Humperdink's is our go-to local sports bar. I mean, all the TV's...the menu...the BAR...you can't go wrong with Humperdinks. NFL, NBA, Boxing, MMA...they show everything and always accommodate whatever big event is going on.

They also have an area to play pool, billiards and some other games as well...never really see people utilizing that area though, but I think it's mandatory for a bar to have at least one pool table--that's the rule right?

Now, the food. The only thing I think I've had here that I didn't like are the tacos/Mexican food. Some places should just stop it. But other than that, they're pretty solid with their offerings. Some of my favorites are the Kobe Burger, Chicken & Waffles (chicken strips on top of a nice thick waffle -- nothing like Roscoe's or Gladys'...so don't expect THAT good), their catfish is very good too, I like their calzones (STUFFED with meat...love it)...

Their menu is packed with variety with something for everyone, for any occasion. They also have a weekend brunch and daily early bird menus as well. (The brunch menu comes with fruit, cinnamon roll (YUMMY) and $1.99 mimosas #win)

I come here all the time and have always had awesome service from the bartenders Juanita and Tom (those are the two who i can remeber right now). Any time there has been a problem with the food (not often) they make sure everything is fixed quickly!

Awesome drinks, service, and atmosphere!  Thanks for always being great! I'll continue to be loyal customer! Keep it up!

The food is not worth the plate they bring it on.

Went here to watch an NBA finals game with a friend as I suspected it wouldn't be packed.. I was right, and it wasn't packed for good reason. This place is super old, and I'm sure they haven't changed a single thing in the place for years.

When we finally did get out food it was just eh, and for $20 bucks after tip that's sad. We literally waited 10 minutes for my friends to-go box and ended up leaving the stuff they call food on the table and leaving.

Save yourself money, time, and frustration.

Great drinks and appetizers such as the Armadillo Eggs (stuffed jalapenos) but entrées not so much.  Would be great for watching a game though if you were in the neighborhood.

Even though I do have lots fun at this place with my friends...I never been really impressed with their food.  Don't get me wrong, the food is good, it's edible...just not something I rave about of this place.  But, if you just want to have some beers with a big group...this place will be for you.

This place was awful! I felt like I was at Denny's sports bar! It was slow, but there was no hostess. I had 8 different people bring my drinks and food. The food was pathetic and the drinks were small!
I have been to the Humperdinks in Addison, so I know this place can be okay, but this location is gross!!!!

Pretty darn good beer, for a sport bar/brewery.
Food was pretty tasty, but standard fare for such a place......nothing to remember forever, but no complaints at all.  Would most definitely head back.

My wife and I were visiting Dallas from Grand Rapids, Mi. We were looking for a good brewery and found Humperdink's. Grand Rapids was recently named "Beer Town USA". We have LOTS of breweries in the area to compare it to. The beer was okay. I tried the Buttface and the IPA. Both were.....vanilla....not that they tasted like vanilla flavor they were just plain.

With few choices in Dallas I'd go back, but begrudgingly.

Oh and I don't a problem of people of all shapes and sizes so don't get me wrong here, but our waitress was wearing closes that were not appropriate for someone her shape and size.

In the 1990s, Humperdinks was the up-and-coming restaurant-bar for 20 something wannabees trolling for dates.  It was lively, hip for the time, and had a great Americana-style menu.  Kinda like Champs, only 2 points classier.

The bad news is this place hasn't changed a bit.  It's a little outdated, the menu is a little heavy on the deep-battered fried foodstuffs.  And there really isn't a healthy selection on the menu, minus the house salad which never counts as a meal.

These buildings were all built in the 90s around the Dallas area, so now after 20 years of use, the place is looking a little worn out.  This chain definitely needs a new approach.

The good news is there's a way to re-make this into the restaurant it was in the 90s. But it will take a refresh on the interiors, and an overhaul of the menu.

Who gets honey mustard and ranch mixed up with mayo and mustard? And to top it off who does not know the difference in serving a free drink while a customer waits for their to go order? I am really disappointed with not only the establishment of this place but the fact on how and why they would hire some of the people that they do in this business? I have so many complaints towards this restaurant, but only because this establishment has the potential to be one of the better companies because of the better and wider selections on their menus, however, they are rated by far one of the worst to go to in my opinion and my friends this is a classic example of just because if the food is good, this necessarily doesn't mean a customer will be 100% satisfied when the servers are not up to par!!

By the way this was a third visit and I'm still not satisfied with the service and I really don't look for perfection when visiting these kind of businesses but just general good old fashion service like we used to have in our favorite restaurants.

