone a spot like Jet's. Â To borrow a line from Cheers, it's literally a place where everyone "can" know your name. Â Also, it's refreshing to still have a place to go where $20 will get you a good meal, great conversation and an even better buzz.
