A perfect Irish pub. Â You walk in and feel the warmth of wood and the crackle of conversation. Â You may have had good Guinness at a few places, but you have never had it like you do here. Â The bartenders pour it slowly, with patience, until it has reached its perfect level. Â And it is worth every second and every penny (though the amount of pennies you pay is very reasonable). Â
Like music? Â Come here at nights or on the weekends. Â You'll see traditional music and rock, a wonderful blend of old and new. Â Learn words to some Irish rebel songs, though, so that you can join the crowd in singing along.
Oh yeah- that's the kicker: prepare to lose yourself among the accents, the brogues, thick as Guinness. Â You'll hear dirty jokes and great stories, and hear the regulars bandy back and forth. Â
As the name implies, the owners are from three different counties in Ireland. Â If you aren't familiar, counties in Ireland are the standards for identities and for rivalries. Â So while watching soccer or hurling or Gaelic football, all of which draw a lively and enjoyable crowd, the place will be torn depending on whose county is playing whom- or who just feels like irritating the boys from Mayo. Â
This isn't a bar where you'll have to shout over the Top 40s while pounding Coors Light (though they do have a full arrangement of domestic and imported, and indeed the Irish there drink mostly domestic). Â It is a place for conversation, for laughs, for friendly service where they treat you as family. Â It is impossible for me to say enough good things about the Counties. Â Go there, and raise one to the Auld Sod.
This was a pretty small Irish bar in a neighborhood with some competition. It has a small stage and great irish beer imports. There was heavy Irish accents and that is what you want going to an Irish bar. A pretty authentic Irish bar. Now if it were only located in an actual Irish neighborhood
Review Source:A great Irish bar, mostly full of of-the-boat Irish stopping in after work or out on a weekend night. Â Weekends usually has some pretty good music on their stage, and the people behind the bar are some of the nicest in the city. Â Not too huge, and a little dark, but this place certainly does have a bit of charm.