    Regards,

    B

I am gonna give this a 4 star because I loved the layout of the bar and the fun atmosphere, but our service was definitely lacking for our group of 8.  Cool bar area, even had a dj playing. All the games on , LOVED IT!!  Their micro beers were very good and they even let me sample em!  On to the food. My grilled chicken was just fine. Tasty and cooked perfect. We had guys that got steaks, burgers, wings, everybody said not bad. Our waitress even broke up the checks for us, but problem is ....we hardly ever saw her!! I dont think her fault, she was a doll, but just too many tables for her. Any event definitely a fun place to go watch a game and have a few cocktails. I will be back!!

The booth seating was not comfortable, but roomy enough for larger folks. The salmon was overcooked and extremely dry - the seasoning seemed nice, but there was not enough to compensate for the rest of the fish. The ginger spiked rice was not really seasoned that I could tell - I was concerned that it might be too spicy. The plate included some unexpected vegetables that were simply steamed - no seasoning.

So each bite was a dry wasteland of unseasoned dryness. Did I mention it was dry? I was genuinely concerned that I might choke on this. The Cod Fish & Chips were as expected - no complaints.

Might give it another try just to make sure it wasn't an isolated experience. Not sure I'll order the simply grilled (dry dry dry) salmon again.

I wavered between a one and two star rating, but went ahead with two since the place has potential.

My first impression of this place though was a waiter making out with his girlfriend before his shift on the handicap ramp.  Guests walking up?  No biggie... If you keep kissing maybe they'll assume you didn't see them?  *sigh* to be young again....

Anywho... The best thing about the food were the Chicken Armadillo Eggs.  GOOD LORD.  They were great.  Beyond that my husband was super excited about the pretzel bun, but actual execution of it wasn't great.  I had the fish tacos.... meh.  I only ate one and sent the rest to the trash.  We weren't impressed the first day and didn't plan on returning.

The next day a co-worker at the conference asked to go here (despite our less than glowing reviews).  Awesome.  Lets give this place another shot.

My salad was over dressed (but to be fair, I don't like a lot of dressing, so I should have asked for it on the side to begin with).  However, the girl who asked to go eat there had to send her burger back TWICE because first time) they sent the wrong burger out and second time) when she clarified what she had requested on the burger, they sent it out wrong AGAIN.  Eventually it came out right.  But lets be honest, they should have comped her burger.  This delay put us back to the conference about 20 minutes late.

Overall, I wouldn't go back unless it was for appetizers and drinks.  Some armadillo eggs and liquor and the right crowd could be fun.  Unfortunately, this place didn't offer much else....

Unless of course you're looking for someone to make out with....

The drinks aren't weak. The foods is edible but  the pasta I ordered was so salty that I couldn't eat. To their credit they did offer to make something else for me but by the time it came to the table everybody was leaving and I had to brown bag it.

Out of all the Humperdinks this location is my favorite.  Why?  Because it has the BIGGEST BAR!  Despite the bar size there is minimal seating on a October Friday during the OU (Oklahoma) Texas weekend.  Oklahoma City's SportsAnimal radio station has a live remote broadcasting cheers and jeers of the Sooner Nation.  To ensure a seat OU fans must arrive early before Jim Traber broadcasts on the fateful Friday before the OU victory over Texas.  BOOMER!

I'm straining to give it 3 stars, but Humperdink's is "ok".  The food is average and the service when I've been to this location is pretty slow.  The have few decent in house beers that are worth trying.  Overall there are better places to spend your money.

I'm from IL. and we came to Texas to visit my relatives of my fiance. They wanted to take us to Humperdink's because they have been and have always enjoyed themselves. I can see why. We had some great food and their Buttface ale was really good. My fiance and I liked it so much that we had them bring us back for all the football games on Sunday. Both visits were great. We had a friendly wait staff and the food was very filling. Thanks for the good times.

Recentrly travelled to Dallas on business and dined at Humperdinks for dinner.

Pros: Great atmosphere in the bar area. Very nicely decorated, ornate and modern. You can see where they brew the beer through a large glass window in the bar area. The beers are quite good. After tasting small samples of each brew, we overwhelmingly chose the Texas Blonde. This is an American Lager.
The wait staff was very attentive and visited us frequently to ensure everything was to our satisfaction.
    The prices are quite reasonable.

Cons: The food was average, pretty much what you would find at a Chili's. They don't have a lot of healthy alternatives

I would reccomend this as more of a place to watch a sporting event (football, baseball, boxing) and a place to dine with familiar colleagues or friends.

Good burgers here and plenty of cold beer options. They brew their own beer and that's all you'll find on tap some get used to the idea of drinking the staples out of a bottle. That's OK though, because the micro brews are good. I suggest trying the flight first so you can get a taste of everything they have. The flight is only like $6 or so and you get 8 or 9 different types, all in all not a bad deal. This way you get to figure out what you like and don't like without having to get the whole beer.

