I have become a fan of Healy's Westside. It's bright, full of pretty wood, not usually so overcrowded that you want to punch people in the face, and the bathrooms are well maintained (hey, I want a nice clean toilet seat). The beer selection is far better than another big bar on he strip I shall not name here.
The atmosphere is welcoming, there's a decent amount of places to sit, and during the St. Patrick parade on Madison is has nice big windows for people watching.
I would recommend checking this place out. Oh, and tip your bartenders. They are pretty rad.
Great open space with lots of windows. Â I like the feel of the place. Long history in forest park to, so even though it's newer space you feel nostalgic. Â You have to wonder why isn't this place more crowded.
One BIG problem, the place reeks of sewer gas. WTF, really you went cheap on the plumbing....
Last three times I was there it stunk like rotten eggs, it blows my mind that anyone was even in there...last time I went there was just to see if it smelled because it seemed to me this was an obvious problem with an easy fix, guess what it still did. 1 beer and out.
I am posting this as PSA to the owners because you must not visit your bar. Fix your plumbing, line the pipes, get a leak sensor, do something.
Post a sign letting us know it's new and improved and I will be back, otherwise I will stick to the bars with normal expected gross bar smells. Â Thanks for your consideration.
