that's a lovely little place in Polish neighborhood, however food and service was just horrible. i went there with my boyfriend to enjoy a drink and some appetizers at late evening. we sat outside. i ordered a martini and a zapiekanka (a bun with mushrooms and cheese served hot). the server spilled the drink all over the table. well, that happens, not a big deal. but then i got zapiekanka.
which was disgusting, cold and gluey.
I'm always nice to the servers and I never complain, but that was really too much. I decided to return this thing, but the server didn't appear for close to 15 minutes. I decided to take my plate inside by myself and ask for a check. The server was busy  chatting with the only customer by the bar. when she heard that food was disgusting, she was not only surprise and rude, but She said that there was no cook in the restaurant and she made it in the microwave and why I have a problem.
absolutely rediculous. then, she fought with us, because she didn't want to take this dish from our check. finally, we paid for the drinks and left promising to each other not to come back again. what a shame.
Lovely little place on Irving Park. There is a big Polish following but that doesn't matter when every body's nice and sociable.
Drinks are pretty good and the staff is willing to cooperate if you're not satisfied. What more can you ask for?
I came here Friday night and it wasn't that full so I sat the bar. The manager eneded up buying me 4 shots, champagne, and a drink just because he needed me to move over two bar stools. How nice???
I definitely recommend visiting this place when you're in good spirits. They're not open ultra late but they do have outdoor seating.
