Review Source:Came here right at closing. Thank goodness I brought my Polish interpreter with me. She pleaded with the waitress and , of course, we were seated. Deijuke!!!
Smakosz is in Jefferson Park! Portage Park does not begin until you hit Montrose. I grew up here! There are a few comments about the layout and decor. I do not know when it became Smakosz, but it was previously a Chinese restaurant. I liked the interior. Reminded me of a Polish Lodge dining room (sans the booths color.) The Banquet room was like a Polish Lodge dining room. My guest said she came here with 25-30 people and they were seated in this room. She said the food is good. She was right again! She started with a cold soup which was a creamy dill with Uszka and a side of mashed potatoes. Mashed potatoes with soup? She said this is the way she remembers her mother serving it. I ordered the Breaded Pork Chop with mushrooms. It was substantial and done well. It came with mashed potatoes. My lady ordered the Pork Cutlet. She said it was delicious. The prices are inexpensive for the quality and quantity of food served. The complimentary saladtki is excellent. I will be back to try other options on the menu and the pierogi. Are theirs better than mine? We will see.....
Loved the place!
