  I have mixed feelings about house of rock -  i LOVE the bands and the acts that they bring in, which is why i go there pretty frequently... average prices for drinks, bar staff are decent... down sides?  there is seriously never any seating for shows, and the acoustics are a little harsh on the ears for a venue that plays music all the time... overall i'm a big fan tho!

  Although I grew up in Corpus Christi, I had never been to The House of Rock.  I'm more of a martini bar kind of girl, but my little brother digs this place and has played a couple of shows here so I was down.  Definitely a dive bar, but a very cool space.  Several different stages with different musical offerings.  Also, several bars so you never have to wait long for a cocktail.  I was blown away by the drink prices!  $10 bought me a 7&7 and a Ketel One on the rocks.  WOW!  For drink prices like that maybe I should kiss Austin goodbye?  I'll definitely be back!

  I'm really torn on this place, I've only been there once but I will let you decide. My band played there back a couple of years ago. The venue itself is nice. The staff was okay, a little bit of "I'm more rock than you" attitude but I can deal with that. This place definitely reeks of more of a "metal" music bar and we didn't quite fit the bill. A lot of machismo vibe in the room from the crowd as well. However, the size of the venue was perfect. The sound was good and the 2 seperate bars were perfectly placed so I can't give this place a negative review. Maybe, the next time i'm in Corpus, I'll give this place a second try.

  A large group of friends & I stopped by this place on a Wednesday night, which was probably the issue.  The place was, for lack of a better term, dead.  There was only a handful of patrons which I'm pretty sure we outnumbered given our size.  I liked the space, though.  There was a central bar that was divided by a wall that had a hole in it making it so that you could see the people sitting across from you.  The larger side had the main bar area plus a big room with bars & stools, so there was plenty of room.  It was a fun setup, just didn't have enough folks to stir things up properly.
  
  During our short time here, the bartenders were helpful and quick to get us drinks.  They had a huge beer selection which excited us greatly.  It seemed like a cool place to hang, but we were looking for a little more rowdiness, so we had to move along.  I'll probably try this place again when I visit, just to give it a fair shot :)

  They seemed to have a lot of decent bands who have played there if I remember right.  The beer selection was pretty good.  I went on a Thursday and there were a ton of people there. Good stuff.
