Going back for sure! We need to support small places like this.

We ordered  two, two hot dog and fry meal deals.  I had high hopes for the new hot dog place in the neighborhood.  I thought the food was a bit expensive, for hot dogs and fries.  The people working were nice, but the food was not prepared well.  We watched them microwave the hotdog buns, and the dogs were lukewarm at best.   The fries were also undercooked.  Going there around  1 p.m.  on a Saturday, it would seem a place called "Hot Dog Central," would have been prepared for lunch time customers, with steamed hot dog buns, and hot hot dogs. The restaurant, itself was clean and nice.  As a former Wisconsinite, I was also happy to see Schoep's Ice Cream available.  If I was going on the food alone, the meal I had did not earn two stars, but I hope they get better and stick around the neighborhood for a while, at a minimum, so I can stop in for Ice Cream in the warm weather.

I've tried the Hot Dogs, fries, pizza puffs and wings here...  All were very good, fresh and made to order.  I also love the "tax included" pricing.  My wife & daughters love their shakes.  This place is super clean too.  I've already gone back more than once and will continue to do so.  This place fits the Portage Park neighborhood perfectly.
