Hidden Door Corpus the

Fun place to go out and have fun. Traditional bar downstairs and piano bar upstairs. Will definitely go back.

Ive been in corpus for 9 years and this place has apparently been here for 30 years. If you want upscale this is NOT your place. But...if you want a full bar with stiffer than usual drinks on the cheap, interesting and down to earth crowd, decent music, great deck and patio...this place is it. Piano bar upstairs is a nice addition, although I do agree with previous reviewer that piano player could get some new material. Every time I go he is playing too much Adele. (To be fair, this is likely by request) Not too many bells and whistles at "The Door" but I always feel right at home.

I actually live two blocks up on Shoreline and went here just to have a few drinks one night in middle of week.  It was not a busy night, maybe three other customers.  I invited a friend to meet me and just wanted to unwind and have a few drinks.  Let me just start by saying the place was as expected, costumers friendly and doing their own thing.  I have been here before and had a nice time BUT let me just say this....THEY HAVE TO GET RID OF THE DOWNSTAIRS SKINNY BLOND BARTENDER.  I AM NOT KIDDING...I only wanted to order a beer...you know, a beer...get out of cooler, open, give to customer (sitting right in front of you at the bar...YES...the one who you ignored for 15 minutes although she was only one there).   Anyway, this guy was pathetic!  He seems like the type that has a huge insecurity chip on shoulder. I forgot his name but when I called my friend who was more of a regular...she ask me if "he" was working and proceeded to tell me he was acting normal and she didn't go anymore because of his attitude.  OK...well, he did bring me a beer while acting like I was bothering him.  Before I knew he was an "$%$" I did try to be friendly with him...conclude he may be having a bad day etc...NOTHING....this guy is going to run place into ground.  My friend met me and we left and went somewhere else.   No reason to spend time somewhere your made to feel UN-welcome.   WON'T BE GOING BACK UNTIL THIS PERSON IS GON which most likely won't be much longer...hopefully!