I ate at Humperdinks in Dallas off of Loop 12 and West Northwest Hwy tonight.  There were 13 of us.  We had a reservation for 7p.  Our table was not ready til 730p.  It took over 30 minutes for someone to take our food order.  When the food came out, almost everyone's was warm to cool.  Not one meal was hot.  The friend sitting next to me ordered cheese sticks.  They came out hard, not melted.  The girl sitting across from me ordered a Cuban type sandwich.  She said it was cold and tasted weird.  I ordered chicken and shrimp.  While the meal was good, it was definitely not hot when it was served...more of a lukewarm temperature.  The staff was nice, but clearly unable to handle as many groups as they had at the time we got there.  As far as I know, there were no major league games of any kind that would be a big draw on TV there tonight.  I would hate to go to this restaurant on a busy night like playoffs or Superbowl.  They couldn't handle it.

I travel to Dallas for business and this was one of my first restaurants I came to when I first started working this job 6 years ago.  I come here at least once every time I am in town.  The Texas Blond beer one of my FAV's!   Food is very good this location has always been my favorite one based on the quality of food and service.  I recommend the Hump to all that travel to the DFW area.  This location is the best I feel.

Came here to drink after a tough exam.  Drink specials were decent, so that was good.  Beer tasted okay, for a place that brews their own beers.  I only ordered chili cheese fries, so it's hard to mess that up.

I give it a 2 stars because the wait staff was horrible.  Took forever to get an order and when I had to tell another waiter my order, I was told that he'd tell the waiter at my table and I guess for some reason the message never got through.  The waiter disappeared throughout our dinner as well.

Overall, it was a nice big place for a good group gathering, but I wouldn't be to inclined to come back.

This is a great place for a happy hour or to watch some sports.  The food is decent, the beers are ok.  I can't say any item was memorable but what I did like was just the ample seating and plenty of tv's.

Great spot for groups and watching sports.

Went here twice when visiting the Cowboy stadium. Very convenient and the food is pretty good. I like the beer towers especially for the price. I recommend the appetizer sampler; it was a good variety of food to choose from. If you like calamari, theirs is especially good with a dipping sauce that I could take by the gallon. I would rate this higher if the service was a little more attentive and if the tv screens were easier to see.

This Humperdink's used to be pretty great, but over the past year, it has become exponentially more lame with every visit.

First the good stuff:  Of the beers they brew, a couple are nearly great, and a few others are pretty decent.  They also sell a few great bottled craft beers.  Not a ton of them, but the ones they do sell are well chosen.

I've heard a few complaints about the Hump's entree-type food, but their pub grub is good.  Great burgers, sandwiches, and appetizers.

They have plenty of TVs, and one giant projector screen.  It used to be a great place to watch UFC, but not anymore, for several reasons.

You guessed it, now it's time for the bad stuff.

First, they started charging a cover on UFC nights.  I understand you're in business to make money, and this is a chance to gouge your customers a little harder.  Most places charge a cover for UFC.  But it's stupid at Humperdink's.  Their beers and food are expensive enough.  People are going to sit there for three or four hours and spend a bunch of money on that stuff.  Do you really need to hit them up for another five bucks?  That money doesn't go to the waitresses, either.  In fact, if I have to pay a cover, there's a good chance it's coming out of the waitress's tip.

Charging a cover is especially heinous if the customer is a member of your bar's little members club.  I used to be in the Mug Club, which meant I drank at the Hump pretty much whenever I went out.  In fact, I went out more often, specifically to drink at Humperdink's.  While I got discounts on beer, I still paid full price for food.  And I paid for the membership.  I also made Humperdink's the place to go on UFC nights for all of my friends.  So considering all of the money I was giving them and all of the extra business I brought in, that greedy little five bucks per UFC felt like a pretty heavy slap in the face.

The service at Humperdink's has always been pretty hit and miss too.  It must not be a great place to work, because they seem to experience constant turnover.  Except for that one blonde bartender.  If you've ever been there, you know the one I mean.  Huge boobs, no personality?  Yeah, that's her.  She's pretty much always there, and she pretty much never smiles.  She has a terrible attitude, but she obviously gets by on the fact that men like to stare at her chest.

Then there was the enormous black girl who used to wear vomit-inducingly tight and thin outfits that left absolutely nothing to the imagination.  She was rude as hell too, and she worked there forever.  She still may.  But I'd venture a guess that she was the reason they instituted those ridiculous referee outfits for the girls.  They may be unattractive and pointless, but anything is better than that one girl's mounds of flab exploding through some ghetto-ass almost-not-there shirt.

Humperdink's has had a few notable servers who did a great job.  But most were pretty indifferent, and a few were spectacularly rude.  On UFC nights, most of them make it clear that they would rather be anywhere else.  This is understandable.  The bar gets packed with drunks, and the UFC crowd isn't exactly high on manners or hygiene.  But if you flounce around all night being a bitch to everybody, especially the regulars, it's going to take a big chunk out of your tips.  Why is this so difficult for so many waitresses to understand?

