I'd never actually been to Hooters and decided to stop by to try the famous wings. I got 10 wings, 5 hot and 5 "bently". The hot were not hot at all and the bently had a nice heat. The wings were alright, not as great as their made out to be. They seemed frozen, which always sucks. But the service I had was really good. Although my waitress was really busy, she was friendly and always there when needed. She was also a cutie.
Review Source:I work for Red Lobster, but the snow crab I had at Hooter's tonight blew Red Lobster out of the water. Â The portion was HUGE (4-5 legs extra compared to Red Lobster despite the menus both saying one pound) for a great price, and the meat was perfect. Â It was moist, flavorful, and slid right out of the shell..just like it should!
My husband's fish sandwich was also delicious. Â Seasoned to perfection and a generous portion. Â Service was also good - Sydnee was very nice. Â We'll be coming back!
Also, Judy, just because there are guys at the table doesn't mean your waitress is going to take more interest. Â They're doing their job, not cruising for boyfriends. Â I have to wonder if you ate while it was extremely busy and your waitress was swamped. Â If all else fails, you know you can ASK for things, right?
This hooters was OK. When it comes to a place like this-- I would prefer bagpipes or bone daddy's. The food at those places is much better, and the clothes the women are wearing -- much sexier. However for Lubbock, this place is A-OK. The girls are decent, and the food is marginal. I like the buffalo chicken sandwich. The beers are cold.
Review Source:I have been to many different Hooterses, so unlike Wendy I do have a frame of reference. Â This location has the best looking waitresses I have ever seen at a Hooters restaurant. Â There wasn't an unattractive girl in the bunch. Â I especially liked Whitney (I hope I got the name right). Â She did a phenomenal job taking care of our large group of slightly rowdy southern boys. Â The beer flowed like wine, and we ended up with a couple plates of complimentary shrimp by some happy accident. Â The whole wait staff sang happy birthday to one of our guys even though they knew it wasn't his birthday. Â There's plenty of tvs here, so I was able to watch the Magic fall apart against the Celtics in game 5 of the conference semis no matter which direction I looked. Â The only complaint I have, why are we only allowed to get one shot each at our table? Â Is that some crazy Lubbock law? Â I don't know, but I've never been a fan of laws that limit my drinking. Â Also, they serve liquor but it's not exactly a vast selection.
So, this particular Hooters is a great spot to have some beers, eat some wings, catch a game (whatever sport you like), and hang out with some friends. Â It's a big place with lots of seating, and I wouldn't bet that it fills up very often. Â The women here are extraordinarilly beautiful, and very friendly (of course). Â Love this place.
I didn't have a frame of reference to compare Hooters (heh heh) until recently, as this was the only one I had ever visited. A few years back it opened among much controversy and opposition in typical Lubbock style.
My husband had always told me that Hooters has the best hot wings, and I of course thought it was just a line to get me to go to a place with half naked women. But I decided to give it a try when it opened in Lubbock, after all I'm opened minded.
After the initial sensory overload (boobs and booty) I realized that, yes, the food is really, really good, and, yes, they have amazing wings! My favorite is the fried pickles, the dipping sauce is amazing. I pretty much had to force my husband to try these, but now they are one of his favorites too.
I haven't had anything there I didn't like, and they have high quality food. Only complaint - they only serve wine and beer, not a full bar. However, they usually have some drink special or another going on for a pitcher or something.
Now that I have been to another Hooters and have a basis for comparison, I realize the Lubbock Hooters really nailed it! Good job guys!