If you're in the mood for a good burger and a tasty beer when there isn't a UFC or other major sports event going on, you can do a lot worse than Humperdink's.  But if it's busy or the blonde bartender is just in one of her frequent pissy moods, you can expect to wait a long time for bad service.

Ambiance:  The one on Greenville is right by me, but I much prefer this one.  High ceilings, windows and wide open spaces makes this place quite comfy - compared to the Greenville cave.

Service:  Not bad, BUT.  The referee outfits they put on the women are both ugly and ill fitting.  And they seem to hate them and it shows in their attitude.  And who likes a referee anyway?  Dumb choice.  Service however is very prompt, courteous and attentive here.  Again, far better than Greenville Ave.

Selection:  If you like uninspired, lesser flavored home made beer this is your place.  The more aggressive styles are seldom to be seen.  Currently a Maibock, that is pretty tasty.  The IPA (Big Red) and Porter are very pedestrian, but are at least drinkable.

Food:  Like the beer, competent, but uninspired and limited in aggressive flavors.  Think Applebees and you've got the idea.

Value:  They put coupons in email and the newspaper all the time for buy one meal, get one free.  It nevers moves me to act.  Enough said.

Overall:  If you want great beer in Dallas, avoid this brewpub.  The Gingerman is a far superior choice.  If you want great food and beer, The Libertine is an awesome choice.

If you find yourself stuck in this area, this is the funnest place you will find. Lots of locals. The staff is cool - especially the doormen/ slash Battleship Commanders. G-10...You sank my battleship those headphones must be serving some purpose right?)

This place makes their own beer in Texas?  Yes but don't hold your breathe their microbrew beer is all but a shadow compared to other microbreweries I have had the chance to stumble upon in my travels.  It is a nice play to watch some football like me and my friend did, we had a number of beers, the hefe was okay, the others were not so okay.

I can't really comment on the food besides the queso with chips because that all I had and it was just like the beer, nothing to write home about.  The TVs on the walls really lets you watch the game, yup, and for the adults who wants booze and milkshakes they have that too.  Good place to watch the game but mediocre beer and food.

My hotel recommended this place. They said this place had a great happy hour & good food. Well that was a lie, but I'm sure she meant well.

They brew their own beer- I guess that sets them apart. We tasted the
hefeweizen, but neither of us really liked it. I ended up ordering a "humperdrink" or something like that. That was good and not as weak as I thought it would be. One thing about these places though: is really necessary to serve your alcoholic beverages in big gulp glasses?

I ordered fish tacos - they were good but not great. They would have tasted better grilled instead of fried. My coworker ordered the monte christo. It tasted okay too, but they really skimped on the meat.

This is probably a good place to drink beer & watch a game since it's very big and open inside. They also have 20 + flat panel tv screens that had some football game showing. It's not my thing, but maybe it's yours?

Good service & friendly wait staff, but I'm just really not a fan of Chili's and/or chili's type restaurants. The menu is predictable, as is the food.

I ate here today with 8 co-workers and I'm pretty sure each one would also rate Humperdinks 1 star.  This is  not the place to go if you want food.  Maybe their bar food is ok if you are drunk and watching a football game but if you are there for lunch during the week...forget about this place.

I had a hamburger that was a thin pre-made frozen patty that tasted like liquid smoke flavoring.  Here I am writing this review 8 hours later and the taste is still in my mouth (seriously, I can't get it to go away).  The meat was thin and had perfectly round sides which means they either had it frozen or they used a cookie cutter to get it in that shape.  The burger cost $8 and was served on a plain bun with regular pre-made frys.

Someone ordered chicken strips and was excited because there was so much chicken she could take it home for dinner.  She ate two and said she wasn't going to take them home because they were so bad.  She offered me one and I tried it.  The chicken somehow tasted more like a steak finger that was fried in old grease that you'd find in a gas station in Post, Tx (if you don't know, Post is one of the little towns on Hwy 84 on the way to Lubbock).

I can't personally speak for the other food but my friends assured me they were all severely disappointed.

    Pros:
Decorations and detail are very nice
    Cute waitresses
Bar looks great for Happy Hour

    Cons:
    Food

The service has always been excellent when I go too.

It's a pretty kick ass place to watch the Cowboys play, especially at the bar, right in front of the biggest big screen that they have.  They've got pretty good drink specials. On Sundays they've got 2.99 pints and 14.99 towers. Me a couple friends went through the 100 oz. towers easy, so it's definitely a good buy. They brew their own beers which are very good. I suggest trying out their hefe weizen with a slice of lemon or orange.  I also had the Dallas burger that came with bacon strips and sauteed sliced mushrooms mmmuuuuaahhhh. The bartenders are pretty cool and it seems the regulars there are pretty chill.

Oh they also have free wi-fi!
